GERALD BRAITHWAITE is every inch the unassuming man. An intelligent academic at the top of his game in teaching Forensics and Crime at Leeds University, he is sharp to the point of perfection instead? He lives a neat, methodical life and his students and community adore him. What sets Gerald apart from the other professors however is that he has first hand knowledge of his specialist subject. Killing is his hobby, and he takes great pride in his work. Co-ed girls are his choice of meat, but beware of anyone who crosses his path.

Enter ANNABEL SWANSON: pretty, fit, intelligent, shy – she fits his murder check list perfectly. But Annabel is not the average girl – she is a soul taker, redeeming lost innocents and righting the balance between heaven and hell. She works with the souls of the lost to get revenge and help the wronged cross over. She walks the fine line between both, and she is good at what she does. Like Gerald, she smells the blood of her next kill.

As Gerald grows more excited over his next conquest, he soon realises that Annabel is out to get him too – and there is no return from his actions.

I am a wife, mother of two boys, avid reader and writer of words. I sometimes sleep, always have eye bags and dream of retiring to a big white house in Cornwall, with 2 shaggy dogs, drinking wine on my seafront balcony whilst creating works of romantic fiction. All done with immaculate make up and floaty dresses.

In the meantime I nearly always remember to brush my hair, seldom have time to look in a mirror and write many, many to-do lists. I write fast paced sexy medical romances for Mills & Boon, and contemporary fiction and romantic comedies for HQ Digital and Boldwood Books. I always have a few books in progress, and am always jotting down new shiny ideas to torment myself with.

*I received this book from Bayou Brew Publishing in exchange for an Honest Review*

This story follows Annabel and Gerald. Different as night and day really. Only one thing connects the two; both live to kill, and both see the other as their next target.
Despite the fact that this is a short story, the story build to the almost unexpected climatic ending. The final few paragraphs will draw emotion from the reader as the story comes to a close.
I really enjoyed the divine intervention so to speak. The author's description was very well. I only found a single error in the work, though consider the author is not American, I'm not sure if it's an error or just how the word is spelled where she hails from.
All in all, I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a well written story that they can read on their lunch break.

This is a great story and very well written. When I started reading it I wasn't sure how it would all fall together with it being so short but the author did an awesome job. Gerald is a professor who teaches crime and forensics which help him greatly with his hobby. Killing. He knows how not to get caught. Co-ed girls are his favorite so when Annabel showed up in his class one day he knew she would be his perfect victim. Little did he know he was about to get a taste of his own medicine. This is a great read when you don't have much time.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. First off, this isn't my type of book I like to read. Second off, the author writes very nicely. This was a good short story for it's genre. I did not imagine a criminal as a Crime and Forensics teacher! That's a great twist. The ending leaves me waiting for the next chapter. The characters are described very well for being so short. Over all this book was well executed.

I did not think that the story would be as great as it was when I first started reading. But I love the fast paced plot twists and was extremely surprised at the ending ! If short, fast, and to the point is what you like - this is the short story for you !! Would love to read more from the author !!

This was a great read. The author was able to pack lots of twists into this short story. I was surprised in the end but not confused at all. I liked the pace and would definitely like to read more from this author, especially more about Annabel's life.
