A confident, plus size CEO running a billion dollar company and the country’s best professional quarterback… it sounds like the ultimate power couple, if it wasn’t all pretend.
Fake dating was not in the plan this year. Especially since I hardly have time for actual dating.
That is until Ford Madigan makes me an offer I can’t refuse: a fake relationship that will benefit us both. He’ll get away from the team owner’s entitled daughter while I score some points with members of the company’s board who love him more than they hate me.
It all seems like a simple business transaction–make a few public appearances and pretend we’re in love until we both get what we want.
The problem is… I find out he’s more than just another jock. He’s a humanitarian using his fortune to help kids all over Texas. Not to mention, he isn’t intimidated by my success like most men.
Now I want more from him. I want something real.
But scars from his past keep him from risking his heart a second time.
I haven’t gotten where I am in life from settling, but I’m also not the kind of woman who will wait around for a man to realize what’s right in front of him.
Will he make this relationship more? Or will I be the one who got away?
My favorite stories are the ones that make you laugh, cry, and feel. In all of my books, you’ll find amazing curvy women, heartwarming moments, and plenty of laughter.
I currently live in Colorado where I watch way too many rom coms, chase my three boys up the mountains (huffing and puffing), and write books for lovely readers like you.
I don’t know how I can read 200+ pages and still feel sooo disconnected from the characters, but this book accomplished that. The premise is cute & I love a fat mc romance, but those things couldn’t save an “all telling, no showing” story. That’s just not the type of writing I like, so I’m DNFing to save myself the frustration.
This is my first Kelsie Hoss book and I am so excited to read other books by her in the future! Hello Quarter gives us a fun, sports romance with a cinnamon roll MMC and a badass FMC.
💙Sports romance 💙Fake dating 💙Forced proximity 💙Plus size FMC 💙FMC CEO x NFL Quartback
Ford and Mia both need a significant other for different reasons – Ford needs one to keep his boss from setting him up with his insufferable daughter and Mia needs one to score points with the board who doesn’t fully believe in her.
The chemistry between these two right off the bat is indescribable. You can tell from the writing that there is no question that these two are end game. The problem is – Ford doesn’t want a relationship.
These two go through all the emotions and end up stronger in the end for it! I LOVED Mia’s character with all of my heart – she is the epitome of a female bada**. We need more books with strong, independent females like her!
Done with this author. Four books in and these books aren't for me. Her characters are older than the average love story characters, yet behave and talk like they're much much younger. In every book the male does something that breaks up the relationship and the female always leaves with no fight for the relationship, despite supposedly loving the MMC. This one was disappointing. The male is a pro footballer with a charity resting on his success. He's scared that a relationship will affect this. When something happens that he's proved right, the female leaves and then doesn't even check on his well being. This isn't love! Love is two ways and every single time the MMC has to earn her back. But honestly, I'm just left in the last ten percent of each book disappointed by the selfish shallowness of their relationships, where the FMC can't also be giving. Standing up for yourself is one thing, but not caring enough to check on someone you love is unforgivable.
It’s a no from me, dog. I don’t know this just felt … juvenile? Like it was fine, and I had no real qualms with the overall story, but like, the characters didn’t feel like their age, and everything just felt …silly.
I flew through this book because it was just easy to read quickly and idk .. it definitely won’t stick with me, but I will try this author again in the future for sure. This COULD have been good, these characters just felt more high school/new adult than they were supposed to be which is a bummer.
Absolutely devoured this book. Kelsie has a way of writing beautiful stories that just wraps me in a way that I don’t care about anything else but finishing the book! I loved Mia and Ford, specially Mia’s fearless, strong will to be unapologetically herself, as a CEO, a woman and a friend! Loved the age gap (she is Oder), between them! They were perfect together and completed each other perfectly. They start a fake relationship that benefits both of them, until is not fake anymore. Two successful people navigating through their successes and feelings. Ford is anti relationships, and Mia will only accept someone that can value her like she deserves. I can’t recommend this series enough! If you haven’t start it, what are you waiting for?
