This is the fourth and final book in the Metamorphosis series, but can be read as a standalone. I personally had not read that first three books and even though I had no issues following along, I do wish I would have read the other three first just so I would have had more of the other characters backstories.
This was a quick read for me because I simply could not put it down. I absolutely love books that feature single parents, especially when they also feature a significant other who steps up to support not only the parent, but also the child. Nolan does exact that and then some. Overall I really enjoyed this one.

Sometimes I go blind into a book because I'm weird like that.. but YES SHELBY! Thank you so much for letting me read and review. I feel like I might not have bought it just by the description and cover so this is a nice reminder for me to not judge a book by its cover (pun intended).

Her writing is nice and the story is easy to follow. You get sucked into the story and it goes from cheesy to spicy, back to cheesy and on to a WTF!

Precipice: A Small Town, Single Mom Romance (The Metamorphosis Series Book 4) by Shelby Gunter
Katie is a single mother whose primary focus is her son and not even thinking about dating. Nolan can’t get Katie out of his head and pursues Katie with a passion.
I love how straight forward Nolan was with dating and courting Katie. It was refreshing to hear the words out loud when some books depend on implication of chemistry and wants. Nolan is a great balance of sweet and sexy.
This book has a good amount of sexy scenes. This book has a great pace where the physical connection between Nolan and Katie is a bit quick but a slower emotional build as you get to know the characters and they get to know each other.
It can be read standalone but it was nice catching up with other characters of previous books. It was always great seeing Nolan’s family come together and their banter. The epilogue also gave a great glimpse in the future with multiple characters and possible lead to a future story. I also hope sometime in the future some of the hockey players who made appearances in the book get stories of their own. I always love a hockey romance.
This is my favorite book of the series with Nolan falling first and being relentless in his pursuit of Katie. I totally recommend this small town single mother he falls first romance.

Katie is a single mother to the most adorable little boy and he is her whole world . Nolan can’t get Katie out of his head . There is nothing he wants more than to make Katie his but with her turning down at every step because she doesn’t have time for dating right now . That doesn’t detour Nolan from flirting and trying to court Katie . This was such a cute, quick read and a great wrap up to this series even though this is my first Shelby Gunter book . But it certainly won’t be my last !

I loved this book, I was hooked and almost read it in one sitting. Nolan is known for being a playboy, he works in a bar, and once the switch flips to Katie he is all in. The way he treats her son, swoon. Katie is someone I wish I could be, always the right comeback, her feisty nature and sailor mouth. Her relationship with her son is also envious.
I could go on, but I do not want to give away too much! I recommend this book and the series if you have not read the previous books.

When the dedication starts off like this you know it’s going to be good.
This would have been a quick read for me if I would have just had a day to read. Once I started reading I didn’t want to stop. It was also quick in the sense that, things weren’t long and drawn out for multiple chapters. Which - I appreciate. Nolan, who is known for being a playboy, turns out to be the boyfriend of all boyfriends. He falls hard and fast for Katie. And despite her reservations, Nolan continues to woo her and show up for. This is not something she is used to so her instincts tell her this is too good to be true. Katie is the feisty single mom, who swears and loves her son with everything she has. Katie and Cody have the best mother and son relationship. They have a great bond that warms your heart.

And speaking of warming your heart, her son Cody is the cutest kid ever. I do love a single mom but the times that he interacts with Nolan had my ovaries doing donuts. Nolan continued to surprise me through the whole book- even when I had to put it in the freezer.

This book made me cry, it has spice and a little mystery. I really enjoyed it and even though it’s book 4 I will go back and read the other books in this series.

And speaking of warming your heart, her son Cody is the cutest kid ever. I do love a single mom but the times that he interacts with Nolan had my ovaries doing donuts. Nolan continued to surprise me through the whole book- even when I had to put it in the freezer.

This book made me cry, it has spice and a little mystery. I really enjoyed it and even though it’s book 4 I will go back and read the other books in this series.

Precipice is Book 4 in the Metamorphosis series and I'm so obsessed with this world and these characters!
In previous books from the series Nolan has been a side character that I have easily adored.
I mean..... I'm still cackling about a scene from Book 3 when he walked in on Sam and Carter. Soooooo funny!
I knew going in Nolan was going to be a golden retriever and gosh this man lived up to every expectation plus some.
He had me swooning hard as his 'woo' tactics were strong. He was sweet, caring, thoughtful, humorous, protective and that dirty mouth at times... daaaammmnnn!
Could he be any more perfect? I think not.
Katie is an amazing single mother raising her adorable and sweet son Cody.
While she has no interest in dating she does agree to 'one night' with Nolan.
Well...
We all know how this kind of story goes right???
One night is not enough especially for Nolan who makes it his mission to 'woo' Katie in to giving him a chance.
I really enjoyed the HEA journey these two took me on. It had banter, tension, spice, family, friendship, romance and a light sprinkling of suspense and action.
Plus the sweet little relationship between Nolan and Cody was simply the cherry on top.
Loved and Highly Recommend. Can't wait to see what Shelby Gunter brings us next!

I really enjoyed this book. Nolan was so devoted to Katie and Cody. I loved the way he wooed her and kept showing up for her. Nolan didn’t just love Katie, he loved Cody too. It took awhile for Katie to trust Nolan, but he was always there when she needed him and never gave her a reason to not trust him.
I loved Katie’s relationship with Cody. They were truly a little team. And when Nolan entered their lives, he understood that and respected it. I loved the development of his relationship with Cody. Nolan gave them a big family to support them right when they both needed it.
This had a great plot and moved quickly. I loved the suspense aspect just as much as the relationships and romance. I loved that all the previous couples had cameos. And I’m hoping there will be a hockey series with Tilly’s brother in the future. But after that epilogue I cannot wait for Noah’s book in January!

Precipice is the 4th book in Shelby Gunter’s series called Metamorphosis. This story is about Nolan Ellis and Katie Cole, and is the last in this series. I love the Ellis family stories and have thoroughly enjoyed all the books, and Nolan and Katie’s book is top notch!! Small town suspense, opposites attract, single Mom, he falls first…it’s giving all the feels!! And the witty banter - chef’s kiss!!

I enjoyed this read! I liked the writing and the story kept me interested. Katie is a single mom and focused on being the best she can be for her son, but Nolan falls for her and makes it his single goal to be everything both her and her son need. It's so sweet! It's got spice too, but the vibe is sweet outside of that!
I do wish I had read the previous books in the series first so I knew the characters more, but it didn't take away from the story.

I love it when two characters try to resist eachother even though they are meant to be. Nolan was everything that Katie needed and watching them come together was a beautiful thing! It was easy to root for them along the way as they ran into a few obstacles. I feel like things escalated a little quickly at the end, but it was nice to get a little glimpse into the future afterwards.

A beautiful ending to a beautiful series. This was such a great read about a single mom and the love she has for her son. What's even better is the way Nolan comes in falls in love with not only Katie but also her son. This was a touching story and was so relatable. I love the relationship Katie and Nolan develop and the spice and steam is perfect!

This book was better than what I thought it was going to be. The fmc was a single mom and the mmc was have comedy and half dom.The way he was with her son had me fall head over heels for him. I want to say more but don't want to ruin it for anyone. Go and read this asap.

This was my first read from this author and it will definitely not be my last. I absolutely adored this book. Nolan is such a freaking cinnamon roll and he was exactly what Katie needed in her life. Also, little Cody?! ADORABLE!!! This book kept me entertained from page one.
While this is book four of the series, it read easily as a stand-alone. If anything, it just made me want to go back and read the previous books. LOL
