Mr. President was--and still is--a dog. He ran for president thanks to an inane Constitutional revision. SHRIMP was a demagogue. He was the actual United States president and the author of said inane Constitutional revision. He also wanted to bomb Rhode Island.
Mr. President was backed by Scarlet Fervor, a group of college students determined to unseat SHRIMP with their canine candidate. They were armed with Deep State “intelligence,” Jersey attitude, and a drug-addled Casanova whose best friend founded an ’80s hair metal tribute band. SHRIMP boasted a group of fair-weather Congressional allies, a base whose vocal minority was louder than a thousand volcanic eruptions, and a secret advisory committee that included a former football star, a Point Break disciple, and a hard-partying demon.
Scarlet Fervor were trying to save democracy. SHRIMP wanted a dictatorship.
If SHRIMP won, Scarlet Fervor were screwed. So, too, was a nation.
This was America under left versus right with the fates of freedom and Rhode Island in the balance.
Dogging POTUS is a contemporary fiction novel written as an oral history. It embraces humor and the absurd while recounting the craziest primary race ever run.
