Dani is determined to change. Trodden down by her abusive stepdad, neglectful mother, and nonexistent social life, Dani decides to leave it all behind—she flees into the night and finds herself in a dark, and strangely wondrous, new world, a world unknown to most humans.
However, destiny is an unpredictable force. Through a peculiar turn of events, she unknowingly gets entangled in a brutal war waging between two factions of vampires.
The Ruemisuds are a technologically advanced, elite vampire society that wants absolute control. They will stop at nothing to get it, including experimenting on unsuspecting humans and decimating the Rhowels, a clandestine, rebel clan of vampires. But the Rhowels possess a key to survival that the Ruemisuds desperately want, which they will protect until the bitter end.
Dani's riveting journey has just begun in this beautiful tale of love, hate, betrayal, and, above all, survival. The war is escalating quickly and Dani is determined to survive. Who will help her? Who will win the war?

4 VAMPIRE LOVIN' STARS!
Dark Incidence is a vampire story unlike any other that I’ve read before. I loved many aspects of this book. The characters were very likable, chapters flowed well with good pacing, scenes were described perfectly and the editing was practically flawless. This story is mostly told in alternating POV’s between Paul and Dani, with the exception of the prologue. Dani and Paul have different struggles and scenarios to contend with but they are both equally interesting to read and learn about.
The author in my opinion does a very thorough job with character development. She slowly introduces every vital character to the reader at just the right moment. However, I do feel that Matt and Danis relationship could have been a little more in-depth. I had some trouble personally relating to their emotions and actions toward one other, simply because everything happened so fast between them. I still very much enjoyed their journey together nonetheless.
The ending of Dark Incidence will definitely leave you wondering to yourself, “What will happen next to everyone involved?” I HIGHLY recommend this book to those that enjoy a vampire rival storyline, filled with little tidbits of romance throughout. The tension between the Ruemisuds and Rhowels is very strong and quite intriguing. I seriously can’t wait until the next installment of this series!
Overall, I give Dark Incidence, 4 VAMPIRE LOVIN’ STARS!
This book was gifted from the Author for an honest review. We gave this book 5 stars. This review was left by Melissa a Book Worms Reviewer. Thank you Melissa.

Trying to save her friend and herself she has to learn that life (even as a vampire) isn't always going to be easy. Follow Dani as she discovers the hard knocks in life while trying to stay true to herself.
My take
Well I'm not usually big on paranormal books but this one was worth it. I couldn't help but be swallowed in to the characters and the twists that were their lives. Having the book go from Dani to Paul was seamless and though I have read books that have confused me with the simultaneous stories I was not with this one. I felt the love story part of it went really fast for me but in a way it made sense as well. I liked Matt and Dani.
The writing was excellent and very descriptive. Sometimes when things are too descriptive it can make a book mundane but I didn't feel this way. I was impressed and encourage everyone to read it. I do look forward to the next book to see what happens. The ending to this one was least to say gripping and frustrating that it ended.
Dani has had enough...she wants out of her abusive step-father's home. She has no social life, no friends, her mother is being abused and is no help...so Dani decides to runaway. The night she runs away is the night everything for her changes. She finds herself thrust into the mysterious world unknown by humans. She finds herself stuck in the middle of a war between two factions of Vampires. The Ruemisuds which are technologically advanced and the elite society which has control, and the Rhowels who are the rebel faction that holds the key to survival and will protect it at all costs. Dani finds herself on a strange and frightening journey, but learns that every journey has a purpose.
A.G. Liam writes so beautifully and it's no wonder I fell for this story the moment I started reading it. Dark Incidence starts with Dani trying to save a friend from a hideous monster and then back tracks to her deciding to run away. This story does this often back and forth working its way to the point of everything coming together and the reader having an "Aha" moment. It might confuse some but it worked so well for this story. There were parts of the story (not gonna ruin it) that I just couldn't read due to the gruesome factor (heebie jeebies) other than that it was well worth it. I could totally see this as a movie some day. I couldn't put this book down and would recommend it to others, and finally cannot wait for the next book!

