Cari Silverwood’s CNC Fraternity series makes you wonder if there’s something wrong with you. Because the dark and depraved stuff that’s done to the heroines, may be done with the “consent” of the victim,it’s still….well, dark and depraved. They end up in situations they didn’t choose to be in. They’re not sure they’ll make it out alive. But somehow, they still enjoy what’s being done to them, because deep down, they crave that shit. Being hurt in so many different ways, humiliated, degraded…. You name it,they love it. And the men that do all of that to them, are not just sadists…..no,these men are bad! And yet….knowing all this…..i still enjoy this series. In fact,i love each and every story. So,am i sick for enjoying them so much? Or is it simply a matter of knowing it’s fiction, and giving in to a guilty pleasure? I’m going to stick with the last option…..
And now Cari added a prequel called Killer Bones. It has triggers you need to be aware of before you consider reading it. But if you’re ok with those, you’re going to enjoy this dark beauty! And i’m not saying that because i got the ARC….. No,i really loved it from start to evil finish! I díd enjoy the “tamer/nicer” end too,but you know me…..i so love it in the dark, lol.
Izzy wants to expose Montez for the evil bastard he is,and yes, maybe she has been dreaming about killing him, too… Montez wants the bitch that’s been causing trouble for him dead, period. Adalmo has his own agenda, and Montez and Izzy are on that agenda. But when her reactions to him manhandling her are not what he expected,he needs to reassess her fate. When both are taken to Montez, and Adelmo is ordered to kill Izzy,he suggests having a little fun with her first.…because he needs the time to think.
What ís Adelmo’s agenda? Can Izzy make a deal with this devil to keep her alive? The one that enjoys hurting her, that she enjoys being hurt by…..even if she shouldn’t?? Sadly,it seems the odds of both of them getting out alive are stacking up against them…..
Izzy finds herself on the wrong side of Montez Flores with her prior actions resulting in his men apprehending her alongside Adelmo a scarred stone cold killer who also has a hidden agenda and a penchant for murder.
I really enjoyed this one, you should know it's dark and twisted as fuck so please do check your triggers before reading but if you like your fiction with sharp edges this one more than has you covered.
It's a prequel read to the main CNC series but can definitely be read as a standalone, it's only related in as such that it's set in the CNC world. Be aware that this is pure dub-con and at times also non-con as the boundaries here are very hazy. Our FMC Izzy is also kinda into the twisted nature of the encounters between her and Adelmo and she's his perfect counterpart. He's also fascinated that she seems to enjoy the depraved stuff he's into and saving Izzy at least initially is more about his own selfish motives, in as such that he's not yet quite finished with her.
This is a shorter read but it's also a pretty decent length. It's consensual non-consent, so expect plenty of delicious dubious deeds and descriptive on-page depravity If you're ok with the dark nature of this then you're good to go with this one.
It actually has alternative endings a nicer version and the more evil twisted one. Though I liked both I personally preferred the evil version, what can I say I'm just wired that way. The karma of it just really appealed to me and I love a good anti-hero who stays true to his nature, makes it all feel more authentic.
This was well written and though the romance is very dark I could still sense the bond between these two. It's more implied than voiced, but this one is truly a definition of a dark romance where the actual relationship is dark rather than just the scenario. If all the above sounds like your jam I highly recommend reading. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of Killer Bones.
What a deliciously wicked read this book is! Killer Bones, new from Cari Silverwood, is the short prequel to her CNC Fraternity series, and wow, is it hot! Isabella (Izzy) Fenway is an on-line journalist who builds her articles around one criminal in particular, Montes Flores. He is also her worst enemy, as she suspects he was responsible for one fateful, deadly night. But when she is taken by his goons, along with the scarred man, he wants to see her hurt, tortured, humiliated, and then dead!
Here's what I loved about this dark prequel to the series:
1) The Characters! OMG, Isabella is such a bad girl! The scarred man, Mr. Smith, or is it Adelmo, works with Montez Flores, sort of, and happens to be a serial killer. Their complicated, blazing-hot relationship is riveting! I was fascinated by their yeng/yang dynamic!
2) The plot in this story has to come together pretty quickly, as the story is short, but it is a good one. The story grabbed me from the beginning, but the plot, with its uncertainty and unexpected surprises, held me to the gasping end.
