First person, contemporary, novella length. Cliffhanger ending that appears to lead to a HEA but I'll find out when I read book 2.

I thoroughly enjoyed this quick read!
This was my first time dipping into something a lot more tame than I normally read (dark/erotica/thriller etc) and what I experienced was nothing short of fantastic and will proudly recommend!

The flow was fabulous and easy to understand, sometimes short stories can make it feel like you get lost but this didn’t happen at all! It was very well put together, especially for a debut!
I loved Gwen, our MFC. I would have loved to see more character development on her features but I let my imagination do the thinking.
Jay, on the other hand…our MMC…was a combination of cute, nerdy meets hot demanding spunk😍 he gives princess treatment when he works Gwen so ✨hard✨ if you catch my drip💧… I meant drift.
But the ending?! LICIA, why you do me like that?!
Just when the spice was spicing, and “they” come in………. I have to wait for more of those app friends before I have my fill 😏 I’ll wait, impatiently.

Can’t wait for the next!

Licia did not disappoint with this spicy short story read! Everything about this novella was a 5/5.

The FMC Gwen is going through a rough patch trying to juggle work, school, paying for school and finding a place to live. A chance roommate ad listing brings her to meet Jay (a sweet nerdy grad student) and he offered her a deal she could not refuse at all!

I loved their chemistry and how Jay is always quick to want to take care of her and do little things for her. The spice in this was HOT, strictly 5/5. The things they did and how Gwen responded was *chef kiss*. I can not wait to see where Licia takes this story next!

I really wanted to love this book more than I did, but I felt like it dragged a little bit. I wish there was a bit more romance in it and more details on the spicy scenes. It was spicy, but I didn't really get a connection type of vibe. I definitely didn't enjoy how the story abruptly ended. I don't mind cliffhangers, but this ending was too abrupt for me. I would recommend if you aren't into a feelings/connections vibe and want a short read with some spice. The storyline was good and there was motive behind the main characters actions.

This was a fun and spicy read that did not disappoint.
The FMC Gwen struggles to pay her tuition. What does a broke girl do? well she gets a roommate of course! Now enter Jey a nerdy app developer to the plot. It begins with an innocent agreement but turns into an interesting business arrangement that leaves the thighs clenching and you wanting more of these two.
Gwen is feisty but innocent, you mix that with Jey's open mind and the fireworks were.jiust chefs kiss.

The spice is really hot, but it doesn't start until like 2/3 of the way through the book, which was frustrating. Leaving it on a cliffhanger was also very disappointing since the spice had JUST started. If the spice would've started way sooner, the cliffhanger wouldn't have bothered me as bad. I'd love to know what happens next but I'm too afraid it will be another slow start.

Wow!! Just wow!!
Lucia Dawn promised spice and my gosh did she deliver!! But you know what was great? There was an incredible plot too! I absolutely loved the innocence yet openness of Gwen, she is a loveable sweetheart but the handsome geek/smecks god that is Jake will quickly become everybody’s new book boyfriend I’m sure! Talk about the dream!!

This is a short story/novella that still feels like a full story, you don’t feel like you are missing out on character development, scene setting or plot but my god does she leave you wanting more! I actually don’t know how I’m going to be able to wait for book 2!

Licia promised spice and delivered!!

This short story definitely had me squeezing my thighs together.

Gwen, a struggling college student needing to find a roommate like yesterday, answered to a wanted roommate ad.

Jay, a nerdy app developer looking for a roommate, accepted Gwen's application.

Both needing a roommate are the answers to each other's prayers in several ways, including a unique business deal. It ends in a cliffhanger, and I can't wait for the second part to come out to see Jays POV.

This erotic short story had the perfect blend of introduction information and straight-up smut balancing it out well!! I love the roommates dynamic from the get go but have a feeling there's more to Jay then we initially get to see.

Short. Sweet. Spicy. 🌶️ 🥵

Gwen was the perfect “good girl” FMC. And Jake the nerdy- tech guy roommate. And I was soooo excited with the level of spice (I’m talkin’ thigh clenching) that Licia delivered in this short story. Safe to say anything she sends my way I will be reading again if it’s this spicy. 😮‍💨

I haven‘t read such good erotica in a looong loong time! Jay gives such a good after care that you just can‘t help falling for him. And the benefit parts? Excuse me…not sure but as a man I‘d probably would have had a tent in my trousers for the whole reading time!

I really need more of this! Asap!

Can I start my first official review by saying WOW?!?

I want to live this book.
It’s amazing how Licia Dawn has made this book feel so real.
In the beginning it was predictable BUT in the best ways, there wasn’t a second that I had any thoughts of “okay anddd?”.
Also the cliffhanger we’re left on really makes you want to get on your hands and knees and crawl for the next one. What in the world is going to happen next?!?
I wish I had more. I need more.

I cannot wait to see what else she has in store for us!

Roommates with Benefits fell short of its potential. The plot follows the familiar trope of two strangers becoming roommates and eventually developing a romantic connection, but it fails to add any fresh or engaging twists to the genre. The characters felt underdeveloped, with shallow backstories that didn’t evoke much emotional connection or growth. The dialogue was repetitive and lacked the charm or wit necessary to make their interactions believable or interesting.

The pacing also dragged in parts, with unnecessary scenes that didn’t contribute much to the plot or character development. While the premise had promise, the execution was lackluster, leaving the story feeling predictable and uninspired. Overall, the book lacked depth, and the chemistry between the leads wasn’t compelling enough to make this romance stand out.

For readers looking for a more dynamic or emotionally engaging roommate romance, this one might disappoint. But if you’re just looking for a quick spicy read and not worried about depth or substance then this is the one for you.

Broke College Girl meets Nerdy guy with a heck of an offer

Gwen is struggling to get enough money together to pay for her next semester of college while working, finding another job and a new place to live. While looking through the ads in hopes of finding a room mate so finds somewhere she can afford to live and when he offers her a job she is unable to resist.

This offer is unlike anything she could have imagined. the fact that she gets so much from it makes he weary but also exceptionally excited. This offer will certainly keep her on her toes but will also still allow her to complete her schooling.

It's always the quiet nerdy ones that surprise you. This book is fun and spicy with unexpected moments. It was a fun quick read and made me immediately want to read the next book.

Smut and humor!

There are some things a girl won't do for school. Being a pole dancer is out of the question. But Gwen found an even better way to make money and Jay seems all to glad to employ her.
I didn't expect to be laughing as much as I did while reading this. I loved the banter between Jay and Gwen. Honestly I as surprised by the even level of spicy scenes. With a name like that I was a little hesitant at first. But much to my pleasure and surprise it was more character driven than spice which I enjoyed.
I can only imagine the shenanigans that are going to follow this cliffhanger of an ending!!!!
I think I have to break my rule this year and read book two right now!

Can I just say, this book was fantastic! It was written well and though there wasn’t too much plot, the spice definitely made up for it!! If I could trade positions with Gwen, I totally would! I mean… come on?! Who could turn down her super geeky roommate who’s definitely more than he appears (trust me you want to know what I mean!) This book will definitely grab your attention, it grabbed mine, and I’ll definitely be reading book 2.