I was gifted a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Dani is a loner, she likes to keep to herself not drawing attention and her home life isn't that great either. Stan is her abusive step dad and her mum who will do nothing because she lives in fear from Stan, so she decides to run away she doesn't want to leave her mum but she can't take it anymore after everything and she does something about it.
Out on her own she has no where to go when all of a sudden she is attacked and she has no turned into something that will change her life forever. This book is dual POV with Dani telling her story and so does her brother Paul who has his own story to tell.
Things are not what they seem between the Ruemisuds and the Rhowels the two different factions of vampires Paul dosen't know what to believe and Dani seems to have a part in it and she doesn't know the power she holds.
There is some romance in the book when it happens it feels rushed I understand the rush part in a way but I did not like where it went. Also has a warning this book is very gory, the descriptions are graphic and it can and will turn your stomach, I didn't mind it but some people won't like it.
I enjoyed this book I didn't realize there would be a second book it isn't a cliffhanger it will just continue the story from where it left off, I will read the second book to find out how everything goes down. This was a good debut from the author and I look forward to more of her books.
I was provide a copy of this book by the Author for an honest review.
I just finish reading this book and love it, this is not your typical Vampire book at all, I love the characters and love it how this a dual POV, I am gone keep this short since I don't want to give anything away.
Dani is a loner she don't have friends and she is trying to survive, she has being abuse by her step father, and her mother is no help at all since she is also being abuse and afraid of Stan, until she turn eighteen that's when she decide to run away, what she was not expecting was for her to be out on the street and get attack, and to be turn into a Vampire, on the other end Paul is out with his friends into he gets to a town and they don't see no cars it feel like a ghost town, that's when they have an encounter with a strange man, that was the night that also change Paul life. now Dani and Paul are leaving different life and they want to make the best of it, I really enjoy and love reading this book, and cant wait to read the next book, love it how theirs is a little romance going on and love their attitude, like I said this is not your typical vampire book, and their is a lot going on in this book, Author A.G. Liam THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome book and this amazing characters love it.
Dark Incidence by A.G. Liam it's a wonderful debut novel. I was given an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review. It is not your typical vampire novel. Dani is the main character, she's a loner who's just trying to survive her abusive and alcoholic step father and checked out mom until her 18th birthday. Her life has been a living hell for the past two years since her brother's death. She and her mother are no longer allowed contact with Dani's grandma as Stan the step father does not approve. From the prologue the story grabbed me from the first sentence and would not let go until the very last sentence. Parts were pretty intense and graphically gory- I have a bit of weak stomach and I will admit to skimming those sections. I also had a hard time with the actions of some of the characters, to me their actions don't seem to make sense. Good or bad A.G. Liam's characters make you feel something. Overall I enjoyed reading Dark Incidence and am looking forward to reading book two which is advertised as coming soon. If you can stomach the graphically gory parts (or can just skim them like I did) and like paranormal, sci fi & tech than this should go into your to read pile.
Did I enjoy this book: I did enjoy it. This is a great story. I was engrossed and engaged from start to finish.
The prologue had me hooked. I liked that it was from Matt’s point of view. (The rest of the book is told from a different view point.) It was scary. It had action. It grabbed me. It was a good start to a good read.
I felt almost every emotion out there. I felt with the characters, I felt for the characters, I felt it all. Some parts were rather gruesome; some just gross. I cringed and wanted to cover my eyes. Those scenes are not for those with a weak stomach. Some parts had me shaking my head in disbelief at the characters’ actions, at their naivete. The love story was sweet. It wasn’t quite insta-love, but close.
Would I recommend it: I would.
Will I read it again: I will not. But I am looking forward to the next book.
(I received a copy of this book for review purposes. Although I was compensated for the editing work, it in no way affected the outcome of my review. My review is my honest opinion of the book.)
I loved this book. A completely new type of vampire book. It was a little gory at times but it didn't bother me too much. Dani is independent and strong. I love her character. Paul is a great character as well. Told from both of their points of view it was really great. It flowed smoothly and was the perfect read for me.
