A society gentleman with a secret. An art expert who can expose him. An attraction neither of them can deny.
Alice Donnelly prefers paintings of medieval people to actual people, and classical art to the nonsense coming from contemporary artists. She also has a healthy disdain for the rich and ignorant who hire her to curate their collections. But her family depends on her paychecks, and so she reluctantly accepts a commission to assess the collection of one of Britain's most venerable aristocratic families.
When she meets the handsome and charismatic Geoffrey on her flight to London, she makes it clear she's immune to his charms. She has no time for romance. Not when she's starting the biggest job of her career.
Except it turns out it's Geoffrey's family who has hired her, and now Alice must spend all of her working hours trying not to fall for her new boss. But much like a master painting, Geoffrey's layers draw her in against her better judgment.
As Geoffrey's secrets unravel, can Alice trust the privileged aristocrat with an artist's soul to see past her own baggage? Or is she just another way for him to rebel against his family?

Brittany Larsen is the author of fourteen full-length and three novella-length sweet romantic comedies, plus a couple more historical romance novellas set in the Old West. Brittany’s stories range across time and place, but they’re always about one thing: connection. They’re guaranteed to make you laugh and maybe even tear up a little.
Born and raised in Idaho, Brittany has spent the past twenty years (maybe more) living the California dream… If that dream includes wearing sweatpants all day and gorging herself on red Australian licorice–Australia’s second-best export (Chris Hemsworth being the obvious first). When not writing, she teaches hot yoga, walks her dog, and takes naps. Her sweater-sporting, mini Aussi-doodle, Bo, is her favorite writing companion. But her favorite people are her husband and three daughters.
I enjoyed this story as an audiobook. It is narrated by Corinne Davies. I loved the way these two described art. It made it come to life and even if I’m not a big art person in real life, this story gave me a new appreciation for it. While I wasn’t a huge fan of Jeffery’s behavior, I know it was true to himself. His attitude towards the situation he found himself in soured my view of him but I know our FMC felt the same way. Alice was extremely kind and understanding. I love the passion she puts behind her work and I love how she will try her hardest to help come up with a solution to help Jeffery. This is a dual pov, clean romance. It is a stand alone novel.
"I am in love with this meet cute! You must read/listen to the story to find out for yourself. I enjoyed every bit of this story. I loved all the art talk. She is an art curator and he is an Earl needing to generate income from the family art collection without selling off the pieces. No Swears or alcohol rarely mention or consumed, and level 1 kisses only.
I listened to the audiobook and loved the narrator. She brought the book alive!"
Geoffrey and Alice are really interesting characters. Geoffrey is an English Lord and Alice is a curator of fine art, especially medieval art. Their story is sweet with lots of interesting facts about art and the Thames River.
