Sundae Leighton writes romance novels that are sweet with a dark twist. She got her start writing fanfiction with her friends in school, but didn’t take the plunge to publish her first book (Picture Perfect) until 2020. Born and raised in Connecticut, where she currently resides with her husband and their cats. She sometimes scares herself when she writes things darker than intended, considers coffee the nectar of the Gods, and once ran the NYC marathon (OK - half marathon). When she isn’t writing down what the voices in her head tell her to, she likes watching murder shows, NASCAR, and reading romance books with lots of dark angst.

This book whole heartedly made me sob, laugh, scream and squeal repeatedly. Leo and Andy are high school sweethearts and absolutely perfect for each other. But of course a little bird gets into Andy's head and convinces him to leave his soulmate behind while he goes on tour. Now three years later, he's back home and groveling at Leo's feet to forgive him for being an idiot. I loved getting back into this world with all the amazing characters and the wags Chat! I'm obsessed with those chapters and would love even more of them. Their love story is complicated l, especially with Andy's mental health decline. Go into this one lightly if talk of depression, anxiety and mental health struggles are a sore spot for you. My heart broke for both these boys, but especially Andy and all the things he was feeling. I've had similar experiences with those thoughts and they really hit home. As always the spice was everything and more. This whole world is one giant family and I love getting to see the other characters from previous books and how their relationships are thriving. And of course the foreshadowing for the new books coming out. Highly recommend giving these books a try if you love mm, mental health representation, friends or enemies to lovers and so much more.
Or best Offer is written in such a way you'll be able to finish it in one day. The story is more on the fast side when talking about the pacing. The author has a very easy writing style which makes the book effortless to read.
Because the story between Leo and Andy was quite emotional at times I wish the focus was more on them. There are a lot of side characters who get introduced and you get to read a fair amount of detail about each character. I had a hard time remembering who was who and their significance towards Andy and Leo. I think I would've liked it more if 2 or 3 side characters weren't introduced so we could have more connection with the mc's. Some of their decisions felt rushed and not what I'd expect from then, considering their shared past.
Lastly I would like to suggest a heads up about trigger warnings. For One I was not expecting it to be this heavy at times. I myself didn't mind reading it but I think some people would like to have the option to opt-out.
Tropes: Nascar driver x rockstar second chance pining virgin mmc
I almost always finish a book once I start it, but this one is a struggle. The overuse of boo and hon and switching from real names to nicknames has driven me insane.
I was eighteen years old when Andy Olson broke my heart.
Andy was the golden boy. The son of a musical genius and a hockey superstar. Everyone wanted him, and yet he wanted ME.
He loved me. Until he didn't.
The breakup caught me off guard, it ripped me apart from the inside out. My brother and friends picked me back up, but things were never the same.
I moved on somehow, and started racing full-time like I always wanted. My career was thriving. I was making new friends and mending my heart. Until that night Andy showed up again...
And everything came crumbling back down
🏁 Thoughts 🎙 Thank you, Sundae & @chaoticcreativeservices for my eARC.
Or Best Offer is a second chance romance & the 1st book in the Acoustic & Electric series. It is same world & Andy is the son of Maverick & Jackson from Frost. This book was an emotional read and had me rooting not only for Andy & Leo but the whole found family. Sundae has teased the rest of the series within Or Best Offer, I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

Ok... I thought a lot before writing this review because while I loved the story, there were some things I didn't like so much. It was a story I was looking forward to even before I knew there was going to be one. And I want to add that I love this author's books, especially, The Lying Tree.
I was mainly upset by the reason Andy broke up with Leo, I was upset that Leo forgave him so easily, and I was upset by the twins. But... I finally thought: It's a young love story, where they started a relationship as teenagers, and where they reconcile as young adults. Of course they were going to make mistakes, and of course those mistakes would seem silly. After all, they are just learning how to live.
So my only complaint would be that maybe it needs a little more polish and a little less name-calling.
And if you want to read an entertaining, romantic story, where the MCs love each other deeply, and also, we have a lot of banter thanks to characters from previous books and series, this is your story.
I was given an advanced copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
By the first chapter I was crying. You know when it’s a good book if it hooks you in that first prologue/chapter of a story. This is my first book by this author but I will definitely be reading more. I loved not only the main characters but some of the side characters too!
These characters… where do I even start. This story is so heartbreaking but also so beautiful. Their once love ends quickly and yet they meet years later. I felt that these characters went through so much but they also learned to love each other again.
Overall, I throughly enjoyed this story. I was on a roller coaster of emotions throughout it and I couldn’t get enough! If you’re looking for found family, friends to lovers, second chances, hurt/comfort, angst then this is the book for you! Be ready for an emotional roller coaster.
I rally enjoyed the prologues - Leo's made me tear up.
I enjoyed the tropes - this hit a lot of my faves. I also enjoyed the characters and the found family aspect as well as the over rockstar vs NASCAR driver thing. I loved Leo & Andy and happy they got their HEA.
