In the year 1803, amidst the ancient forests of Scandinavia, Magdalena finds herself at a crossroads in life. Her days of motherhood are behind her, and her husband’s indifference leaves her yearning for something more. Returning home after a visit to her sister, Magdalena’s life takes a perilous turn when she is ambushed by ruthless bandits in the heart of the forest.
Just as hope fades, a mysterious and mesmerizing savior appears—the Skogsrå, a beguiling forest spirit of otherworldly beauty and charm. Rescued from danger, Magdalena is captivated by the Skogsrå’s enchanting presence. In his company, she discovers a depth of passion she never imagined possible.
Drawn into a world of myth and desire, Magdalena surrenders to the Skogsrå’s seductive allure, embarking on a journey of sensual awakening and poetic romance. In the secluded embrace of the forest, their encounters blaze with intensity, igniting a fire within her that has long been dormant.
"Enchanted by the Skogsrå" is the first tale in the Lustful Legends series, where the ethereal and erotic intertwine. Through lyrical prose and vivid imagery, this story transports readers to a realm where the line between mortal and myth blurs, and where love’s true magic is revealed. Prepare to be spellbound by a tale of timeless desire and mythical enchantment.
This was a perfect short story read. It is very steamy but in a mild way, with no violence or dark romance (between the main characters). The main male character cares for Magdalena, the female lead, and enjoys pleasing and pleasuring her(a lot of oral giving). Even though he is portrayed as morally grey, the Skogsrå shows a milder and more gentle side. The whole story has a kind of fairy tale vibe. It is very detailed, and I truly enjoyed the poetic writing style. One should remember that the story takes place at the beginning of the 19th century when times were hard, especially for women. The fact that the main female lead is a grown middle-aged woman and not a 20-year-old is very refreshing. A lot of fantasy erotica tend to focus on younger women. If you want a short read with a fairy tale vibe, then this book is for you.
I was a beta reader for this book. The author's writing style sets it apart from many in the Erotica genre with a more 'poetic' approach. I found that intriguing. The historical setting feels very fitting. The portrayal of a male skogsrå seducing a woman, contrary to the usual female skogsrå seducing a man in Scandinavian folklore, was a refreshing twist. The story never felt repetitive and had a nice flow. I am looking forwards to reading the next book in the series.
I really enjoy author, Caroline Helenasdotter’s poetic turn of phrase. Her stories are always beautifully well-written with a gentle evolution in plot. A fantastical period piece with elements of Scandinavian folklore, Enchanted by the Skogsrå offers up a short and sweet traditional tale with a twist.
Refreshingly, Magdalena is a mature-aged woman whose children have grown and left the nest. Married to a man of means and title who seems indifferent to her needs she is at a crossroads in life. A chance meeting in the depths of the forest turns her existence and preconceptions on their head. Awakening her to the realities of old-world enchantment, mythical forest spirits, perilous seduction and primal passions.
