Rachel Foucar is an author living and working in Perth, Western Australia. After receiving her Batchelor of Arts in Performance Studies from Curtin University, Rachel spent several years in the theatre industry, where she had a lot more fun than actual success. Eventually her love of storytelling led her to writing, because it's hard to depict space travel on stage.

When she isn't doom scrolling through twitter, Rachel can be found tending to her tiny garden or starting a craft project that she probably won't finish.

Atmosphere so rich you could choke on the accumulated sweat of everyone in the domed lunar city. In fact the only thing richer are the only people safe from the latest serial killer this side of Tycho.
Hybridize is a tense, cat and mouse thriller set against the backdrop of a tangibly grimy crater city on the moon. Lit by the strobing neon of human greed and desire and undercut by the muffled screams of a predator who will leave you hollow.
I cannot wax lyrical enough about the setting but a thriller is nothing without memorable characters and Foucar has always excelled in this area (see her debut 'The Rings Of Mars' for further proof). The brave-face-on-a-terrible-situation which she writes so heartbreakingly well, fits snugly on to the two heroes of this twisted drama and the forces they're up against are upsettingly close to home, while still having a fun veneer of pulpy SciFi goodness to help the poison go down.
I'm going to be keeping an eye out for the next offering from my newest favourite peddler of SciFi thrillers, with a refreshingly new voice.
