A damsel in distress. A dark knight. Will love conquer all?

I’m lucky I have won our battle of wills, but the war between us is far from over.

Kat has agreed to my demands for now. But if I had to guess, I’d say she’s probably saving her energy for a later fight—one she can actually win. I just know we will have many, many more battles in the foreseeable future.

Even though I hold her life in my hands, the little thief challenges me every step of the way, and I just can’t wait to force her into submission—slowly and repeatedly.

Kat is a complication—an unavoidable one since I need her help with my plans. But I can’t decide if she is my salvation or my doom.

One way or the other, the woman and the uncontrollable emotional outbursts she provokes in me have become an extra problem I now must handle.

If only I could ignore the powerful, almost gravitational pull I feel towards her…

After all, we are stuck together—for better or for worse.

As far as my plans are concerned, it’s definitely for the worse. There are important, life-and-death matters that demand my full attention. The future of my bratva is up in the air and the threat of war with a rival boss looms ahead.

Will this spark between us turn into a flame, or will our tangled web of secrets consume us both?

Diamond Dreams is Book Two of the Diamond Duet, the first in the Ruthless Russians series. It is a spicy enemies to lovers mafia romance with a HEA, no cheating, and touch her and die vibes. Kat and Nik’s story begins in Book One, Diamond Don.

ARC Review
Thank you Booksprout for giving me the ebook

“If they find us, they’ll kill me and take you. And if you
die on my watch, Nik will find a way to resurrect me so that he can
kill me himself.”

I do not think it was necessary to make a duet, it could have ended in one book only. I felt that this book was stretched a lot and only 1-2 best things happened, which was worthwhile reading. Again the MCs are relatable and the author did an amazing job of continuing their story, but their character growth was not seen much in this book and that's where it kinda fell down for me. The characters repeated the same mistakes and same phrases to the point it kind of got annoying.

“The
moral of the story is that finding someone who makes life worth living
is fucking hard. And rare. So don’t throw it away if it happens to you.
Don’t take it for granted, or you might regret it for the rest of your
miserable existence. I know this now. So does Nik. He knows what it’s
like to lose someone you love forever.”

The plot twist was very poor, first of all, the author dragged the unknown killer for far too long, and for a mafia, I don't think the leader or pakhan is that stupid to just target one person and not see any other clues. The point when the real killer was known, it didn't even fit the picture, it felt forced and poor execution of the revelation.

“Kiss me, Nik. Kiss me, and I’m yours.”

The best part of this whole duet was the epilogue, that made my day. And I learned 2-3 lines in Russian.

“I told you, remember? Wild horses couldn’t keep me away.”

The second part of the series was much more dynamic than the first and I enjoyed it. Kat and Nikolai are a perfect match, he is a Russian mafia boss and she is a thief. I like their chemistry, connection and witty dialogues. I like the series and I can't wait to read the next part.

--

“After you left this morning, I thought about the night we first met. As

monumental of a night as it was for you and me, we had no idea everything

would change. Forever.” With a teasing glint in her eyes, she brushes her

lips against mine. “I bet you didn’t even know what hit you when you first

saw me across the room.”

“It was the stuff of legends, Kat. The earth moved. Even if I live to be a

hundred years old, I’ll still perfectly remember the way you looked that

night and the devastation you caused in my life. You stole my diamond and

my heart—and I was better for it.”

“And now you have me and your diamond.”

I was giving the chance to read this second book as an ARC reader and am glad I was chosen

This is book 2 of the duet.

Nik and Kat still have the pull between them to be together but Nik is not wanting to compromise and Kat is still causing him grief with her strong will and refusing to submit to Nik.
This book is filled with the touch her and die vibe from Nik, steamy smut, action and roller coaster rides of emotions.

Satisfying ending to Kat and Nik’s story. Book 2 of the duet seemed steamier and more twisty plot wise. I was so angry with Kat’s attitude half way through I had to take a break. She redeemed herself. Love the HEA. Can’t wait for the next duet! Thank you to the author for the opportunity to read this ARC.

The Dapper Nikolai Stefanovich Bratva Pakhan just so happens to take a fancy to thief extraordinaire Katherine. She took his most valued possession, well, there are some fireworks in the making. 😉

We can't 100% call it an enemies to lovers 'cause it's more like lusted, to one-sided enemy to lovers...