3) This book has an alternate ending. Rare, but refreshing. I read the book with the original ending, but I couldn't stop reading the story. I opted to read the evil, alternate ending. Not even a little bit disappointed! Loved it!

This was excellent! A nice short book with a good plot, a great intro to the CNC Fraternity (as book 0) as well as a great intro to the author's works.
If you are into Dark non-romance Romances/Erotica, then this book is definitely for you!
A big thank you to the author for providing an advance review copy for free. I am leaving this review voluntarily
I picked this one up from Booksiren, honestly it was just to get my booksiren rating up but i'm glad I did. I can see me going to find other books by Cari Silverwood. I also need to see who to get the evil ending of this book.
I like to jump between the shade of grey and this one is definitely on the darker end of the scale. There is no sweet adult scene they are rough and ready. If you are looking for sweet and light this book is not for you the CNC in the title is a bit of a giveaway of what you are about to read.
I actually hoped early on that Izzy and Adelmo would end up together from their first meet up in the alley way it, even though he wasn't who she thought he was there was still a chemistry between the character and he have ended her earlier on but the fact that he had already started to help her gave me hope. Then later on when she tries to save him from Kasimir not knowing their connection I thought that was sweet. I can see why Kasimir would have issue with it but i'm pretty sure that Adelmo wouldn't risk it if he didn't think Izzy was worth it.
Update 25.06.2024: after reading this soft ending I went looking for the hard ending and was lucky enough that Cari emailed it to me. I have to say it was worth it. This version starts around the meeting when Adelmo fights to save Izzy from being executed. I still love the part where he gets annoyed about the blood in his pool. With everything else going on and that’s his concern. Anywho this version you get a little trip to his basement / dungeon sex room and we get a little look at his trophies including Izzy’s shoes from the alley. Then instead of him telling her about the third part of her birthday present, it’s there in the castle for her to see and the mad hatter to enjoy.
I might be a little twisted in the head because I enjoyed the bonus ending more than the original.
“Don’t you get lonely? I can play chess, Fallout, Guild Wars with you.”
3.5⭐️ Page 9. That’s how long it took me to fall in love with Izzy, the FMC. She reads Brynne Weaver and Trisha Wolfe! Woman after my own serial unaliver heart! I love her indulgence in the CNC space and how this plays out throughout.
There’s a lot of info straight away, like rapid fire makes, places, history and almost like assumed knowledge of these characters. The pace is also lightning fast even for a novella and for me felt a little chaotic at times. I haven’t read any of the other books that this is a prequel to and I’m not sure if that’s impacting my ability to understand if you need to have read that but my thoughts would be as it’s a prequel. It should intro into the story, but I didn’t really feel that here. I’m a bit lost to be honest.
Their spice was brutal. Like so many elements in their first encounter. It’s full on and intense so definitely buckle up. The BDSM vibes were executed well. Again a lot of assumed knowledge about safe words and the scene etc. But overall I enjoyed it.
I think I need to call my therapist after this one because WHEW I shouldn’t have enjoyed this as much as I did 😅
Killer fetishist Izzy ends up face to face with a killer who wants to make all her fantasies she writes about come true. 5 years after meeting a stranger & setting an arrangement before a major fire broke out, she finds herself in the arms of said man who’s ready to hold up every end of this bargain. Things don’t go nearly as planned and Izzy finds herself in a deeply dangerous, unfortunate situation with her mystery man, and what could quite possibly be her last days on earth.
This had me on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what happened. Super quick read as well. Be sure to read content warnings as this is very dark. I had no idea this was a prequel but I guess I have another book to add to my TBR 🤪 Also love that this book has an alternate ending as well! I loved this ending but also interested to see how things could’ve gone the other way!
Thanks to the author & BookSirens for an ARC copy in return for an honest review!
This story was amazing!! I loved how depraved the MCs were for each other and the plot build up for the series. The “love” element in this novel was not directly said but rather in actions. I kind of saw the twist coming at the end but never would have thought up that birthday surprise 😉. Without giving away anything, if you love novels where the men are unapologetically themselves and the women finally embrace their inner selves with a helping hand. This book is for you! CHECK THE TRIGGER WARNINGS if you are new to dark romance.

