Delve into this raw and intimate compilation of poetry containing themes of childhood trauma, grief, difficult relationships and mental illness. In the first book in this series, 'hurting' Iris Rose reveals her true feelings on things usually unspoken about. This book breaks through the taboo of struggling on your healing journey.
The 'Fragile Feelings' series serves more than a collection of poetry; it's a raw and unfiltered journey of healing, self-discovery, and the courage to face our deepest fears.
I’ve never felt more read by a book of poems in my life. I feel the tears sitting behind my eyes knowing that I’ve bookmarked almost every page of this collection. I hope that myself and everyone else that feels similarly finds the light they are chasing, that they feel at peace at some point in their life, and that they learn to love themselves for who they are, not who they’ve been painted to be.
This poetry collection is raw, unfiltered, and beyond amazing. As someone with C-PTSD feeling validated is so important and Fragile Feelings did that for me.
As a poet myself I know all the pain and anguish that gets bled through the pen when a hurt soul writes. And one of the most beautiful things about poetry is that your pain has the chance to become another's healing.
For anyone with childhood Trauma who also enjoys poetry this is a must read. It took me a year to read because I wanted to let each poem soak in, some made me cry so I had to put it down, others made me think for a while.
Iris rose has a unique and distinct style as well short lines, thoughts poured out, no rhyme but the most emotion. Definitely pick up a copy of fragile feelings your in for an amazing read.
It took me less than 30 minutes to read this book, so it is easy to read. A lot of the content was highly relatable, which was both reassuring and heartbreaking, knowing the author had been through some really difficult times that had left their psyche feeling somewhat fractured.
I'd recommend this book to anyone who needs a pep talk with themselves that they are not alone and that what trauma they went through is not their fault.
“help was such a foreign concept to me, i used to apologize for bleeding on the bandages they wrapped around my wounds.”
“i’m not sure if I’m more afraid to exist in the world around me or the world inside of me.
they both feel completely out of my control.”
I’m not the target audience for this poetry book, but for what it is, it’s pretty alright. Definitely geared towards young adults and I love that for them!
This book definitely brings you on an emotional roller coaster. If read properly it can really help you think about and understand things that you might now have before about your childhood. I’d definitely recommend taking the time to understand the meaning of each page as you read through.
This book left me with literal tears. I personally relate to what is written in it a ton, and I recommend to anyone who feels broken, who feels like a black sheep in their family, and anyone who is hurting. I never cry with books, but this one made me. It really is a treasure.
Raw, poignant, perfectly written. Digs deep into lasting effects of trauma in a way I didn't know I needed to read. I need to read it again with some post its and a pencil.