However, I feel like the writing needed some better editing to tighten up/smooth it out. There was ay too much repetition of "boo" especially, plus just a lot of going back and forth in terms of the plot. I really, really wanted to like this more and I think with some editing, I would have. I do like the concept of this series, so I'll try again with the next book.
What to Expect:
* first BFs to nothing to lovers * Rockstar MC vs Nascar driver MC * really cute WAGs text chats * found family * Second chance * Mental Health rep * Firsts
I thought Andy was the cutest thing when we first met him in Frost and he grew up to be a great guy even though he struggled at times. He and Leo are adorable together but I think I kinda love Leo more now. He has a heart of gold and will forever be anything and everything for the ones he loves. The WAGs chats were the greatest thing ever, I had tears from laughing so hard. My only complaint is that I think Dean and Beau’s book should have come out before this but that’s just my opinion. 🖤🔥🥁🔥🖤
My favorite quote from Andy:
“Baby, you weren’t born to blend in. You were born to shine.” I spun him around and gripped his chin between my thumb and forefinger. “Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle.”
You know a story is good when you get your heart broken in the prologue. Before going in I did not know that this is interconnected so did some digging and I now have about 15 more books to my TBR because I am obsessed with the side characters especially Ezra.
Leo and Andy were first loves they fell in love at 15 and at 18 Andy goes on tour and Leo starts his racing career. They break up 3 years later Andy is back to make amends and the emotional rollercoaster for these had my heart breaking and fixing itself over and over. I won’t give too much away because it is a journey with these two you have to go on but with all the heartbreak there are laughs.
The WAGs chat had me giggling and every time Ezra was being Ezra you were in for a good time. I do plan on going into backlogespecially for Mav and Jax story.
~~What to Expect~~ 🏎️2nd Chance 🏎️Hurt/Comfort 🏎️Angst 🏎️First Love 🏎️NASCAR Driver X Rockstar (Drummer) 🏎️MM 🏎️Mental Health Rep 🏎️Found Family
~~Quote~~ 🥁I would sell my soul to smack the younger version of myself and unbreak your heart. You were everything to me. 🥁He tasted like forever and a future I had almost given up on. He tasted like mine.
This was so good! I was hooked from the start and it never stopped. I felt so bad for Andy and his horrible anxiety and depression. It was very relatable. All his self doubt and panic attacks were so familiar and really made me feel for him. I also felt terrible for Leo, but admired his willingness to help Andy no matter what. The banter is this book is great with all of the side characters. They all seem so important in each other’s lives. I wish I would’ve read the books with the other couples, but it can totally be read as a stand alone. This was my first book by Sundae, but it will definitely not be my last.
I'm a huge MM Romance fan & the tropes and blurb of this book sucked me in which is why I felt extremely sad that I just couldn't get into this.
The prologues were interesting and I was so intrigued but I found myself disliking Leo & Andy.
I didn't like them as persons, I didn't like them as a couple, I didn't like the way they interacted with each other. I just didn't like them. That made it impossible for me to become deeply interested in their story.
That's just my personal opinion. This may be better suited for someone else who would absolutely love Andy & Leo
This book pulls you in from the first page, and does not stop! They’re young, so it starts slow and sweet, but there are promises of forever. Then Andy breaks sweet Leo’s heart by breaking up with him.
When the pair are reunited several years later, it’s clear that neither has moved on, and that something more is going on with Andy
Or Best Offer is the story of how the pair reunite, how their friends and family rally around them, and how family is more than the blood that runs through your veins.
MM romance first love mental health rep Rockstar NASCAR second chance found family
This is a story that has a lot of emotion. The angst and roller coaster ride of emotions will keep you on edge. Tears, laugher, joy and pain. The spice is there but oh what a ride.
Leo and Andy were each others first loves. They also experienced heartbreak. A second chance will give both of them a deserved HEA.
An emotional second chance romance that was neither a hit or a miss for me. We have a story about someone leaving his one true love behind while he goes off to become a rock star just to end up coming back to grovel. I enjoy Sundae Leighton but this one just wasn't it for me.Tropes you can expect in this story is Hurt/comfort - Angst - First love - First times - Second chance - Mental health rep - and Found Family.
Or Best Offer is the first book in a new series by Sundae Leighton and I can't wait to see what comes next. This is a second chance, hurt/comfort read about Leo and Andy with mental health rep and a bunch of angst.
This is a second chance with hurt/comfort and alot of angst. This is Leo and Andy story. This is a hands down masterpiece that I soaked up in one sitting. This is amazing read that has all the feels and emotions.
dnf. i had really high hopes because of the ratings, but this read like a wattpad book. Also, ‘whole’ was spelled as ‘hole’ in literally the first chapter which doesn’t give me confidence for the rest of the book’s editing.
I was so lucky to receive an ARC for this book and it was everything I hoped for. I haven't had time to process the entire book yet but it made me cry, smile and laugh. It was so perfect.