Two different vampire sanctions here. Dani seems to be in the middle of them. It has a great story line that will keep you hooked. I couldn't put this book down. I still want more and look forward to reading on in this series. A really great read that will keep you on the edge of your seat. There was a little romance but not much. It was a little fast paced on the romance side but I didn't read this book for the romance.
Dark Incidence by A.G.Liam Is one of my favorite books of the year!!! It's a paranormal/romance novel. Dark Incidence in my opinion, is a great story with a great set of characters. The book is virtually about a girl who runs away from her abusive home and gets turned into something more. Now, I don't want to be to spoiler(y) just know that you will not be disappointed with this book! Also, it is written in first person (which I love). I give this book 10/10
The cover and the premises caught my attention. It was a kindle read. It was ok when I read it first. A vampire romance with a relatable, underdog protagonist.
It starts off with Dani who lives with her mum and her abusive step dad, Stan. She leads a really horrible homelife, and because of this, she shies away from people at school, blending into the background, wearing long sleeves to hide any bruises.... Its not always been this bad....her older brother, Paul, was killed 2 years ago in a town quite a way away - they found his car incinerated and came to the conclusion that he and his 3 friends were inside at the time. Since then Stan had got worse.....
Dani resolves to run away. In the middle of the night, when everyone is asleep she flees, with just a back pack....but she doesnt get very far.....while waiting for a bus to arrive she hears a baby cry in the dark alley next to her....she wrestled with her conscience deciding she couldnt leave it....all the time knowing it could be a trap.... ...and it was...she was attacked by this huge flying beast that tore her shoulder and bit her. Running as fast as she could, which wasnt very fast, she finds shelter in a deserted warehouse. Laying down, believing she was dying, she asked her brother to be where she goes.
The next day she awakes. Strange. her wounds were all healed, and she felt....great. She smiled, goes out into the sun and nearly fries herself. she works out fast shes a vampire. She learns to live on rats blood....hiding by day, coming out at night...... One night she spots her all time crush Matt...and the flying beast was after her - her immediate thought was to get him to safety. Shoving him in a mens toilet she tries to explain about the beast....but he doesnt listen.... Watching in horror, Matt is too attacked. Filled with rage she kicks the beast away and drags Matt to her hide out. Surprisingly he adapts quicker than she did, and admits a crush on her.
Everything for once for Dani....was perfect...well, apart from the vampire bit!
Then one night Matt goes to meet his best friend.......he brings a wooden bat, and accidentally kills Matt.
In agony, hurt and heart broken, Dani waits for the sun and plants the broken wooden bat facing up - either way shes leaving this world to be with Matt.....
.....one minute before sunrise, shes yanked out....by Paul. They run to her building and make it in time.
Question time for Paul. Turns out there are two fractions of Vamps - the Ruemisuds and the Rhowels. Paul was picked up that night by the Ruemisuds and turned into basically a killing machine -the soldier he always wanted to be....but things arent what they seem.....
Before any conversation is said the head of the Rhowels, who the Ruemisuds have stressed are rebels and to be eliminated at all cost, appears at Dani's hide out with support.
Theyre taken to their headquarters... Where their eyes are opened even more....
A really surprisingly good read and im itching for the next one, so i hope its not to long to wait!!
Read on behalf of BOOK ENTHUSIAST TOURS for an honest review
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I completely expected a book about vampires when I signed up to review this book; what I did not expect was a little bit of science fiction and a tab bit of dystopian (in that the vampires are creating their own world apart from everything else), and maybe just a little bit of horror (because there is a lot of blood and gore in some places). Vampires, for the most part, have been written into the ground. You can find them in all shapes and sizes, those that sparkle, vegetarian vampires, human loving vampires…the list goes on and on. While this book does embody some of those clichés, it’s story unlike any other that I have read before. I guess you could liken it to Underworld, but instead of Vampires versus Lycans, it’s one vampire sect versus another.
The book starts out with Dani trying to save her friend; then we are propelled into the past. The story is told with alternation POVs between Dani and her brother Paul. They are each facing their own struggles to come to grips with what they are and what they have to do to survive. Dani is on her own and Paul was taken in by the Ruemisuds and made a soldier. Each chapter brings us closer to events in the present and finally culminate and you get that “AH HA” moment.