I don’t know if you can actually say you like a book like this, unless you’re a psychopath like Mr. Smith. He’s a true definition of the word. Is the book compelling? Yes. Gripping, fascinating (in can’t turn your eyes away style)? Definitely. It will make you cringe; it will make you feel sick, but you won’t be able to put it down. It’s hard to describe without giving too much away, but it's essentially one degrading scene after the other with no way out for Izzy. So, can a story like that have a happy ending. You’ll have to read it to find out! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Super dark story, full of hot steamy to twisted interactions. Very dark may have some triggers so please take note of what this author warns. Has steam, spice, murder, BDSM, kidnapping, twists and great characters. Very fast paced novella, does get over before you know it. Keep you on the edge of your seat thru the whole story, looking over your shoulder at some points. Well done. Would strongly recommend to some.
I am an ARC and leave this unbiased, honest review.
Killer meets killer fetishist. Izzy definitely wasn't expecting her written fantasies to come true, let alone by a random man from 5 years ago. But who can say no when your life is on the line and he's the only one that can save you?? Definitely a sexy action book with major CNC
This book was a wild and crazy ride from start to finish. I felt the force of the MMC from the beginning, like the FMC. I wasn’t sure who to root for and who to hate, but I was all about it! The character interactions were absolute filth in the best way and I never put this book down. I enjoyed the twists and character development, especially in the context of a dynamic of pushing. As a first intro into the CNC club, let me the hell in the doors, NOW! My only stopping point was dealing with the gore and the visceral reaction I had to the “taken” scenes. Highly recommend if you like filthy mouths, action-packed, mysterious, and morally black men! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book was so good these mc's Isabella (Izzy) and Adelmo are perfect for each other. Izzy is a online journalist who's made it her mission to expose those that create crime and chaos her main focus is Montez Flores. She has a feeling that he's behind the disaster that caused the death of her friends 5 years ago. Adelmo comes across Izzy in an alley and has her thinking that he's her date from that night, and he suddenly makes an appearance, no he's got other plans, and she's just a bonus, but before anything can happen Montez's men grab them. That's all I'm saying you'll need to grab it and find out.
This was definitely a book that grabbed your attention as you try to figure out just what game Adelmo is playing and what are his plans for Izzy. She was definitely not what he was expecting as he gets to do whatever he wants to her and she loves it. He pushes her past her boundries to find the darkness he knows is in there. This is the prequel to the CNC Fraternity series that I just love.
Dark and twisted all the way. Izzy is taken by Montez Flores, her worst enemy. She is a writer and is into following killers. Izzy wanted to expose Montez, but instead he got her and instead of killing her right off, he gave her to Adalmo. Adalmo takes her, literally. He takes her in ways that are twisted but she’s sort of liking it. It had me sitting through the entire read without stopping. Apparently, it’s a CNC Fraternity Prequel. I can’t wait for more. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.
Killer bones will suck you in, sink its teeth into you and have you begging for more!!
Killer Bones has so much, I love to go in blind but I would certainly recommend checking your TW if you do have triggers. This is dark and dirtyyyy (just the way I like it) the feelings of uncertainty I had for Izzy while reading this book, constantly wondering if there is another shoe and how’s it going to drop. I loved the mystery around the MmC. Something always seemed off until it all came out in the end. I loved how his desire to push her never change but his ways of doing it do. I feel like killer bones has a great story line, the spice will light your panties of fire and steal the ashes, it’s everything you want from a CNC book. The is a prequel to CNC fraternity series she has written… so when you love this, there is more to bind you to your chair and keep you entertained.
From kidnapped to kink kitten
—possible spoilers below—
As a writer chasing stories of dark world people doing dark world things, you’d think Izzy would know when she may have chased too far. A man with a single word, a silver bracelet and scars to match the story will shake her world. Is he the man from that night? Is he Noah? Is he someone else entirely. All she knows is he might be the devil, but it gets worse when it turns out he has ties to her enemy and the men that came looking for him now have her.
As her limits are put beyond the test, she will realize her wildest fantasies (which to most others may be nightmares) are coming true, one wicked twist at a time. The things she will go through to maybe possibly make it out breathing. The quick decision between happily ever after and dearly departed.

