Plan Red: China's Project to Destroy America

Rate this book
"A much needed wake-up call that China assumes that it is open season on Americans." —Victor Davis Hanson "There is a Red Storm rising in the East—and America is already under assault from the Chinese Communist Party." —Lou Dobbs “THE EAST IS RISING AND THE WEST IS DECLINING”  —Xi Jinping, 2020 Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Chinese Communist Party, chairman of the Central Military Commission and the president of the People's Republic of China,  wants to shape the world in China’s image,  and in his conception of the world there is no place for the United States or even the current international order.  Noted China expert Gordon G. Chang warns that Xi Jinping believes he must destroy America to accomplish his objectives. And that Xi already has a plan to do it! Xi reveres Mao and is marching China back to Maoism. He is reinstituting totalitarian social controls, demanding absolute political obedience from everyone, and cutting foreign links. Closing China off from the world is an essential element of his plan to save the communist system. His isolationism and xenophobia evoke policies from the earliest years of the People’s Republic and during the two millennia of imperial rule.  And Xi can’t stop talking about war. More significantly, he is implementing the largest military buildup since the Second World War, he is trying to sanctions-proof the Chinese regime, he is stockpiling grain and other commodities, he is surveying America for strikes and sabotage, he is mobilizing China’s civilians for battle, and he is purging China’s military of officers opposed to going to war. While America’s elite thinks their country is at peace, China’s regime is waging its brand of war. The Chinese regime has deliberately killed Americans in great numbers this century—with disease and in other ways—and it has a plan to destroy America. The communist party-state in fact believes it must eliminate the United States to ensure its own survival. And to accomplish its goals, the regime is now fast mobilizing to go to war. China is preparing to plunge the world into conflict. In  PLAN China's Project to Destroy America, Chang China’s campaign against America excludes nothing and uses every point of contact with American society to destroy it. China has been attacking America FROM INSIDE America! China’s penetration of American society has been so thorough that the Communist Party has been able to kill Americans with impunity Xi turned an in-country epidemic into a once-in-a-century pandemic. This is the first time in history that one nation has attacked all the others. The Communist Party is using all its resources to support criminal activity in America, and Americans are dying as a direct result of those activities. Xi Jinping’s China is preparing to go to war. Not just “unrestricted war” or political war but “hot war” or “kinetic war,” in other words, war as Americans see it in the movies.  And China’s regime is planning to kill Americans in even greater numbers. It is marching the country to war. Americans, in the triumphalist mood after the fall of the Soviet Union, thought they should establish contacts with China. Now, the Chinese regime uses every point of contact against America, and at the moment the regime is overwhelming American institutions. The FBI is being overwhelmed, local law enforcement is being overwhelmed, governments at all levels are being overwhelmed, and private organizations are being overwhelmed. After more than three decades of intensive “engagement,” it is clear Washington’s generous approach has failed. America has not changed China, as everyone now realizes; China has changed America.

Gordon Guthrie Chang is an American journalist, lawyer, political commentator, and writer. In December 2011, he changed the timing of the year of the predicted collapse to 2012.

In 1976, Chang graduated from the Cornell Law School. He then lived in mainland China and in Hong Kong for close to two decades, where he worked as Partner and Counsel at the US international law firms Baker & McKenzie and Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.

Very straight forward and precise. Your understanding of the Chinese regime is outstanding.
My father was a lieutenant colonel in the army, and stated that the Chinese were the people that we needed to keep an eye on because of their aggression.

This book doesn’t even scratch the surface of the depth and magnitude of how CCP has infiltrated American soil and its citizens. A more comprehensive read on this subject is Blood Money by Peter Schweitzer.

This is an absolute must read for every American, most especially for our lawmakers, government officials, and civil institutional leaders involved in economics, education, and national security. Chang is an expert on China and he provides convincing proof, based upon extensive research (citing’s), exactly how China plans on destroying and replacing America with tianxia. In short, it is “by any [and all] means necessary” borrowed from Marx and Lenin but on steroids. This book is short and readable in one sitting, with lots of recommended reading throughout, but profound in its ominous warnings. We are used to playing international chess but our people love our mind-numbing video games, while the Chinese play GO while reading the Chinese Military Classics. We dither at our peril.

Interesting hypothesis on China’s overarching aim to be World #1. Xi Jinping’s obsession on destroying America and all it stands for, everyone else is just collateral damage.

It is not news that Jinping/China has been focused on America in a rather unhealthy way and in this book the author explains why Jinping feels the need to take it out. Jinping is not about making the world a better place either so should he ever succeed, we’re all in for it.

China, under Jinping, is almost a fully totalitarian state. The author also states that Jinping deliberately spread Covid-19 which is very alarming as most of us assumed it was a lab experiment gone wrong and they tried to cover it up. Allegedly the Chinese military is also working on developing further biological warfare aimed at specific ethnic groups, illegal labs have been discovered etc.

This book is so alarmist that I don’t know what to make of it.
It also makes you wonder if you’re reading a thriller because it seems quite accusatory and far fetched.