Another amazing read! I absolutely love Ford and Mia! We need more strong lead FMC’ like her. She will never let a man dictate her future as she should. But she found a perfect supportive partner or did she? 🌸🔥🫶🏼💃🏾💕
Thank you for my advanced copy Can’t way for Hayes story 💜💜💜
Despite this being the eighth book in a series, this is the first book I read by Kelsie Hoss so I didn’t know what to expect aside from having a feeling I would love it. Well, once again my instinct didn’t stir me wrong. The author’s style is great, and I enjoyed the book a lot!
Hello Quarterback was a fantastic book, with a beautiful romance between successful CEO Mia and star quarterback Ford Madigan, who begin a fake relationship that will benefit them both. For Mia, having a famous quarterback on her side will help her earn favor among those colleagues who aren’t entirely on her side yet, which will be helpful for an important company acquisition she plans to enact. Ford, instead, won’t have to tell the team’s owner no about dating his daughter and consequentially risk losing his spot on the team.
The dynamic between Mia and Ford was wonderful, and I loved how they came from a place of respect and that they clearly liked each other already when they started this arrangement. I especially loved Mia. She’s confident, she knows what she wants, she won’t let anyone treat her any less than what she deserves. Ford was dreamy, and his relationship with his family is one of the most adorable things ever. However, I wasn’t a fan of how he reacted after the incident that leads to the third act break-up (I’m trying not to spoil so this vague thing will have to do.) He’s human, and I can even try to understand why. He also works hard on himself to be emotionally ready to be the man Mia deserves, and I loved the things Mia handled things, but as far as third act dramas go, this wasn’t my favorite.
I’m really curious to read the other books in the series now. If like me you’re a fan of the Chestnut Springs series by Elsie Silver and you love the Eaton family, then I highly recommend you meet the Madigans! They’re wonderful!
Spice: 3 peppers 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Thank you to the author for gifting me an e-ARC. Opinions are my own.
“But I’m learning in therapy that i was wired to run away when things get hard. And I’m working to develop the capabilities to stick around no matter what.”
Book # 8 in the Hello series! I’ve read every single one and loved them all.
In hello quarterback we have Ford who is a professional quarterback. We also have Mia who is the CEO of griffen industries!
Mia is an amazing FMC. So strong and driven in her career and takes shit from no one. Starting out as a secretary for Gage Griffen (hello billionaire) and making her way to CEO as a plus size woman in a male dominated career. Such an inspiration.
Fords career is on the line when he gets asked to date the teams owners daughter. Ford doesn’t do dating and has zero interest in his daughter.
Mia needs to score points with the board of the company and a professional quarterback hype man is perfect.
Enter a fake dating trope 😍 one of my favs! We also have a reverse age gap. Mia is 10 years older than Ford.
This was a great execution of fake dating, and I loved reading about the characters from the previous books as they made appearances.
Kelsie really knows how to empower plus size FMC’s and the men that fall for them! ❤️
According to the epilogue we will see a book 9! 😲 Looking forward to it!
This is another installment in Kelcie Hoss's Hello Series. It is a standalone book with interconnected characters from her Hello series.
In Hello Quarterback, we meet our curvy MFC, Mia. She has taken over as CEO of Griffin Industries. Mia is already facing a challenger for her role. PR tells her she needs to be more relatable to her employees. The suggestion…. Find a boyfriend.
Ford Madigan is the star quarterback in Dallas who is facing contract renewal. The team owner suggests that dating his daughter would ensure that Ford’s contract is renewed, allowing him to stay close to his family, which is a top priority.
Mia needs a boyfriend, but really doesn’t have the time. Ford needs a girlfriend, but is committed to not dating during the season. They can help each other out. I love a good FAKE DATING story. Their chemistry is evident from the start and. I don’t want to spoil anything, but Ford’s letters are so swoony.
✨What to Expect: 🏈Football Romance 🪻Fake Fating 💋Plus Size CEO FMC 🔥Slow Burn 🌻Reverse Age Gap
Please please please read this series! I haven’t read all of the books yet but I’ve absolutely ate up the books I have read, including this one🤭 and they’re all plus size rep!!
