“You’re only level three? Tch… Go grind your own experience, noob.” “I’m not interested in boosting low levels. Go kill some Carnabbits or something.”
These and similar comments were the answers to Rockin’s question when he asked to join an adventuring party. Rockin was strong enough to kill a Lesser Trent by himself, but his level was too low for other adventurers to believe him. After all, Rockin wasn’t gaining levels as fast as everyone else did.
Still, exploring the dungeon and fighting monsters by himself was making Rockin feel lonely. He started to think it’d be nice to have someone by his side. Savirei, the sly owner of the diner Rockin loved visiting from time to time suggested him buying a slave. After giving it some though, Rockin decided he had nothing to lose to go check what the Slave Market had to offer and that’s where he met Ranalaiya – a half beast panther woman.
The slave trader was hard on the negotiations, but Rockin had a few tricks up his sleeve from his previous job and managed to agree on the price that he was able to pay, getting Ranalaiya as his new slave in the end. Little did he know that Ranalaiya wasn’t just another random slave, however. It didn’t make the owner of the Slave Market very happy when he learned Ranalaiya was sold for a much lower price due to the slave trader’s mistake.
Unfortunately, the slave traders weren’t the only Rockin’s problem going forward. With Ranalaiya by his side, Rockin started attracting the attention of other people as well, with some of them coveting to get Ranalaiya for themselves. The only way to protect her was for Rockin to become stronger, and fortunately for him, he had a Unique Skill to help him do just that.
What was about Ranalaiya that made her so valuable in the eyes of the slave traders? What kind of Slave Master Rockin would become now that he acquired the very first slave for himself? And will Rockin be able to become strong enough in time to protect Ranalaiya from other people? Read and find out.
I Don’t Want To Level Up (book 2) is the second book in the series, which is work of fiction. It includes fantasy isekai, gamelit, LitRPG elements, dungeon exploration, unconventional (harem) relationships and some adult sexual content.
This book represents a dramatic improvement on the first. That doesn't mean this series is harem in any way, shape, or form at this point.
The MC's weird leveling mechanism is still in play, and he does spend a portion of this book still soloing everything. However, at one point, someone clues him in that he can purchase a slave to adventure with him. And so he goes to the slave market, and finds a super rare female slave of a very wanted race that happens to be in the wrong place, so he gets her for a massive discount. He gets her some basic clothing and gear, and proceeds to power level her up.
By the end of the book, the MC is still a virgin. He has some intimate moments with the slave, which is eager to get to. He also gets some non-penetrative action from another woman that owns/works for a eatery near the end of the book. And a female adventurer with another group is showing some interest in the MC. But he's turned down opportunities from two different women to have sex, and the slave would do it if he would let her.
The plot is getting better, though. So this reaches 3.5 stars.
If you read the first one and found it a bit (or mire) rough, then this book is for you. It is a contuation of the first book, but the rough edges have been (almost) completely polished up. Give this one a shot.
I thoroughly enjoyed this. An actual love story with a bad ass cat girl. Only a couple of spelling errors so the story stays highlighted and the epilogue was good
