Kerwyn the Apprentice

Rate this book
“Well my boy Kerwyn it looks like you’ve done it to yourself again.” A tall and lanky human male with brown unkempt hair and loose fitting clothing of blue and green robes was huddled on the floor covered in a sticky mess of magical webbing that had gone terribly wrong. Master Sernett looked Kerwyn in those strange troubled eyes. One eye was as black as the darkest night and the other so radiant a blue that one would think it was glowing with its own inner light. Master Sernett shook his head and wondered what he was going to do with the lad. He knew Kerwyn had the inner ability to do magic, but the boy had no focus. In fact, he could sense the greatest amount of the One Power in him that he has ever sensed in anyone. Sometime it was so powerful that Master Sernett wondered if the old legends were in fact true, and that the greatest wizard would one-day return to battle the Evil Master and finally rid the world of the Dark Tower and the evil creatures that lived inside. Shaking his head and chuckling to himself thinking that if this lad lying before him covered in sticky, magical webbing was the all-mighty wizard reborn, then this world was done for and the evil would surly be victorious this time.

Excellent book. Writing is a bit "B-grade," but the books plot is great, it just needs a better edit. I'm definitely eager to read the sequel! Note: it's kinda corny at parts; the author tends to write some long and detailed monologs and repeating of information, but I didn't mind it.

Only negative thing I'd say is the price is a bit high. I think it should be between 1.99 to 3.99, at most 4.99. The sequel can cost more, but that's because the first books in a series with a new author should be cheap to draw a potential reader in. I suspect that the current price is turning away potential readers.

Update - The second book in the series will still keep the Main Title of "The Legend of the Wizard's Apprentice." But it will have the subtitle called "Book 2 - Kerwyn the Wizard" I am working on it right now, and it should be available hopefully in the early, to mid months of the 2015. (edit, then edit, then re-edit again. we learn from our mistakes, so depending on how fast I can write this next book, and ensure that I have it edited multiple times. Will determine when it will be available for purchase.) I have been held up with the second book as I have been working on my first book again, I have sent it back for a more in-depth editing process. In the first edition there were a bunch of spelling and grammar errors that were missed. So I have been focusing on correcting those editing errors, and I will have Edition 2 out of my first book soon. I am just waiting on the last editing phase. Thank you everyone that has bought my book, and for not crucifying me too badly with the grammar mistakes. When it has been updated and re-published, I am being told that anyone who bought the original e-book will be getting notified about the edition 2 update once it becomes available. Again thank you all for taking the time to read my book, and for allowing me the opportunity to have you enter my world of fantasy and magic.
I am just an everyday person like you, with a story in my head that I wanted to get out.
Keep reading, and Never let the Legend die.

Best Regards,
Mike Ezekiel
