***The Special Edition Paperback also includes the spicy short prequel "Lorelei's Dance".***
June is a geek girl, fat chick, and unrepentant romantic. She writes full time and is both independently and traditionally published. She also works part time running her greeting card company, Once More With Feelings, and is co-owner of the Pop Lit Divas Radio Show.
When not working, June can be found making jewelry, reading, cooking, or watching geeky movies with her husband and snuggling with her 6…YES 6, furbabies. Notice cleaning wasn’t listed…
When I started reading Romancing Lorelei, I was worried that it would be one of those romances. You know, the ones where they fall in love immediately, but I was pleasantly surprised. You get to watch Lorelei and Kaden fall in love over time.
I loved that the author took the time to develop the characters, even though it is a novella. You are able to really get to know them and you don't get that rushed feeling.
This is the second book in the series but it is a standalone. I like the fact that I can read this one and not feel as if I have to read the first book too.
Kaden is a great character and such a gentleman. At many times his character could have went a different way. He stuck to his gentlemanly charms and that's why we love him. =)
Favorite Quote:
" I can live without you. But I don't want to. If the day comes where there is no other choice than to go on each day without you it, then I will do it. But until that day comes, I will fight with every fiber of my being to keep you by my side."
I did wish that there was more from Kaden's mom, Tildy. She seems like she would be a great character. I wish she had more story time.
Overall the story was great. It is a fast read but one that is worth the time. It was full of romance and will leave you swooning. I recommend this read to any romance lover. =)
I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
One night of passion with the ever so beautiful Lorelei and Kaden McAllister never even got her last name. You'd think that finding this mystery woman would be easy in the small town they live in, but it isn't. When Lorelei's whereabouts falls into his lap, he is bound and determined to let her know he is into her. He wants to get to know her and see where this could lead. But he soon realizes that he is going to have to romance her. So that is what he sets out to do....
There is no denying the chemistry that is between Lorelei and Kaden. That is not the problem. The problem is Lorelei’s trust issues. Issues that very well may be the death of this relationship. Kaden is going to have to work hard to prove he is the man for her and that he is here for the long run. Lorelei is just going to have to trust her heart for once. Something she has never had to do before.
I loved Kaden. He is sexy, charming, and a pediatrician for goodness sakes. Where have all the sexy pediatricians been when you need one? Because the ones I've been to are nothing like Kaden. Darn darny darn! But this dude loves with his whole heart. It shows when he is with Lorelei, it shows in his practice, and it shows with his family and friends. Absolutely love him!
This is my 2nd June Stevens book and it most definitely won't be my last. I love this short story series and cannot wait for more of it. The books are fun, flirty, and a little hot. Ok, a lot of hot. Being only 60 some odd pages long, it is a quick read that will leave you smiling in the end. And you know what else is great? We get to see bits of Ellie throughout the story. For those that haven't read A REASON TO STAY, that was Ellie's story. And another must read from the author. 5 Romancing Stars!
This is the second book in the Oak Hollow series, and you’re introduced to another hot McAllister man: Kaden. Or should I say…Dr. Kaden McAllister. He’s returned home to Oak Hollow to continue his work as a doctor for the small town. When Kaden meets Lorelei he knows that she’s someone he wants to get to know. He tracks her down to the beauty shop that she inherited from her late Aunt and confronts her about leaving after a night of indescribable passion without a name, number or anything. Lorelei has her reasons for leaving, one of them being that her mother left her with the impression that men cannot be trusted. She’s attracted to Kaden but doesn’t think she can let him in. Lorelei takes a chance on him and sees that romance isn’t dead yet.
The story flowed very well, and I love that you get more than just a day in their relationship like in the first book with Ellie and Jake. In this novel, months go by and you get to understand Lorelei’s reasons for being gunshy about relationships. You also get to know Kaden’s reasons for being so passionate about being a doctor, especially a pediatrician. Both characters are wonderfully developed and you see them both grow together and help each other to grow as well. The end of the book was well done as well; there’s no cliffhanger and you’re left with a happy feeling that all will work out for Lorelei and Kaden. Pick up this one today!

I got to read an ARC of this book and can I just say, SWOON. I love all of this author's romance stories, but this one was a special kind of heartwarming. Lorelei is your typical jaded girl. She's got a good life and doesn't think there's anything--or anyone--more that she needs to be happy. Not even a steamy one night stand with Oak Hollow's resident (and I mean that literally, because he's a doctor) Prince Charming Kaden. He's got all the right moves, but even his considerable charms fall flat in the face of bold, brash Lorelei.
The chemistry between the characters is really well done and you can easily fall into their love affair as it develops. I love the setting and the details of life in small town Oak Hollow are well drawn and engaging. And that scene at the end? Wow. Blew my socks off.
I recommend this book to anyone who loves sweet romances with a little bit of spark. By far one of the best books I've read this year!
This a sweet contemporary romance. Kaden is a dream hero who knows what he wants from life. Lorelei is relationship/commitment shy but finds that Kaden makes her want to change all that and give a relationship a try.
Reading Lorelei's Dance first would give the reader more background for this couple.
I enjoyed the little things Kaden did that made Lorelei fall in love with him. The building of their relationship and the way this couple communicated felt real...romance story real but beautiful too.
I received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.
I received a copy of Romancing Lorelei from the author, June Stevens, for an honest review. This is more then a 4 star review. Most of the time we aren't looking to fall in love, but when it hits, it really hits... In part one of Romancing Lorelei, Lorelei is at a medieval festival with her friend Ava where she meets a man in a kilt, Kaden. They end up getting swept away in the night. Kaden leads her back to his tent where they end up exploring each other till morning. When morning, comes things change for Lorelei and she leaves the tent and tries to put the encounter out of her mind... Part two is where the romancing Lorelei comes in. Lorelei is not looking for love. She enjoyed her one night with Kaden McAllister, but she wanted it to be one night. He, on the other had, has been looking since the morning that she left. Romancing Lorelei is a true romance. It has the woman that has been hurt and is trying to swear off love, the man that wants more then just a one night stand, and then the sweet little touches that just make it a truly romantic story. The Oak Hollow series has been touching with the love stories. I am really looking forward to the next one that DJ Westerfield writing as June Stevens comes out with.