The only flaws I found was in the relationship that develops between Matt and Dani. Everything seemed to move super fast and his reactions to the whole situation just seemed a little too unrealistic. But I did like the fact that Dani finally found someone who would accept her for who she was and made her feel like she had finally found her place in the world.
The conflict between the Ruemisuds and Rhowels was very interesting. We don’t learn a whole lot about the Rhowels in this book, only what we are told from the Ruemisud point of view. They are the bad guys. They are ruining everything. I did get the feeling early on in this book that the Ruemisuds most definitely felt superior to everyone else. They are wealthy, powerful, hold influence over some portions of the human government, have technology that humans can only dream about, but above all else feel that the Rhowels are the lowest vampire lifeforms out there and should be exterminated.
In the end both Dani and Paul have a choice about whose side they are going to join. Paul already knows what the Ruemisuds are capable of and is just getting to know the Rhowels. Dani feels like the Rhowels have taken her into their society and like she is where she belongs. Which side will they choose to fight for?
The ending will leave you wondering what is going to happen next. It’s not a cliffhanger really, but leaves you with just enough information to keep you on edge until the next installment comes out. I highly recommend this book to those who enjoy a unique vampire story, with a splash of this and a little bit of that thrown in for good measure.

I enjoyed this book a lot, it wasn’t exactly what I expected though, but still liked it. I think the author did a great job at telling this story, and liked the duel point of views from Dani and her older brother Paul. Though the prologue is from Matt’s point of view. I wish there was more of Matt in this, and hated that his part was so short. I didn’t feel what happened was necessary at all, and actually made the story fall flat at that point for me. I did finish the book, but my enthusiasm was not there as much.
I felt that Mat and Dani’s relationship could have been a bit more in-depth though, I had a bit of trouble relating to their emotions and actions towards each other, I guess mainly because it happened super fast.
I think one flaw that just didn’t sit well with me, is Matt’s reactions to the situation they are in, just took to what happened too easy, and it was unrealistic as was that fast relationship. I was glad that Dani found someone who accepted her and he made her feel like she was loved.
I will say this book is not for the weak of the stomach. Some scenes are downright horrid in a torture kind of way. Just awful, what was described was described too well, where I could see it, and gave me chills. So even though the scenes were disturbing, they showed how great this author is.
I do highly recommend this to the paranormal lovers who do not mind some gore in their books. The romance is short, and only takes place in a very small part of the book, so people looking for romance will not be satisfied I do not think.
I give it 4 out of 5 stars. I do recommend it, and would read any future books for sure.

Dark Incidence is about a girl who lives in an abusive home and decides to run away from home. When she runs away she is attacked and is turned into something that she is not expecting.
Dark Incidence is a good story with a good story line. It was interesting the different world that was described and it was a cross between Paranormal and fantasy. I liked this book as it kept you wanting to know what was going to happen first. There were a couple of things I would like to point out that I personally did not like. It was written in first person. I generally do not like first person writing since it seems to have a hard time flowing. That is the way this book was for me, but I still could not put this book down. Also, the romance was a bit rushed in my opinion. Other than those complaints it was really good story. IF you can get past the first person writing and the rushed romance, the story itself was very well thought out and interesting. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series. This first book did leave off making you want more.
Dani is bored with her life and decides to duck out and leave everything behind. Disappearing into the night she becomes intrenched in a new world she never knew existed. Suddenly, she finds herself at the heart of a war between vampire sectors—the Ruemisuds and the Rhowels. The former are technologically savvy, the latter are rebellious and stealthy. Plus, they are holding the key to survival that the Ruemisuds want to get their hands on and are determined to protect it, no matter what.
I was hooked on Dani’s story from the first chapter. The storyline was twisting and unpredictable, written in an easy-to-read manner. I felt for her and the life she was running from and enjoyed her toughness. I also enjoyed reading about her brother Paul, and thought the alternating perspectives was fun, as they ended up on opposite sides. I also enjoyed Matt and how he adapted to the vampiric life even more easily than Dani! The character development is top notch here, as is the world-building. As said, I was totally hooked on this novel and really look forward to the next installment.Great story!
