Reenact Missions: The Post-Pentecost Pattern
Great Commission fulfillment requires faith. That means that we must understand precisely what Jesus told His disciples to do after Pentecost and how they demonstrated it. Once we understand that framework clearly, then we must implement appropriate methods to accomplish the objectives of the Great Commission in the modern world. Real faith inspires faithfulness.
My colleagues and I are astounded by the confidence we have gained since rededicating ourselves to practice the essentials of the post-Pentecost missions pattern. That includes living in the Spirit and applying a hermeneutically-sound missions strategy. Implementing the Great Commission plan the way the early disciples did has resulted in a closer walk with the Savior and amazing church planting breakthroughs worldwide, especially in the Muslim world.
In addition to a heightened expectation of breakthroughs, we’ve experienced a dramatic improvement in the quality and quantity pertaining to each activity of missions. To disciple the lost world for the glory of Jesus Christ, we must reevaluate preferred methods, slogans, and cliches by returning to the essence of New Testament missions. This book teaches how we can emulate the pattern demonstrated by first-century missionary teams as they proclaimed the gospel, planted healthy churches, discipled believers, and equipped leaders.