Well, now, if you are looking to read this book, it's more than likely you are familiar with her CNC Fraternity series. And if that's true, you know how crazy this series is. And if you read the evil version, yeah, Cari Silverwood doesn't play around. Even I was kind of surprised at that ending. But its all good! It wouldn't be a Cari Silverwood book if there wasn't something crazy like that going on.
Izzy and Adelmo are made for each other. His kind of crazy makes her go kind of crazy too. Although it'll take some getting used to on Izzy's part. Same with Adelmo. He's never met anyone like Izzy either, so he finds himself in a dilemma. Both want to stay alive, so they'll have to work together to make it out together. Definitely worth the wait/read.
“Why do you write about killers?” … “It's not simple to say why because I don't know the whole answer. It's sick. I know this— wanting someone who will kill anyone except me.”
Killer Bones by Cari Silverwood recieves an EASY 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 peppers. Cari did NOT hold back on the pure vulgarity of each character. It was delicious to read, holding extreme TWs that most authors don’t dare to touch. Sh*t was spicier than a mf! The author managed to capture CNC in a perfect light despite the peril throughout the book. It seems fairly accurate to those who participate within the lifestyle— so good research for the novel! The author took an interesting approach bringing the characters together, but it did leave a lot of baffling questions. It was a 123 page book that probably should’ve been captured in a longer version of the story, and was rather anticlimactic despite how much build up there was to the main event. Because of this, I would rate the book 3-4 stars based on the plot. As the author stated when receiving the advanced copy of this book, there were many errors, grammatical mistakes and otherwise.
As always, I really appreciate the opportunity to read the advanced copy of the novel! I received this copy for free through Book Sirens, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. ♥️
This is the 2nd book from this author I have read… and I want to start by saying PLEASE check TW cause this book was DARK! It did take a bit to get into it for me however once I found out that it had an evil alternative ending I couldn’t put it down. I like some dark and twisted books and this one definitely gave me that! The main characters were very good together. Overall it was a good book and was a very good prequel into the CNC fraternity.
This is the first book of the series i've read and the CNC fraternity isn't the main factor. Here we find Izzy who is kidnapped with a dark scarred man who was about to abuse her in an alley with the consent she gave 5 years ago.
This story is dark and twisted and we see how someone whose kink is suffering pain and someone who loves to kill and give pain encounter each other and find hope for themselves.
This is short and maybe it doesn't have much plot but like 3/4 of the book is inside a cell with not much to do. Just be aware of the TW.
This is a decadently dark read, a prequel to the CNC Fraternity series. Izzy is an on-line journalist and when she upsets the wrong criminal she is taken and given to the scarred man. Will she be able to survive what will happen next? Fast paced read with intense drama and chemistry. Plenty of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved it.
A very dark story. This story was very dark with elements that can be done to a person whether in anger or to make a point. It has a taste of dark erotica but was too dark for me. I finished reading it but I will not be reading more of the CNC fraternity series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Cari Silverwoods books aren't for the faint hearted and tend to leave you wondering wtf did I just read in the best way - which is exactly why I love them and devour them every time.
It's a really good shortish read. It has kidnapping, murder and spice all in one book. The main characters seems to know each others wants without being told. It definitely keeps you questioning Whats going to happen to the main female character because the main male character is never fully open about his intentions. Please be aware of your triggers before reading and read trigger warnings.
This book will take you on one crazy rollercoaster ride. I couldn’t put it down. Adelmo is crazy, Izzy is just as dark In her mind with what she fantasizes about. Now in the clutches of Aldemo on a boat after being captured by Montez how will Izzy survive. You need to read dark story. It was so good and you won’t put it down and you’ll crave more.
Wow! This book was not what I expected. I went in thinking this novella was going to be pure, questionable smut. I was not expecting to root for the characters. Honestly, I could have read an entire book about Adelmo and Izzy. Don't get me wrong, there is definitely questionable smut, and you should read the trigger warnings if you need them. Overall, this was a fun way to spend a couple of hours on the weekend!
I picked up Killer Bones because a friend rec’d me the CNC series, and this one was on sale. I have never read a Cari Silverwood book until now, which I have to say is a travesty. However, she’s got a new fan. I will devour her backlist for the rest of the year.
Also, props to the respect given to hardcore bdsm.