This story was so swoony, romantic and hilarious—a great combination. I really loved the dynamic between Mia and Ford. They had such a genuine respect for each other right from the beginning. Mia was a queen, she had so much confidence and knew exactly what she wanted and deserved. I loved her. And Ford was such a cutie, a real gentleman with an adorable relationship with his family🥹 They honestly had so much chemistry from the get go.
I will say I wasn’t the biggest fan of the reasoning for the third act break up. No spoilers but Ford’s reaction to the situation really annoyed me. I can understand it but I didn’t like it. However, I did enjoy his growth afterwards and how he made things up to Mia.
I can’t wait to go back and read the other books I haven’t gotten to yet!!
Hello Quarterback. The Maddigan family is something else entirely. We've watched Fletch fall in love with Liv, Knox fall in love with Larkin, Hayes give his wisdom, Bryce be brilliant, and let's face it Gray deny his feelings for Aggie. In previous books we've gotten to see Fords heart with Levi and Emily. But seeing him as an MMC is just perfect. Ford has a heart that can't be beat. Mia is strong and independent. Knows what she wants and deserves and will settle for absolutely nothing less. These two are perfect for each other. As always their amazing families are behind them 100%. We get to watch them let go of their fears and lean on their lifelong friends. Seeing Gage and Farrah and how they love and support not just Mia but ford as well was amazing! I can't wait to see these characters again when Hayes gets his happily ever after!
Ummm… Hello Book Boyfriend! Mister Ford tall, athletic and steamy is climbing my BBF ranks. He is all around attractive, protective, a huge family man and most of all, The whole fake dating thing starts when he basically get blackmailed to date the owners Daughter! And the first person he thinks of to help him get out of it?? Mia. Miss CEO, independent. You can throw anything at her and she will handle it without missing a step… except Ford. Things go from Fake, to really real…. Slowly. lol this is a slow burn after all! However, when it burns, the tension breaks, and it all comes to a point to give in and lay the truth out, or give it up. I’m not a huge third act break up fan…. But the letters… swoon. Don’t be nervous! HEA is guaranteed!
This book had so many tropes I loved! I found it so easy to get into, it was a bad idea to start reading this at midnight because I ended up reading for 2 hours 😂
It was so refreshing to read about an FMC who is in her late 30’s, doesn’t want children, is a successful CEO, and is plus size! This whole series is actually plus size fmcs so I’m definitely going back to read the ones I haven’t yet!
I loved the effortless connection Ford & MIA had from the start 🤍 it was easy to route for them!
This was super cute but also had some spicy moments. The gym scene being my fave 👀 iykyk
Hello Quarterback is a delightful sports romance that combines humor, heart, and sizzling chemistry. The story centers around Mia, a fierce, plus-size CEO, and Ford, a swoon-worthy NFL quarterback with a heart of gold. Both are in need of a fake relationship for professional reasons—Ford to fend off his boss’s attempts to set him up with the boss’s daughter, and Mia to prove herself to a skeptical board.
What follows is a whirlwind of forced proximity, undeniable attraction, and personal growth. The chemistry between Mia and Ford is electric from the moment they meet, and their journey from reluctant partners to genuine lovers is both heartwarming and satisfying. Mia, in particular, stands out as an empowered and unapologetically strong female lead, which is a refreshing and empowering portrayal in the genre.
The book strikes the perfect balance of lighthearted romance and emotional depth. Ford’s swoon-worthy moments and Mia’s unyielding strength make them a pair you can’t help but root for. Hello Quarterback is an absolute win for fans of sports romance with great representation and a fierce female lead.
“Making me instantly grieve her touch” my favourite quote of the book!
Also, can we talk about how Mia is the ultimate girls’ girl? Loyal, strong, emotionally intelligent. Love how she handled that dinner.
And yes, I now officially want Bryce as my honorary little brother. Protect him at all costs.
But seriously, what made this story stand out for me was how it portrayed old grief—not as something you “get over,” but something that lingers, shapes you, and still catches you off guard in quiet moments. It felt so real and respectfully done.
