The prosperity and peace that David and his companions have built is under threat. Kobolds and goblins are on the march… and something wicked leads them.
This will be no simple Dungeon run. Joined by his mysterious Soulbond, Telwyra, David will learn that his Bloodline and the fate of Earth and Tannoris are intertwined. To defend what he has built, David must embrace his powers and complete his party of companions.
Luckily, David has time — time to fortify the defenses, time to gather his allies, and time to spend with his women. After all, in order to succeed, David must know his new Soulbond as well as he knows his other companions…
Author’s This is the final volume in the Frontier Summoner series.
David has a fifth woman show up, a faerie beast-kin. And a dragon to fight. The fights were much better than the basilisks, who were dealt by lunchtime. In most adventures, after defeating a monster, you check for treasure. Nope. Not David and his ladies. This novel had a very slow start. It was long after page 120 before we learn that Telwyra lived in the faerie realm until being summoned, and though nothing was said, she arrived only with the clothes on her back. Before that were multiple scenes of David and the women getting to know one another, but only vague generalities for the readers. At least the fight scenes were more detailed.
For the most part I enjoyed the series; it started to fumble a bit in novel 8, but recovered somewhat in book 9. Most of the time, character development, pacing, and descriptions were consistent, which lead me here. This novel was better than book 8, but not enough to earn a fifth star.
First couple books were great. Men’s pulp action and harem love, last couple books have become a more….. feminine style of writing. Based on feelings and emotions. Not what I was expecting from a pulp action harem book. Made it hard to read as I find myself skipping pages of “a warmth spreading through my chest, a longing to explore the depths of our connection, to unravel the mysteries that lay ahead.” The action is missing now a bit from the book as instead of him working the homestead and fighting the monsters he stands around marinating in his feelings. Before when they puttered about the garden we got a good description of the actions they took, turning over the dirt, pulling weeds etc. in this book the actions were glossed over and it was more the feelings evoked from said actions. Heck they cleared a dungeon early in the book with a mass of monsters and I couldn’t describe the fight to you outside of they killed them.
TLDR more feeling focused writing less action not sure I’ll pick up the next books.
Adventure, Love, fighting and building a future. These books had it all.
I read the 1st book and was hooked on the farming. I like to farm a little myself, every year. Then got into protagonist and got into the peace of mind he displayed. Which not only help move the story along, but introduced all the characters. The fight with the dragon was well thought out. Many stories has Dragons as invincible, only with planning has Dragons been defeated. A very good read. The sex between the characters was love over everything, which made it sexy and hot! A good read!
This story was adventurous, heartwarming, tender, exciting and sensual. I laughed, cried and cringed. The relationships and love of the central characters provided a positive energy throughout the books. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work. A job well done!
I enjoyed the story from start to finish! The introduction of each character was very well presented, and the importance of keeping the family together and safe very refreshing. Your ending was also an actual completion of a story, well done!
This was the best book of the series. And I would of given it 5 stars if he hadn't thrown in the teenage boy sex fantasy bs right at the end. Loved the description of all the locations and the battle scenes
