Committed relationships are Sonia’s jam, unfortunately, she chose men for class rather than deep emotional connection. When her boyfriend went AWOL on the eve of her parents’ funeral, with the funds meant for canopies and chairs for the event, she’d had enough. What she didn’t expect was her late parents’ neighbour being kind, and helpful. Sonia is surprised at the emotional connection she has with him, and without much thought, she proposes an affair despite the millions of naira debt between them. Edima didn’t even know his late neighbours had a child. Despite wishing to stay hidden in his home, he swoops in to assist her several times. When she returns the favour and propositions him, Edima thinks it’s wrong despite having wet dreams featuring her. He thinks he’s too old for her, yet is jealous when her ex wouldn’t stop showing up. Edima calls off the affair for this reason except Sonia turns up pregnant, claiming it’s his. How could she be pregnant for him when he’d been diagnosed with infertility?

Emem Bassey loves romance in all its forms. She writes what she terms a hybrid romance - love stories with bits and pieces of other genres. All her stories carry plus size heroines and she staunchly believes the world is filled with tragedy, so she writes to entertain and lighten hearts. Emem lives at Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and is basically a ghost to her neighbors.
Sonia give her boyfriend Sam some money to get chairs and canopies for her parents funeral. Let's just say her did her dirty. Edima her parents neighbor kindly helps her out. This book was FIRE!! It's rarely that I find a book and enjoy all the characters. I loved the story/series and I'm looking forward to reading the next book. I definitely recommend that you read this series!!
BOOK: LOVE'S PRESENT AUTHOR: EMEM BASSEY 👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽 REVIEW This book was really nice. I liked the characters and the storyline. We have Sonia, who just lost her parents and broke up with her boyfriend. Her older neighbor, Edima, supported her during that time, so it's not surprising that she fell for him. I'm glad she broke up with John because he had his faults, but she had hers too and admitted that. 👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽 Edima is 45 years old to Sonia's 28, so that made him wary of their relationship. My favorite thing about Edima is his friends. I liked the supportive healthy male friendship. Besides, he was a good man, and I was rooting for their relationship. 👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽 Their relationship was spicy with opened scenes, and they had a lot of 6. It was not too fast or too slow. It was perfect. I understand Edima's reaction to Sonia's relationship, but I wished that he had groveled more before Sonia accepted him. 👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽 I liked this book, but there were times I did not like the tone the characters used. It was unnecessarily formal. I wished it was lighter. And I felt like the funeral was not really Nigerian. Funerals here are always filled with bustling family members, and Sonia only had her friends with her. 👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽 Other than that, it was very good. And I would definitely read another book by this author 👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽👩🏽❤️💋👨🏽

I love women who knows what they want and go for it. Sonia is my personal favourite xter right now.
I admire the way she put her no-good boyfriend in his place right after she finished f*cking him. Oh my! That scenario had me laughing like a madt gurl.
Or the way she proposition Edimama, the hunk of a man who is nearly twice her age. Damn! She practically had the low key billionaire eating out of her hands. Or is it her madt, hilarious friends, Aquila and ChiChi. Those two are something else.
The heat level in this book is so high. Oh la la! Had me practically fanning myself and somewhere else... Whatever your imagination conjure is not my business oo🤣🤣
Once again, Emem didn't disappoint. It was a page turner and I love the fact that the three friends got their happy endings.
As for Edimama's ex wife, Ani, she is a disgrace to womanhood. Mtsheew