Dark Incidence is a unique view of the vampire mythos. Vampires and humans are different species, with Vampires as the more advanced society. However, not all is well within the Vampire civilization. The more scientific vampires are experimenting with genetically engineered food source while the more laid back vampires just want to let things be. The idea is fascinating, but I had a problem with the flow of time. Scenes seemed to jump at random. And where one week went by for one character, a year went by for another. Even labeling the chapters as “last year”, “Two weeks ago”, Last month” and so on, I started each chapter a little confused. This could have been just the story of an interspecies romance, except the author chose to make the two lead characters brother and sister and only glossed over their romantic interests. Other than the time jumps, I think the writing style was very good. I would be very interested to see more from this author. I debated giving this book 3-4 stars and decided it was closer to 4.
Dark Incidence was a decent story with a good story line. It was kind of a mix of paranormal and fantasy and kind of reminded me of Underworld but without the Lycans. It was just different vampires hating each other…
It was nice that it kept me wanting to know what was going to happen and I was drawn in pretty easily. I have a couple of issues with it though, the first being that it was in first person. I feel that the flow would have been a bit better if it hadn’t been first person and my second issue is that the romance was fast and rushed. I wanted MORE romance, but since I tend to read A LOT of romance I guess that could just be me.
I did have a hard time putting my kindle down while reading and that means it was a good book. So despite my issues it was still really good and certainly leaves you wanting to know what happens next.

There were several distinctions that made this novel a very unique and enjoyable read.
I must first warn that this story is not for the timid, as there are quite a few gory scenes which involve abuse, suffering, torment, and blood, blood, blood! I loved it! The author depicts everything with a great amount of skill.
I was completely captivated by this story from the start. The change in narration kept the pace steady, and each was easy to follow. The characters are easily relatable, the story line gripping, and the romance is sizzling! While the Rhowels are talked about, we learn more about the Ruemisuds in this installment. The basis of war is explained, but I was left yearning for more.
With a heartbreaking tale that pulls you in, I can’t wait for the continuation!
This was a really neat read! It starts out with a huge thrill and just keeps on bringing it! It's kind of a double story, one about Dani and her struggle through the change and the other story about Paul, her brother, and the underground war involving vampires. As you read, more and more is unveiled until you get an explosive finale, melding the two stories together flawlessly. This really was a fantastic story! The writing was extremely descriptive and original, the dialogue was perfect, the emotions were palpable and the characters were very complex. The detail the author put into the underground world of the vampire society is absolutely stunning! This really is an awesomely detailed book that I would recommend to anybody that enjoys vampires, urban fantasy, or just a good thrill!

Fang-tastic!!! With so many vampire stories out there it is hard to find one that really just keeps you moving deeper and deeper into the lives of the characters. A.G. Liam has done just that! The characters are easy to follow, and even easier to fall in love with! I loved the narrative changes between the characters. It's hard to pull this off and not loose the flow of the story! "Dark Incidence" is a fast paced read and it will totally keep you going! I can't wait to see what's going to happen next!!! Hopefully I wont have to wait very long!!! ~Dowie
I really enjoyed this book. I love to read paranormal genre and this one didn't disappoint. The way the alternate world was described made it seem real. The love between Dani and Matt was kind of rushed but it all worked. The book had a good amount of mystery and slot of surprises. The ending will leave you wanting to read the next boom on the series and I'm looking forward to it. I received a complimentary copy of this book in return for an honest review.
Got given the book for an honest review. I haven't, up until reading this book, been a fan of vampires, paranormal, science novels, not something that I was interested in. But this book has changed my mind, I might have to start branching out with my reading. Great start for book 1 and looking forward to book 2. Hope Dani finds what she is looking for... To belong somewhere! Great job AG Liam, you have got a fan in me :)
I love paranormal stories. I was so excited to read this story. Dani is a strong women who leaves to start her own life away from her horrible stepdad. The romance is there but seems to be only because it has to be. But that is not to big of a deal to me. Also if you have a sensitive stomach then you need to be careful reading this. It is not for the ligh hearted. For me I just skimmed so I could see what was happening but no through up. A great read if you love paranormal.
