Hi,

My name is MIND GAME Challenge, and I am a firm believer that games, challenges, and mind workouts do bring joy—and there's 84% chance* I could bring joy to you as well. Having said that I warmly and proudly welcome you to the labyrinth of the mind, where the ordinary transcends into the extraordinary, and the very words that shape our world shake their capital 'S' to my enigmatic 'rytm.

I challenge YOU to reveal the meaning of 120 thought-provoking quotations that have never EVER been told before. I know this because my assistant, Lselie made them all up himself. These quotes delve deep into the realms of psychology, human nature, relationships, science, God, AI, existence, love, and myself.

Be aware that I’m not for the faint-hearted—I offer 13 unique and formidable puzzle variations (Weird Words, Filling Feeling, Vanished Vowels, Symbols' Symbiosis, Catastrophic Chaos, Silly Syllables, Crazy Crosswords, Math Myth, All-in, Chapter Master, Mirthsome Morse, and Encore Encryption) with 10 challenging boss levels, ensuring you will never get bored with my gameplay.

Traditional puzzles and riddles conclude when you solve them, but my puzzles only begin at that point. They enable you to explore the deeper meanings hidden within the words, rewarding your efforts with a profound sense of discovery and accomplishment. It's because I have ingeniously woven each quotation into two challenging puzzles. Solve them both to unveil the REAL puzzle, the unadorned truth concealed within my letters.

Some initial easy puzzles will yield to your intellect in a swift 10 seconds ("Look inside" me!), while others may demand minutes, hours, days, or even weeks of contemplation, whilst my rewards might linger with you for a lifetime!

I’m a test of your wits and intellect, a challenge that will take you from a mere observer to an active participant in the exploration of wisdom. Be brave, be smart, and beat me to claim your own ‘Genuine Genius’ badge!

P.S.: I won't mind ending up being overused in your toilette! ;)
P.P.S.: I am the best gift you could ever give to someone who likes mind-bending puzzles and meaningful quotations.

* A study by Aviva revealed that more than four-fifths of UK adults enjoy solving puzzles, with 84% having completed various types of puzzles in the past year.

Today is 04/20/2024, this is the very day when I was born 41,40983 years ago, message me on my birthday! ;)

I have a Hungarian self, an English self, and a Spanish half-self; luckily, they are friends (btw, sorry for my bad English!).

The best sport ever invented is rollerblading.

Nature's favorite color is green, just like mine.

Language is the music of the mind; Hip-Hop is the music of language.

My favorite animal is the octopus, the second most intelligent species on planet Earth, yet.

Hungary is not the best country in the world, but it is the closest one to my heart.

I have no faintest idea why I included this sentence: ¿Dónde está la biblioteca?

Economist by the paper, sales by the practice, IT by the field, and lexophile by the heart.

The most delicious taste that nature ever computed is salted cold roasted goose liver bites with Camambert cheese, fresh bread, and milk.

But first of all, I am the luckiest person of the universe because I have the chance to love my little daughter the most in this life!

Anyway, 'I'm just a regular, everyday normal guy.' ;)

A fun compilation of words games that really made me pause and think. I was fully immersed in the tasks, which I found to be a great stress reducer, as my mind was entirely focused on the task at hand. I mostly played around with the easy puzzles, which were fun and thought provoking. The hard ones I'll save for a day when I really want to challenge myself, because the hard puzzles are indeed hard.

A fun diversion that will really get you thinking.

What a very interesting book! I love riddles and logic and these kinds of games. I found the easy puzzles straightforward but couldn’t readily solve the few harder ones I took a peek at haha. If you love a good word puzzle, you’ll really enjoy this book!

Thanks for the gifted copy!