...if you catch my drift...

Good looking dangerous MMC + Gorgeous smart FMC = hold on to your knickers and enjoy the ride! 😵

The character development across these two books is just amazing. One needs to read both to truly give the best review (please do yourself a favour and sign up for the authors mailing list to get the epilogue. It's worth it for some closure)

The jealousy and possessiveness the MMC displays just make most girls' legs weak. And the touch her and die trope 😍 I mean what sane woman wont find it sooo romantic when her man breaks his soldier's hand for touching her, my weak heart.

Now... the plot twists are mind-blowing! This book is the plot of the series. Book one was more like the intro setting the scene for book 2. But damn did I enjoy the suspense, the banter, the passion, and dare I say the secrets and lies again, not to mention the hail mary 🤯.

After completing the book, sign up for the newsletter and get that epilogue... it's worth it! 😉

Diamond Don was a great book, but, dare I say it, Diamond Dream may be even better.
The passion, the yearning, the anger, the pettiness, the banter, and then, the betrayal, all made an excellent read. I absolutely flew through this book because it's so hard to put down!
The chemistry between Kat and Nik continues in this book, and the trouble they find themselves in is, as always, exciting. Kat is stubborn, wary, uncontrollable, and petty, making for some very frustrating moments. Nik is the most worried man on the planet, and he doesn't know how to keep Kat both safe and happy. They have a bit of a communication problem because they've never had to communicate properly with another person before they met one another. They each did what they thought they had or needed to do, without worrying about the feelings of others. But with one another, each action has a reaction, and that's difficult to navigate because each cares for the other immensely, and hates seeing the other hurt.
I loved their passion and love for one another, and I was TRULY shocked by the betrayal! What a twist!
Excellent Mafia read.

In part two of the duology of Nik and Kat, the murder of Maxim still needs to be solved, there remains the threat of a war between the Russian bratva and the Irish mafia, and the "Flame of Mir" red diamond has yet to be retrieved. What has changed is the relationship between Nik and Kat. It runs hot and cold, almost on a daily basis. Perhaps describing it as running from boiling to freezing would be more accurate. Will Kat ever share her deepest fears with Nik? If she doesn't, they may never have their HEA.

If you think you can take the stress, you will eventually be heartily rewarded, but before you get that reward, you will suffer. It was a pleasurable reading experience with tons of drama, hot love scenes, and if you don't have tears running down your cheeks at the end, something's wrong with you. This story is really very well written with proper phrasing and punctuation. Overall, I found few errors. The one thing, in my opinion, that would have made the writing even better, would have been if the author had been able to include dialog that was more representative of how Russians speak English. In other words, with a little Russian "accent." There were several examples of American slang words that I do not believe could be reasonably expected of a Russian speaker.

Just like Diamond Don this book is amazing. In Diamond Dream we explore more about the love and chemistry between Kat and Nik; despite their extreme differences, they have a wonderful connection. Who says that opposities don't attract?

The characters development in both books is fantastic, and of course we all adore a possesive MMC who will protect his beloved if someone tries to hurt her. Can we talk about Dmitri? In this book he underwent the most development. Now I'm eagerly anticipating the Emerald Duet.

The plot twist caught me off guard. Although there are storyline twists in both books, Diamond Don was only a warm up. A traitor was someone I believed to be innocent, and vice versa. The betrayal? I didn't see it comming, but we find out who was behind everything.

Overall, this mafia romance duet is incredibly good! It's a rollercoaster of love, secrets, betrayal, suspense and mystery. It has it all.

This is the conclusion of the Diamond’s Duet and It was a perfect closure!

I love this second part, it was very dynamic, we get to see more of the mafia business, more about Maxim’s story and Nik’s background.

Their relationship grows a lot and I am seriously obsessed with this two, I love how two strongly minded individuals get together in the middle, he being mega overprotective and she being super independent… but they make the perfect pair for each other.

Theirs banter and the tension moments are excellent and conclude in delicious spicy moments🔥

The plot itself was so good! I love how if you pay close attention to little details along the story line you can put together the puzzle along with the characters!

Definitely recommend the Duet! It’s so worth it! And I’m definitely interested in Dimitri’s story it seems to be a pretty interesting one!

