Alex Matthews is a clinical social worker who enjoys writing psychological mysteries, but has not urge to live the life of the great Cassidy McCabe. Alex lives with her husband and private-practice partner in Illinois.
A good mystery but Cassidy as a therapist didn’t seem a great career move as she seemed to need one more than her clients. Nevertheless it was an enjoyable read.
So, having read all my library books during this time home I looked on Ebay for some inexpensive mysteries. I received the first 5 books in this series of Cassidy McCabe. I noticed none of the paperbacks looked liked they were ever opened but thought maybe it was a close out deal from a book store. Well I guess you get what you pay for. I was not thrilled with this first installment of the series. Cassidy was not a protagonist that I could relate to, and really didn't care for her. Cassidy is dodging the Mafia and is trying to figure out whether one of her patients really did the unthinkable. Add an unlikely new beau and a cat, with a mother I wouldn't want to visit with and there you have it. I will read the rest of the series, being the eternal optimist, that the series will get better as I get deeper into it. Wish me luck!