I really wanted to love this book. I absolutely love puzzles of all kinds and I consider myself a puzzle-solving aficionado, the more cryptic the better! I especially love solving math problems that have a bit of a twist. When I started reading the prologue, I felt I could relate to the writer and was excited to read the book as he came across as a genuine person that followed his own path (which I like). However, the first red flag was the comment "sorry for my bad English!", wherein I thought, "Doesn't this book have many word puzzles that involve phrases in English?"...hmmm. I put that aside and began at the beginning and then I was confused...the first group of riddles to solve were just sayings, some of which were just the thoughts of the writer and I thought that it was all very strange. How do you solve some of these when they are not well-known phrases but one man's thoughts put into puzzle form? Then I was disappointed.

I dutifully went through the book, trying all the different types of puzzles, some of which did not have very good instructions or explanations on what to do...and I was thinking to myself - is this part of the puzzle, or is it just poorly explained? In the end, the only part I thought was really interesting was some of the crossword puzzles towards the end of the book but only because I like to figure out clues not because I cared about solving the phrase at the bottom. I was also interested to try the puzzles that involved math sequences but in the end, they were not that exciting either. I'm really sorry that I couldn't connect to this book - maybe others will find it more to their taste. To the writer: I appreciate that this was probably a labour of love and I wish you many puzzle-solving hours and keep writing what you love!

As a person who hates reading self help books and finds them boring, I absolutely loved this one. It is filled with different types of riddles that you have to complete, and makes you think and work through trauma while you are playing games. It is especially good for people with adhd, because it keeps you entertained.

I received this eARC for my honest opinion.

If you love word games, riddles, puzzles you should pick up this book and have fun with your family, friends or even with yourself. I enjoyed that in this book you have different levels of puzzles and if you’re not able to work it out you can easily move on and then just circle back to the ones that you might need a little more time with.
This book you can read/solve at your own pace, you can try to finish the whole book in one sitting or you can pace it out. I liked that even the easy ones were a little challenging at times and really made me use my skills to solve it.
This book was fun because when I needed a little break between books or when I wasn’t in the mood to read I would just pick up this book and start trying to solve the puzzles. I was even able to get a few of my co-workers involved with helping me solve them.

If you’re looking for a fun book that will help you sharpen your mind skills you really need to pick up this book and give it a try.

I want to thank NetGalley and Lselie Blckbrd for the opportunity to review this book.

I received an e-book copy of this book through LibraryThing's Early Reviewers (which asks for an honest review in return. Reviews are not required but posting a review does increase your chances of winning in future months).

The reason that I mention I have an e-book copy is that at first I did not realize that I had to keep track of the solutions of each 2 page puzzle to be able to later refer to them for the Chapter Master portion. I think that would be easier done with a print copy where you could write your solutions on the page to be able to count letters-spaces etc.

There are easy, medium, and hard levels in each chapter.

I had hoped to be able to use some of these puzzles to engage my 80+ year old mother. Unfortunately, I fear that even the puzzles labeled as "easy" would be too confusing for her. (With the possible exception of the symbol/rebus type puzzles because she might connect the pictures differently than I did and come up with the correct words sooner.)

The majority of the chapters are very similar type puzzles (figuring out words and then figuring out the correct order of the words). Of the 10 chapters only 2 chapters (chapter 5 and chapter 8) have a different format with chapter 5 using symbols (rebus type puzzles similar to the "Classic Concentration" game show) and chapter 8 having themed crosswords. Chapter 9 does delve a bit into cryptograms by giving each letter a number. There are two bonus puzzles: a morse code one and an encryption one.

Oddly, the rules are located at the end of the book (after even the solutions to the puzzles). Each puzzle spans 2 pages and other than that, puzzles are not necessarily related to each other.

Chapter 1: you are given all the words and have to put them in the correct order.

Chapter 2: There are letters missing in each word. You have to figure out what letters are missing and then rearrange the words into the correct order.

Chapter 3: each words' letters are scrambled. Unscramble the letters to form words, then put the words in the correct order.

Chapter 4: Vowels are missing in each word. Figure out what vowels you need for each word, then put the words into the correct order.

Chapter 5: symbols are used to represent words. Figure out the words and then put them in the correct order.

Chapter 6: Letters of different fonts are scattered on the page, Identify which letters come from the same font, then unscramble the letters from that font to form a word. When you have all the words, place them in the correct order.