I would be inclined to take some of these allegations with a pinch of salt because there is just something that feels a bit ‘off’ about it and surely China wouldn’t just stand by and let a Chinese citizen belch such inflammatory accusations.

Thanks to NetGalley and Humanix Books for this ARC.

This book I read in one day and to be honest it actually scared me. Gordon Chang shows us the true face of China and we should be afraid. The balloons that drifted over our country from China, flying over our military bases and major population centers, the fact that China has bought large amounts of farmland in the US, many plots near military bases, the fact that Xi Jinping makes no apologies for wanting to ruin this country, economically, militarily, politically, scientifically and will stop at nothing, including genetically engineered epidemics that won’t affect the Chinese but will affect Americans and has tried once with COVID-19 and did you know the FBI has raided an illegal Chinese lab in California where hundreds of rats (some alive and some dead) were being experimented with dangerous diseases? Every American should read this book, it’s not pretty but we had better wake up before this country is no more! China wants to be the Supreme Leader of the world and we stand in the way!

It's apparent that Wallstreet (and Rand Paul) who are so opposed to disrupting global "free trade" with POTUS Trump's tariffs, hasn't read Gordon Chang's book on China's project to destroy US. Had they, they'd realize China isn't the "trading partner" to America (or any other country in the world). My hope is, the current economic stand-still with US-China trade, is hurting the China economy enough, that it blows out the hard-liner plans of Xi and its elk in China's CCP. And they go back to there longer term plans to conquer US and the world. And everyone should take a quick read of this book. Everyone, that is, who cares to keep their life running as its been for a while now.

Gordon Chang is one of America’s most experienced China analysts who has written a succinct, 90-page brief of the current policies and actions of China, known as “China’s Dream.” Formulated around 1950, the “China Dream” is a one-hundred-year national plan for China’s rise as a global power intent on replacing the United States of America as the world’s number one power. Using multiple reliable sources, Chang’s presentation provides extensive, verified information indicating the goal of the Chinese Communist Party, and their leader Xi Jingpang’s practice of conducting unrestricted warfare against the United States and the rest of the western world. There are 145 footnotes supporting the 90-page narrative.

Chang does an excellent job of reporting China’s vision for itself in the world beginning in the 1940’s, explaining how we got here, and reviewing the many means of war that China has already employed against the United States including its distribution of a biological agent, COVID, to cause death all across the world, to its use of reconnaissance balloons flying over America to gain vital intelligence against two of the three parts of the U.S. nuclear TRIAD (Bombers and ICBMs).

The greatest benefit of Chang’s book is its brevity of 90 short pages. This book is short enough to be consumed by America’s middle-class citizenry. It should be on the bookshelf of every elected official in America and in every library. Who must read it? All American history teachers in high school, all police officers, all local news providers. The threat is real and immediate and should be the framework for all political and business decisions.

The book can be an introduction to those with little background and interest on China's geopolitics with the US and its allies, otherwise it is just recap of interactions and events on both sides that the author used in the book to emphasis how Americans have not and should concern now in order to be readied for possible confrontation, which can be from the author's perspective, likely wars.

My opinion of geopolitics outcomes really depend on how the head of state of China and the USA act on behalf of their political and personal interest, sometimes placing people of the country in the backseat. Hence, the key variant here is when and how often the two heads of states are replaced. For China, it is obvious that Xi's regime stays with no end date, meaning their mindset to confront the US is not going to back off anytime. For the US, the president can serve a maximum of terms (8 years) with Trump just about to start his term this month (Jan 2025), meaning the US foreign policy and ways to interact with China can be different from before ... which may side with the thoughts of the author in his Conclusion chapter.

For so many who know next to nothing of all this, this is the book to tee off on. Lots and lots cover, tons of footnotes (about a quarter of book size). Doesn't take long to read and should terrify you enough to put down the video console and get cracking to learn more and share with others.

Just with it was longer - BUT then the average reader - these days - wouldn't get through it.

Bottom line: I recommend this book. 10 out of ten points.

Another conspiracy theory about the plan to destroy America. The content looks a forced one on blaming China for everything they do without good facts backing these claims. I read this because this is a recommended book from one of the major news, but after I looked backed, this is not really a recommendation, but an ad in the news.

My brother-in-law loaned me this book because he knows we have similar interests when it comes to nonfiction. Reading this short book confirmed suspicions I have long held that China means no good where America is concerned. I pray it is not too late for us to root out the inroads they have made into our government, businesses, and culture. If we don't, we are complicit in our own demise.

This is a harrowing account of not only Communist China's plans to destroy the United States, but also an account of how far they have already advanced toward achieving their objectives of wreaking havoc in America through infiltration, through illegal and often undetected immigration, as well as through exporting deadly biological weapons, including Covid-19.

All Americans should read this book and for sure, pay attention to it. This issue needs to be addressed quickly, quietly and efficiently. We are certainly on the precipice.

Good article

The author provides extensive references with a good summary rather than a standalone treatise with supporting references.

Recommended for the serious student willing to do the research.

Interesting but short read. Doesn't go into much detail or history, just a long article about China's ambitions and recent activities in order to try and build a case for its threat against the West.
