Sparks fly as Seunghyun and Jongchan find themselves falling deeper and deeper in love. But just as their romance heats up, Jongchan, the seasoned pro, frets that his affection for Seunghyun might throw a wrench into Seunghyun's budding career. Can they strike the perfect balance between work and love? This volume includes the thrilling conclusion to Seunghyun and Jongchan's whirlwind romance, with the addition of the delightful side tale of Call Me, Ma Sweet Puppy for an extra dose of sweetness!
Honestly I dont even know how to rate this book. The sex scenes were so detailed and obscene I was genuinely laughing my ass off and learned some new vocabulary.. The couple is actually very cute I just feel so vulgar reading some of these scenes LOL and the actual office plot is so vague with what they do besides make ads that im like ok whatever It will pass the time though!
Not quite as good as the first volume, but that's very much a matter of taste. How so? Well, ask yourself how you feel about a book that opens with an eighteen-page sex scene and has a fifty-page side story that's 98% sex scene and you'll likely have your answer. The actual story continuation is solid, and I very much like seeing how Jongchan has grown through his relationship, and the epilogue is very sweet. But if you're not a fan of extended explicit sex scenes, be ready to skim a lot. (Which I ended up doing just because they were so much.)
"Go to those interviews like you're a eunuch with a last chance at fucking before getting castrated the next day."
After the conflict between our protagonists in the previous volume, it's time for the office politics to come to a head in this volume. Inasmuch as this series is about Seunghyun and Jongchan's relationship, it is also about Seunghyun finding his place in the working world on his own after letting his love for Yuseong dictate his decisions in the past. It's also about how Jongchan realizes how, as a superior, his decisions at work affect his subordinates. I appreciate that this series showcases the personal growth of our protagonists on top of the relationship development.
Jiyeon continues to be a gem of a side character. I forgot to mention this in my review of the last volume, but there is a really insightful and significant conversation between her and Seunghyun in the first volume of this series that I think will resonate with non-heterosexual readers. I didn't find her personality to be abrasive.
In a way though I thought that it was a bit unrealistic that Seunghyun and Jongchan can show such preference to each other in the workplace while keeping their relationship a secret; however, as Jongchan notes at one point, some people are simply too straight and heteronormative to notice. We've seen people excuse blatant gayness as "bromance" and "they're such good roommates" too many times to count.
Only half of this volume is dedicated to the main story, and the other half contains the extras that were also illustrated in the webtoon (minus the epilogue, I believe). I don't think that the main story is particularly short, and I always enjoy when a series delves into scenes from a couple's happily-ever-after. There is still one more volume so I expect that to contain even more extras from the time after the main story.
A veces, simplemente necesitamos ayuda.
