Does the blurb reflect the plot: yes, it’s a great over of what’s ahead
Sum it up: “The world doesn’t need another anything, but there’s always room for a better something.” These words of wisdom come from Matt Jones, one of the three founders of Four Pillars Gin - a tiny gin company that started in regional Victoria which grew in leaps and bounds to not only survive a global pandemic; but to also win some of the most prestigious gin awards in the world, all the while staying true to its core values. I don’t know what made me pick up Lessons From Gin, it’s not the kind of book I’d usually read; but I have to say I found it an exceptionally interesting and learnt a lot from it. Jones has this amazing ability to impart a lot of business information but in a manner that is simple to understand no matter your level of business acumen. It almost feels like your sitting down having a G&T together and he’s happily giving you advice because he wants you to succeed, which is why he shares the highs and lows and not just the shiny sparkly moments. Whether you like business books, drink Four Pillars Gin or you’re just after a non-fiction book that is really interesting, Lessons From Gin is an excellent read and one which I highly recommend.
Who should read it: Fans of business and entrepreneurial books will get a lot of this book, but so will those that want to know more about their favourite gin.
