Double Impact

Rate this book
Two massive cruise ships collide. A mysterious power outage and ensuing fire escalate an already dicey situation. A dead body is discovered, having been violently strangled.

Does the blackmail of womanizing Cruise Director Leo Taggart have anything to do with it? And what about egotistical Doctor Taye Debre’s questionable past?

Beautiful and resourceful Chief Security Officer Rikki Abrams puzzles out whether these incidents are related only to discover a devious plot that could impact all she cares about, including alluring Captain Declan O’Brien who has secrets of his own.

Racing from one emergency to the next, Rikki seeks to stop the threat before it's too late.

This fast-paced suspense romance with a strong female lead makes this a pulse-pounding adventure.

I am the author of the Rikki Abrams Cruise Adventures series, which include Double Impact and Stormy Terror, action-packed suspense novels with meaningful romance. I love reading and have always enjoyed creating works of drama though only recently published in a style all my own. I also crochet dolls and animals under the name Shell’s Creations. Originally from Minnesota, I currently live in Central Illinois with my supportive husband (with whom I cruise regularly) cat Tosha and Cavapoo Ruby. You can find me on Facebook.

I never wanted so many guilty characters before, of course they all have a secret, just how guilty is each one? Read this adventure and you may not want to go on a cruise or if you do, you will be left pondering the whole crews drama. add this to your TBR, move it up and read the whole series!

Interesting book

I liked this book from the beginning. Interesting twists in the plot and very interesting characters . The plotline was different and I was pulled into the story. Very well written and I would read more from this author.

This was alright.

I was expecting a little more from this. Good premise. It feels disjointed, though, with no denoted change from the perspective of one character to another which can make it difficult to follow as you adjust. There were some characters that had a story arc, but I am still trying to determine how they were relevant to this. I may read the second one to see if things shape up.

This story had trouble deciding what it wanted to be. Billed as a suspense-filled thriller, it was certainly not that. Sure there was a dead body. But the characters were so poorly drawn and two dimensional that they couldn't carry the story line. Perhaps if the story was expanded and given "something more" (description, depth) it might have made the grade. Definitely not a thriller. I have been on more cruises than I care to count and these crew members were paper dolls.

A solid read. It was clean, it was very fast paced, but most importantly it was a book that went by quick!
I definitely recommend this book of you are looking for a quick read at the airport, train, or to read on a nice snowy day!

cruise

My first book by Shelly Pierre but definitely not my last. Great book even though I am going on a cruise in two weeks. Liked all the characters but Piper as I think she was too dramatic for this story, otherwise it would have been a 5!

easy read

The storyline kept my attention, it’s a very short book.
I loved watching the characters develop and the story build. The ending was different than I expected.
Definitely recommend this book to anyone who has ever cruised.

It’s a short story, lots of characters. Sometimes I lost track of who was who. I enjoy cruise ship based stories and it was a good mystery that kept my interest. For a first book the author did very well. I would read another to see how she progresses.

deceiving title

Not really about a cruise ship collision
More about murder & relationships
I did not enjoy it but others might.
