Excellent

This was book number two in the excellent Dark Eagle series which follows a group of the Occultum( romes undercover troops) prior to the invasion of Brittania by the romans. This is turning out to be a first class series, with plenty of action and is a unusual take on the normal swords and scandals stories which are readily available. I read this on kindle unlimited and there were a couple of formatting problems but nothing too distracting. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series. Very Highly Recommended.

fastpaced

Fast-paced and nerve wracking, an absolute new point of view of Roman based novels. Some mistakes in names, for example it says Raven when it should say Talorcan, repeating words or punctuation errors but nothing that a new edition review can’t fix. The only thing, really, Mordred?

Brilliant Story Telling

I can’t wait for the next in the series. Gripping yarns superbly written. Stealth, subterfuge, hidden plots within plots, comradeship, wilderness skills and above all a story line that keeps you reading to the absolute end.

A good enough read

This book reads well enough: lots if action and adventure, albeit not far above a 'Boys Own' level!
Several holes in the plot you can drive a bus through and several annoying content and grammatical errors.
Overall though, not a bad way to pass a wet weekend.

Fast passed, well written

Really enjoyed the book. The multiple stories ensuring that it was a very fast paced and entertaining book. The end was not what I expected but clearly sets the scene for future novels in the series. Make sure you read the books in sequence.

This is a great storyline and I’m enjoying every page. A different perspective on the way things were done. Heartbreaking when you lose your friends the way they do

Good book!

Great story and would have given it 5 stars if there weren’t so many errors. Names changing e.g. saying you are going east when you wanted to head west, etc.

Not as good as the first book and a little predictable but still worth a read. About to start book 3 🤞🏻

Dark Eagle 2

A great continuation of the storylines. Two parallel adventures singing simultaneously. Who is the traitor and who is sponsoring him? Into book 3

Interesting preview of Roman attempt to make their invasion of Britain easier. I have to wonder, it's so detailed, were any of the founders of the modern special forces interested in history?

Wonderful

This book is brilliant, it intertwines history with the lives of the Occultum and how they are drawn in and affected by events around them. Wonderful