Chapter 7: syllables are scattered on the page. Put syllables together to create words. Then place the words in the correct order.

Chapter 8: Crosswords. Solve using the clues.

Chapter 9: Math sequences. Each letter of the alphabet has a number in a math sequence. Use logic to figure out the sequence and find the letters/words. Then place the words in the correct order.

Chapter 10: Each page contains one long word (with dashes or spaces that don't necessarily correspond to word breaks) Figure out where to break each segment off and then rearrange the words you've found into the correct order.

I was given a free copy of "Mind Game Challenge" via LibraryThing. I have not finished the book as it will take some time to finish all of the challenges. There is variety in the word challenges: unscramble the words, fill in the vowels, fill in the blanks, math, and I may have missed some. I started out being able to solve the first 10 or so, then it got very challenging. I think there needed to be more explanations in the instructions. I did not understand what was needed for some of the puzzles. This is a great mind workout and is challenging.

This book was full of brain teasers, puzzles, and fun riddles that are great for passing the time or giving your brain a little workout.

The illustrations were unique and eye-catching and gave the book a professional finish!

I think it would have been easier to enjoy via a print format vs the ebook, as the electronic format made flipping around a little more difficult, but I highly recommend Mind Game Challenge for all who love brain teasers and similar books!

Thank you to the author for providing this ebook for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

I got this book as a free ebook from LibraryThing.

This book was definitely a mind game. And definitely a challenge. Going into it, I figured it would be pretty easy since I thought I was decent at mind games. Turns out I was wrong. This book was a LOT more challenging than I was expecting. I barely got past the first part! However, these kind games are so unique and I have never seen anything like it—probably why I was so bad at it… Anyway, this book was pretty good, and I recommend it for anyone that wants to give themselves a REAL challenge.

A compilation of riddles and word puzzles and games that I'm sure could keep anyone busy and guessing.

Firstly I did love the front cover and I really did want to love what was inside too.
This brings me to the actual book! Personally I found it all a bit strange.
The solving of the riddles was a bit weird in the sense it seems you are trying to figure out the authors sayings rather than any well-known sayings.
The crossword puzzles were ok, but the challenges all got a bit 'monotone'.
I did still go through the entire book but unfortunately just could not get into it.

A new twist on word puzzles. It was fun. Some were extremely easy, and some took a little more time to figure out. You will need pen and paper to do the puzzles that ask you to go back into other pages of the book.
The author offers a badge and certificate of completion. All you have to do is write all your answers, send them to her. If they are all correct, she will send you prize.
I had fun doing these (also a little frustrated on a few). If you have a couple hours and like to challenge yourself, then these are for you.

This was a fun puzzle book. The difficulty of the puzzles increases nicely as one progresses through them.
I would have preferred some of the instructions to be a little clearer, but I was still able to do a good mix of the problems.
I recommend this if you like to ponder and tinker your brain when you have small moments to yourself.
Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of the book for review purposes.

я обожнюю пазли, всякі загадки і тд. на жаль, ця книжка не для мене. по-перше, наскільки б вільно я не розмовляла англійською, це все-таки іноземна мова для мене, більшість часу я думаю саме українською, тому мені було досить складно розгадувати ці завдання і загалом утримувати свою увагу. по-друге (це основна проблема для мене), завдання дуже однотипні, тому мені стало просто нудно і нецікаво після кількох сторінок.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I was very excited about reading this book as I love all things puzzling. I started to read and found that there were 3 main types, phrases that had vowels removed, jumbled up letters etc I did solve quite a few and thought it was an interesting mix of quotes from different people and by the author. I thought though. that with the hype of there being linguistic intrigue, a quest for the ultimate truth and facts traversing the expansive landscapes of psychology, that there might be a bit more to it than 495 pages of quotes in the three different styles.

I like the authors sense of humour and wish him well. I wondered if, going by the puzzles of the book, his name may me Leslie Blackbird?

I thank the author and LibraryThing for the opportunity to read and review this title.