I also loved that when the mmc screwed up he actually worked on being better in a great way, even though he first tried the flowers and chocolate route like an idiot, as if that would ever work on my girl Mia
There was nothing bad about this book. The characters were very nice people and both had (some what) logical reasons to fake date. I typically love when the main conflicts come from outside the actual couple. But for some reason, in this story it fell flat. The characters were almost too perfect. I also didn't understand why her weight had to keep getting mentioned. As though, she would not be as smart or capable because of her weight. If this story was set back a few decades, then I could understand a bit more why this was an issue. But now, it just seemed a bit ridiculous.
There’s really just something addicting about these books. Are they formulaic? Yeah. But do I enjoy the hell out of them? Uh, heck yeah.
I loved Mia from Hello Billionaire and I really grew to like Ford. He made a pretty harsh error and I was so proud of Mia for sticking to her worth and not settling for promises that could have easily been broken. I was so proud of Ford for getting help and oh my god the letters he wrote Mia had me so emotional.
One of my favorites in the series for sure! Onto the next!
I loved this book. Ford and Mia were so great together. They decided to start fake dating each other to help themselves out. I loved how confident Mia was and how she didn't let anything stop her. Ford was such a cinnamon roll type of guy and his character was great. My only complaint is how he handled the situation that led to the 3rd act breakup. He did work hard on becoming the type of man Mia needed eventually though, which was great. This was a great book and I enjoyed reading it.
3.5 stars I’m half half about the story. Good basics, but Mia was a mix of traits that weren’t on the same page - at times dumb but then a smart confident business woman. I liked pushing against the double standards and patriarchy, however I felt like some elements were left loose and not tied up or completed. Ford was similarly holding a multitude of traits.
Sure, they seemed to work together, so good for them. The rockstar date in the beginning? Weird.
Review of entire series; all of the stories are very very cute but SO PREDICTABLE. You’re reading the same exact story line for eight books. If you’re a kindle reader, at 74% through *the big conflict* happens and cutesy-s its way correct. In every. Single. Book. Very minimal to no dialogue change in the FMCs or the MMCs throughout the series. These were very mindless reads, which served its purpose, but man they should have been free.
Hello Quarterback -this book has me hooked and into the story from the beginning -I loveeee a bad ass plus size FMC CEO okayyyyy -fake dating a football player yessss please -I’m love with ford he’s so caring and attentive I can’t They were so cute this had me giddy and kicking my feet -Kelsie you have done it with this one Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.
This was super cute and fun to read. I'm not a huge fan of sporty romances, but I liked that this had so many other amazing parts, not just a big game. I loved seeing both characters grow and fall in love. I really enjoyed the fake dating aspect. The FMC, Mia, is a plus sized woman with lots off spunk and big goals; I really enjoyed her the most.
A pretty nice story overall. I was FRUSTRATED AF bc people be playing games too much🙄 but I still liked it nonetheless. There's just something about those down home country boys I can't get enough of😂❤️ I would have preferred a little bit more spice, but that's just my preference lol
Mia is a badda$$! I loved her character! This is a true representation of a plus sized romance. You’ve got sports. Fake dating. Spice! Real life insecurities that are so relatable.
As always Kelsie knocked it out of the park again! I love these books, I love the Madigan and Griffin families so much! I don’t want their stories to ever end!
This one was cute. Mia was strong and knew exactly what she wanted and what she was worth. Ford was a total cinnamon roll and I loved him. He’s a hot quarterback, but he grew up on a ranch and is a bit of a cowboy. 🏈 My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice level: 🌶️🌶️ 🏈 Read if you like: ▫️she’s a plus size CEO ▫️he’s a famous quarterback ▫️fake dating ▫️reverse age gap ▫️dual POV 🏈 Thank you to Kelsie Hoss for the gifted copy! 🏈 Connect With Me
I absolutely love how this storyline evolves. I really like how Ford is a guy who deals with real life issues. This story shows how a female can run a company just as well as a male. I love how the story of Mia and Ford evolved.
