Well. Perhaps this book caught me at the wrong time, but I lost interest in it after Chapter 13 of 43 and decided I did not care to finish it.

The story starts off pretty good: a cattle drive on a small ranch, a visiting friend (a doctor) who wants to get into the ranch business and also learns about a chance to help another doctor run a sanitarium for children suffering from tuberculosis.

There are three cowboys who get into various scrapes that move the early chapters along nicely. But I never did really like any of them, they just seemed too goofy and unreal to me.

The story takes place in my neighborhood, or at least in my corner of Arizona, so that was a fun plus also. AND Geronimo escaped the reservation and was responsible for a little excitement on his way to Mexico.

But then the coincidences begin and I couldn't deal with them. Or the racial slurs in the ridiculous chapter about wallpapering a room for a new resident of the ranch. The cowboys were at their highest level of clownishness here and I very greatly doubt any cowboy would have been so dumb.

I just couldn't stand it any longer and this book earns the title of my first DNF of 2021. I have one more to try by this author, who I became interested in after reading her book about a Saint Bernard dog. But I will skim through the early going first before making it an official Currently Reading. I don't want two DNFs in a row.

This story is in the early 1900's but is still in country out of reach for modernization. Thd one hint of it is the fuel powered stationary engines to run the water pumps.

The book stayed on track, even though ther several conflicts going on at the same time. I enjoyed it very much

Limber, along with Doc, consistently working together finally brings peace and security to those who suffered from the wrongs of the greedy! A slow starting series of ongoing excursions that finally grabbed itself by the bootstraps and engineered all things in the right direction!

A very slow beginning that didn't hold my immediate thought process was the detriment of not awarding five stars to this otherwise great American western folklore extravaganza! The Author's outstanding portrayal of how the good guys finally come together and prove their worth, is when the true story really began to evolve! I believe this is my first story by Mr. Hooker, but I assure all of you, "it will not be my last!"
The storylines successfully portrays the Author's fully intention, and definitely becomes more descriptive as the action intensifies! Too, the character selections were perfectly selected for their assigned effects! I anxiously await the arrival of the Author's next release! Too, I recommend this superbly entertaining story to everyone and humbly ask that you follow each new adventure, as the intensity only increases with each new encounter! Both western, and non-western readers will definitely enjoy following these characters, as they prove their worthiness with each new adventure!!!😃

Entertaining listening 🎶🔰

Another will written classic western adventure thriller novel by Forrestine C. Hooker about a young man 🚹 who goes west after losing a young woman 🚺. He is successful but lonely. But love 💘 is on the way. I would recommend this novel to readers of western novels 👍🔰. Enjoy the adventure of reading 👓 or listening 🎶 to Alexa as I do because of eye damage and health issues from shingles. Stay safe 2022😄
