I received this book as part of a Goodreads giveaway, which did not affect my rating or review.
This book more of a romance-type novel than a mystery-type one, and for that it fits the bill of what you would expect from a romance. Boy meets girl, boy and girl feel attracted to one another, they have conflicts and reasons why they cannot be together...
The book got better as it went along. At the start, I wanted to smack Liv, the protagonist who spent a great deal of time complaining about a) how her family treats her like a baby even though she is a grown-up, independent woman, and then conceding to everyone around and not taking any actions without consulting someone about it first (and wondering why they treat her like that?) and b) repeatedly noting that she could not be with Ridge because he is her brother's best friend. Both complaints, over and over and over again. After we got past that part, the book picked up somewhat. Most of the action happens in the last chapter of the book. But again, it is written as a romance rather than a mystery.
I think I would have enjoyed this book more at an earlier period of my life. I also think that I would have enjoyed the book more if it had been more carefully edited. The many typos and grammar errors really detracted from the reading.
Overall, if you are looking for a decent romance and are able to ignore the errors, you might enjoy this book.
