With a father in prison, Ashley Rayburn has bounced from foster home to foster home and represents a real challenge to the social workers who try to help her--not because she's inherently bad, but because trouble always seems to find her. But her luck might just be changing when a new couple offers to take her in.
Outcast orphan has a bit of a rebellious streak, but lands in a cool foster home. No powers received yet, but I'm keen to see where they come from and how the rest of this short series goes.
Definitely onboard with this character, and though she seems to be aimed at younger readers I'd happily read more stories featuring her.
Artwork nice and colourful, too, so that's a nice bonus.
An engaging 1st issue, complemented by impactful visuals. Stories about children in foster care often make me emotional, which leaves me uncertain about pursuing this subject further. I do recommend this though.
