DOGGING POTUS by Erik Schmidt
Mr. President was--and still is--a dog. He ran for president thanks to an inane Constitutional revision. SHRIMP was a demagogue. He was the actual United States president and the author of said inane Constitutional revision. He also wanted to bomb Rhode Island.
Mr. President was backed by Scarlet Fervor, a group of college students determined to unseat SHRIMP with their canine candidate. They were armed with Deep State “intelligence,” Jersey attitude, and a drug-addled Casanova whose best friend founded an ’80s hair metal tribute band. SHRIMP boasted a group of fair-weather Congressional allies, a base whose vocal minority was louder than a thousand volcanic eruptions, and a secret advisory committee that included a former football star, a Point Break disciple, and a fun-loving demon.
Scarlet Fervor were trying to save democracy. SHRIMP wanted a dictatorship.
If SHRIMP won, Scarlet Fervor were screwed. So, too, was a nation.
This was America under left versus right with the fates of freedom and Rhode Island in the balance.
Dogging POTUS is a contemporary fiction novel written as an oral history. It embraces humor and the absurd while recounting the craziest primary race ever run. Events from that time are relayed by the players who battled for each side and reveal, for the first time, intimate details about the most famous election in United States history.