Diamond Dream is Book 2 of Diamond Duet is the continuation of Kat and Nik’s story. After reading Diamond Don, I could hardly wait to read book 2. I found that author Anna Cole weaves emotions into the words she uses in her writing. I think Anna Cole writes amazing books that hooks a reader to the story of each book she writes. I love the chemistry between Kat and Nik, I find the way Nik looks at Kat with not only love but adoration. Nik truly cares about Kat and her well being. Also, I love the intense feelings of not only the connection between Kat and Nik, but the passion and love these two have for each other. I’m ecstatic that Kat and Nik have semblance of a happy ending with Nik asking Kat to marry him. I would absolutely recommend Diamond Duet to other readers. I can’t wait to read more books written by Anna Cole.

This book was a chef's kiss!! Perfection. Love love love it!!

Kat is a skilled thief known in the underworld for her high value targets. Nik is the head of the Russian mafia. They have one mind blowing night that neither one of them expected. Things take a twisted turn at the same museum they had their hot and heavy night at. Nik knows Kat has to be involved and has to prove it.

I devoured this book and book 2 in 2 days. I loved it and I'm so sad it’s over. I loved Nik and Kat so much. Check out Diamond Don and Diamond Dream on kindle unlimited coming out June 27th!

I was so happy that book two of the duet was available to read immediately.

This book picks up where book one ends.

The author continues with her impressive story and character development.

We have a bit more spice, humor and definitely more possessiveness from our mc. We had even more suspense and plot twists I didn't see coming.

A good ending for Kat and Nik. Make sure to sign up for this authors newsletter so you don't miss out in her next books.

Diamond Dream (Book 2 of Diamond Duet) by Anna Cole is a mafia romance novel. This book picks up right where book 1 finished. You definitely need to read Diamond Don first. Kat continues to strive to be independent and strong willed. Nik on the other hand is very dominant and not wanting to compromise. So we continue to see the extreme banter between the two BUT also the spicy chemistry. The plot definitely is full of twists and turns as things begin to unravel and mysteries are solved. There are definitely a few surprises a long the way.
This was a very enjoyable book and series. It was an excellent love story with a mysterious plot. I can not wait to see what the next book entails.

INCREDIBLE!!!! What an amazing ending to a beautiful duet. I absolutely love Nik and Kat. There were so many more twists and turns in this book. It was a wild, emotional roller-coaster. In the best possible way, of course. From the chaos to the spice, everything was perfect. I seriously can not wait for Dimitri's story though!!!!

Diamond Dream by Anna Cole is conclusion of the scrumptious story of Nik and Kat. This is a story of extremes!!! These two go from one extreme to another, jockeying for control. They continue with their feisty barbs between each other…but, now there’s outside dangers as well. Can they get past their own internal issues in order to deal with the outside issues….and still have their relationship remain intact?

Such a fun, decadent read!!! Love the bizarre relationship these two have!!! Perfect ending for them!!

This in book 2 in kat and niks duet. I enjoyed this one more than the first. There is definitely spice and there are also disagreements. Nik is definitely a touch her and die kind of guy he broke someones hand just for touching her. They have their issues she is a thief and con woman while he is the bratva's bakhan so they both have their own ways of doing things which often times gets in the way of them working together but in the end it all works out and they get their HEA.

We are currently focused on resolving the case of Maxim's murder. After speaking with Maxim's ex-girlfriend, who had disappeared, and dealing with a situation where an Irish family believed we were a threat to their daughter, tensions were high. Despite the intense chemistry between Nik and Kate, Nik resisted their attraction in order to protect Kate from danger while she searched for a missing diamond. Kate eventually decided to leave the situation behind and returned home. However, a call from our friend AJ led to a surprising discovery about Maxim's killer. Nik made a sacrifice but was ultimately rescued, leading to a resolution where good prevailed over evil. This has sparked interest in a new storyline involving Dimitri and a mysterious woman, leaving us still wondering about the whereabouts of Maxim's body.

The smut
The plot twists
The love story…
🤤

This book just perfectly expands on the first installment. I truly could not love these two main characters more and I hope you give them a chance!

The plot thickens in this book and truly, I was reading as fast as my eyes could go to figure out the plot twists and see if they get a happy ending (P.S. They do! Just for all my lovelies that can’t do a last act heartbreak)

I finished this two book series in just under 2 days… I highly recommend.

