I quite enjoy this quick cozy read. Regina’s depiction of the current dating pool is spot on. My heart aches for Gia. Everyone deserves to find their other half and Gia had me rooting for her on chapter one.

This book is written in third person which did take me by surprise because I usually read first person. However, it is well written and I was easily able to get into the characters minds, feel their emotion and follow the plot with easy. I really enjoyed reading the chapters from Carla, Gia’s friend, pov. Carla is hilarious and while she may step over the line her heart is in the best place and her match making skills pay off.

If you need a cozy book for a evening or weekend at home, Dirty Hoe would be a perfect option. I look forward to the next book.

Loved this book! I devoured this book in a day. Definitely recommend it for anyone looking for something easy & cozy to read. I can’t wait for a second book because I definitely feel like there’s going to be DRAMA that comes from a small character, or I could be totally wrong 😂
Either way I can’t wait for a second book because I’ve become attached to the characters and I want to know where they all go next!

Read it, and you won’t be disappointed!

Super Cute, moves fast

This was a pretty good/easy read. It's fast paced, which kind of throws you for a whirlwind of ups/downs, but it works. Would recommend.

What a fun book!!

I loved all the gardening puns; Carla and Matty (but mainly Carla) were out of control and so unhinged in the best kind of way; so many puns 😂

I’ve already gotten Dirty Latte to read next! I love that this Dirty Hoe set up the café setting already; bring on all the coffee puns!!

Thank you so much to Regina for sending me the book as part of the TALES giveaway!

A good rom-com with some angsty moments…

Ok so… In real life I wouldn’t be able to stand Gia’s neighbors, well Carla mainly, but in the book, she made things pretty funny!
We have Gia, a mom of 3 and a newly divorced gardener whose tired of crappy dating sites that lead to the wrong type of men. Just when she throws the towel in, her meddlesome neighbor/friend, Carla, decides to interfere.
Bring in Ben, a man who played a big part in Gia’s life years ago and now wants back in her good graces. And let’s not forget Jen… a gold digging b*tch who tries to ruin things. (Couldn’t stand her!) - Overall, I enjoyed the banter and writing style, sometimes things moved so fast it was hard to follow but that also lends to the type of characters I think. I was startled by how quick Gia seemed to change her mind from being so angry at Ben, to basically going into business with him and deciding to start a relationship again. I felt like that turn around was really fast, but it was still a good story! Spice level at about a 1.5/5, only a couple scenes and not super detailed. (Looking forward to reading her 2nd book in this series soon!)

Organically fun romance 💚🌱

Oh my green goddess! I love this story! It's a cute, funny, slow-burn, M/F romance with just a dash of dirt. I enjoyed the suspense as it was building along with the two plots' twists and turns. And I'm not just talking about Gia's garden plot. The action moves quickly in most of the book, with a few speed bumps.

I especially liked the nosy neighbors - Carla and Matt - as they meddle with Gia's love life. I also liked the drama of Gia's quest for love.

I've read a few things between the lines, and I'm excited to see where this goes. I'm totally invested in Gia, Carla, and Matt - as well as Regina (the author) and her plans for this hilarious story.

I'm looking forward to the next installment in this fun series!

Several typos, but nothing too distracting.

Ben and Gia

This is the first book I've read by Regina Bergen and absolutely loved it! I haven't laughed as much reading a story as I did this one ... everyone needs a best friend like Carla and Matt in their life to keep things lively and interesting lol...looking forward to reading the second book in this series!

This book was wildly funny—the kind that actually makes you laugh out loud, especially when Gia’s best friend and her husband are bantering like pros. I’d honestly read a whole spin-off just to see how their love story unfolded.

Gia’s evolution felt very real. The backstory caught me off guard in the best way and added emotional weight. And Ben? He went from mysterious to full-on charming.

The pacing was snappy, and I flew through the pages. Between the unexpected twists, laugh-out-loud moments, and just the right amount of heart, this was a delight from start to finish. A perfect pick for anyone who loves gardening metaphors, quirky small-town drama, and feel-good romance.

Such a cute, fun, and quick read! I adored the neighbors- Carla and Matt. Good side characters are something I prefer to have in a story and they do not disappoint.

The overall premise of the book was cozy, fun, and well done. I loved the way the gardening theme and eco-friendly places were intertwined into the story.

I do wish there had been a bit more of Gia and Ben’s reunion; like more dates, and sharing how their time apart was, along with Ben getting to know the children.

The end felt a bit rushed and cut off, but that may just be because I really wanted more from their budding second chance!

An absolute fun read!

I LOVED this book! I was not sure what to expect when walking into this read. I have to say, it is SO WELL WRITTEN!!!! I loved all of it! The POV, the character building, the relationships... all of it.

If you need a great cozy romance that makes you laugh with a perfect amount of spice, read this book!!

I originally received this book as an advanced readers copy, but a family death delayed my reading it. I wish I would have read it sooner!!! So So So good!!

Well done Regina!! I can't wait to read the next book!!!!

second chances

I love second chances! I’m so happy Ben and Gia got theirs. I like how at first we get the POVs of two best friends. Carla meddled but it worked. Gia is lucky to have her best friend next door. I liked Carla and Matt. Wish I had Gia’s backyard garden. It sounds amazing. Loved the restaurant and menu ideas. I really enjoyed their story. Jen’s gotta go, though. Lol

I love a good pun. But as much as I wanted to love this story, I just didn't. It was all OTT never gonna be forgiven to completely forgiven in a blink, the best friends were too meddlesome for words and not enough dirty hoeing.

I'm not sure if Carla is a super villain or super best friend lol. But Gia owes her big for getting her back in contact with the man of her dreams.
This cute little story is about second chance love and forgiveness.
I look forward to more from Regina in the future.
