I read this book while looking for a baby shower gift. I’m so glad resources have improved since I had my kids 10 years ago. Andrea Knox does a great job walking a new mom through the transition to motherhood, while talking through common myths and giving moms permission to experience all the unexpected emotions and feelings you didn’t know were coming. This will be my go-to book for new moms in my life.

“You’ll Bounce Right Back” is an invaluable resource for pregnant and postpartum parents! As a perinatal therapist, I was really impressed with the thoroughness of this book’s content, as well as how easy it is to put the author’s recommendations into practice. I have already suggested this to several clients and feel confident that it will support them in planning for a mentally and physically healthy pregnancy and postpartum period. I particularly appreciated the author’s perspective on finding your “parenting village”, and why that is so important (even if we think that we can do everything on our own!). I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to take good care of themselves during their pregnancy and/or after becoming a parent!

[I received a free Advance Reader Copy from the author.] This book was in-depth and a quick read, which is my favorite kind of book. I wish I had this when I was a first-time mom. Andrea manages to offer insights that normalize the motherhood experience, while also offer lots of easy exercises to help improve how you're feeling - cause who has time for more work with kids around! It's authentic and real and makes all the hard parts of motherhood feel normal. I am adding this to my list of must-haves for new moms!

This book should be given to every expecting and new parent. In my therapy practice, where I specialize in reproductive mental health, the painful myths debunked in You’ll Bounce Right Back echo through my office daily. I just had a session with a client who is feeling very isolated in her motherhood journey. I immediately grabbed the book from my shelf. And as I read aloud the chapter titles and several quotes, tears rolled down her face. She felt so seen and validated that a book was written on the very struggles she was so ashamed of. What a wonderful, compassionate book that normalizes these challenging times and includes such valuable tools and exercises. I'm grateful this book exists and that I can share it with my clients to help them feel less alone!

Even though I'm not a mom myself, as a therapist I'm all too aware of the pain and shame that expecting, new, and even seasoned moms can feel in the sometimes isolating experience of motherhood. Even being surrounded by fellow moms can do little to undo the aloneness, when our culture has taught us to hide anything that isn't joyful or celebratory about motherhood. Andrea Knox does a phenomenal job of normalizing and humanizing the experience of motherhood, while providing practical tools and exercises designed to support, encourage and empower any mom or mom to be. The format is brilliant, and I love the takeaways at the end of each chapter. This is a must read!

This is the real talk about motherhood, and the gentle support that I wish every new mom could receive as she prepares for this this big change of life. The insight and wisdom from moms who contributed to this book, the quotes from experts, and Andrea's own personal and professional experience all intertwine to bring a comprehensive and jam packed gem of a book. This is a great resource if you're an expecting mom, or to give to someone in your life. As a perinatal mental health therapist working with expecting and new moms, I've already recommended this to several of my clients, and am grateful to Andrea for writing such a supportive and needed resource!

I wish I had this book when I was pregnant and getting ready for my first child! I still got a lot out of it even though my kids are in elementary school. It delivers such valuable information with such warmth. It’s like talking to your best friend. I’m going to include this book with every baby shower present I give from now on.

This is such an approachable and helpful book for new mothers. I thought I was prepared before I had my first child but was still quite surprised at how difficult and confusing everything was. I wish I had this book back then!

As a perinatal therapist myself, I found a lot of useful messages in this book. Andrea’s writing is accessible and her voice kind and knowledgeable. I love that she places “the blame” on society and not on mothers themselves. Worth a read pregnant to prepare or at any point postpartum.
