The hilarious crew from the Bliss Senior Center joins the hunt, leading to side-splitting misunderstandings and unexpected revelations. As Jazz, Holly, and Lyssa work to unravel the mystery and bring closure to Bliss, they discover new passions, confront old feelings, and prove that the town's spirit is as unshakable as Jimi's laughter. Get ready for a heartwarming, rib-tickling adventure in "Buried in Bliss," where secrets are uncovered, mysteries are solved, and the quirky charm of Bliss shines brighter than ever!
A very interesting read. Lyssa is calmly working in her shop when there is a massive waterspout suddenly shooting high in the air. A water main has burst, but, one of the workmen notices what looks like a tunnel under it. Holly, Lyssa’s friend and the town of Bliss’s Mayor, decided to investigate the tunnel. They find an opening into it from the basement below Lyssa’s shop. Then a history professor on his sabbatical arrives & want to delve into & map the tunnels, so Jazz becomes part of the team. Then one day Lyssa not looking where she’s going bumps into her ex-husband! The story broadens as it is suspected by Jazz that the get away driver for a big jewel robbery in Chicago came to Bliss & was never caught & he had a stash of loose jewels! Lots of interesting historical things come up along with a surprise for Sam, Lyssa’s business partner. I really enjoyed this book.
4.5 Just wrapped up Buried in Bliss by Sara Isabelle — book one in the Lyssa Jones Cozy Mystery Series — and I’m officially hooked. 🔍📚
Set in the charming town of Bliss, where the air smells like fresh coffee and secrets hide in plain sight, this cozy mystery delivers the perfect blend of small-town warmth, clever twists, and a heroine you’ll instantly root for. Lyssa Jones is witty, curious, and just nosy enough to get herself tangled in a murder mystery that most would’ve gladly ignored.
Between unraveling clues, dodging red herrings, and navigating complicated relationships, Lyssa brings heart and humor to every page. It’s the kind of mystery that feels like a warm cup of tea with just a splash of danger — light enough to fly through in an afternoon, but layered enough to keep you guessing.
If you love charming towns, smart amateur sleuths, and mysteries that feel like comfort food with a twist, add this to your TBR immediately. And the best part? It’s just the beginning of the series. 😏
A water main break alerts the residents of Bliss, Iowa, to the surprising existence of a tunnel running under the Riverwalk, linking basements and secret rooms to each other for Prohibition era bootlegging purposes, all the while leaving the store owners “Blissfully” unaware. Meanwhile, Lyssa deals with changing family dynamics, the possibility of an up-and-coming budding romance, and the return to town of her ex-husband, Parker. Add in a six-decades-old jewelry heist in Chicago with strong ties to Bliss and you can count on another successful installment of Sara Ennis` Bliss series of cozy mysteries, this time, luckily, without bloodshed. P.S.: Stevie, the pup, grows more adorable with each new book, and Trouble, the cat, certainly deserves honorable mention, as the most chilled feline, ever. A tunnel is discoverd under the Bliss. Lyssa and Co try to figure out why it's there and what's going on. There's never a dull moment in Bliss. The senior posse is hilarious. I just love this series. It seems to get better and better but it already was so good. I can highly recommend this series and I hope we don't have to wait too long for book 4 to be published. I received an advance review copy and I'm leaving a voluntary and honest review.
That’s exactly it. A name carries all the memories, the history, the emotions tied to it. It’s more than just letters strung together. It’s your own personal story, all wrapped up in a word.”