I DIDNT SEE THE PLOT TWIST COMING. AND LET ME TELL YOU I WAS BLOWN AWAY!!!

Possessive Nik at the party probably was the best thing about this book. Kat tells him that Patrick would protect her against him, and Nik was ready to fight this man. I'm here for the drama.

**Mild Spoilers Ahead**

At 9% I'm calling it now that Maxim isn't dead. The body missing and Erin's reactions and sudden disappearance were a little sus to me.

“Well, maybe I’m tired of always being the pakhan. Maybe I want to be just a man for once.” Hmmm not sure how I felt about this line of dialogue, especially after all Nik went through. But I appreciate his love for Kat in this moment, the passion was off the charts.

Not Nik breaking Vladimir's hand 🥴

Dmitri fanboying/laughing at the fact Kat calls Nik, miliy, was perfect 😭. What a sweet moment, homie was too stun to speak. Shoot Dmitri and I were both fangirling over Nik and Kat. His excitement was contagious. "You got it bad, my friend" indeed.

A fast burn story, that ended up being a slow burn. The tension was there, the banter was great, but I was hoping for a lot more spice. They kept getting interrupted 😭

The back and forth between these two got a little old. Especially in Kat's case. I felt she just didn't want to under where Nik was coming from. Nor took the seriousness of the situation seriously. I spent a lot of time wondering what her problem was. I understand she doesn't want to be used by another man, but I personally didn't see Nik doing that. Especially after Kat hears Nik's story about him and Maxim. Like girl the man just lost his best friend, and now he's trying to prevent losing his lover too.

The third act break up has me throwing my kindle across the room and sobbing real tears. I just want these two to be happy. But toxic Kirsten enjoyed the angst.

Part two was definitely more action packed than part 1. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. When I thought I had things figured out, poof, plot twist and I was back to the wheels in my head turning.

Kat and Nik both made me want to rip my hair out at times. Despite the ending falling a little flat for me (I'm not a fan of the fade to black thing, especially with action scenes) I still thoroughly enjoyed their story and looking forward to what Anna Cole has next to come.

The epilogue was perfection, a sweet happy ending.

Will this spark between us turn into a flame, or will our tangled web of secrets consume us both?

This is the second book in the “Ruthless Russian Series” and does not disappoint. The battle of wills between Nik and Kat continues, as well as the physical connection. Nik is very jealous and possessive of Kat - all he wants to do is protect her. Kat feels Nik is being narrow minded in his search for who murdered his best friend Maxim on the same night that Kat stole his rare diamond. What can she do to make him listen before it is too late? Who really killed Maxim? Will she have to take things into her own hands to stop Nik getting killed? The intrigue will keep you hooked, the passion, the banter, the twists and turns …. I could not put the book down!

A thoroughly enjoyable read from page to page, one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. I cannot wait for Anna’s next book! Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

This was such a good read! The storyline and characters from Diamond Don got me hooked immediately and I am so glad I was able to dive into Diamond Dream right away. I gobbled up both books!

Kat and Nik’s story continues to evolve. The push and pull between these two stubborn and fierce characters were perfection. Nik wants to protect Kat and keep her out of danger but Kat continues to want her independence while holding onto what she has with Nik. If you thought the chemistry between this couple was hot in the first book, just wait until you read this one. Off. The. Charts.

There were a couple of twists I did not see coming. The person I thought was a traitor was innocent. My jaw dropped and I gasped when I found out who was behind the incidents from the first book. And I was shocked at the connections this person had. Well done, Ms. Cole!

I absolutely loved this duet! The writing, the plot, the characters – chef’s kiss! I can’t wait to read the next duet!

Diamond Dream starts where Diamond Don left off. This is the 2nd Book of the Diamond Duet and continues with Nikolai and Kat's story. In Diamond Dream, Nikolai and Kat are more involved with each other. Nikolai is more obsessed and jealous of Kat. There is more steam and their chemistry is hotter. Nik wants to be in control and Kat to submit, but she still wants to be independent. With danger, Nik wants to protect and keep Kat safe from harm. These two characters are working together, but still stubborn and banter back and forth.
Lots of twists and turns and a amazing book series to read. Enjoyed this exciting ride.
