When an EMP cripples the nation's power grid, lawlessness erupts across the country. Fighting against the chaos, Bailey Smith must rescue her family from the city and bring them to a remote cabin in the West Virginia mountains.
Unfortunately the pacing in the first 3/4 of this story was terrible, it took nearly that long for the characters to even reach the small town. The characters had next to no personality and a lot of the descriptions were very repetitive and any time anyone laughed it was always described as a chuckle.
I didn’t think a post apocalyptic story could be boring but this one was. The scenes where the action should have happened were skipped over. The lead up to the scenes were there but then it was after the event. Show don’t tell, and the ending was just silly.
This story hits the ground running and only get better as more hell rains down on society. More than once you will be pumping your fist in the air as the characters take care of business in order to survive. Give this one a read. I don't think you will be disappointed.
