Hot Damned #2

Fashionably Dead Down Under

Rate this book
Welcome to Hell.
Literally.
The Hell where the Prince of Darkness is hotter than Hades, Hell Hounds smell like brownies and the Seven Deadly Sins are addicted to Facebook…Not to mention the soundtrack in the Underworld is Journey. For real.
I should have known no good could come from offing my parents in the space of twenty minutes no matter how psychotic and evil they were…
Now I find out my family tree includes almost every deity and mythological being alive while Ethan, the one and only love of my undead life has a limited time down under before he turns to dust. In the land of Sin, you’d think I’d get some nookie time with my man, but no. Baby Demons, cousins and grandparents put the kibosh on that. Blue balls are the new normal. What the hell does a half-Vampyre Half-Demon have to do to catch a break?
Apparently find a freakin’ sword, calm Mother Nature’s unmedicated mood swings and make sure Mister Rogers keeps his sticky fingers to himself during weekly poker with the Devil.
And I have three days to do it.
By all that’s unholy, I thought Ethan’s Vampyre family was crazy…Trust me, they have nothing on the Demons.

This is a 4.25 stars flaming read.

This is as hilariously funny as the first book in the series - I love Robyn Peterman books!
Following on directly after the first novel, Astrid finds herself sucked into Hell and shocked at what she finds - it's pretty damn good - well at least the upper levels are. There she meets Dixie and her father Satan, and the rest of his daughter's - The Seven Deadly Sins. Along with a plethora of fantasy characters and some rather funny real life ones, we follow Astrid, her baby demons and eventually Ethan on their quest to discover her purpose in life.
There are giggles a plenty and some rather awesome scenes - a few of my favourites are Satan arriving at a concert of a Journey cover band, Satan giving God demon horns in the family photos and the regular poker nights with Dante (who's seriously pissed that he got Hell wrong). There are a couple of smutty smut scenes and a language warning so I'd be saying this is an 18+ read.
If you're looking for a cosy urban fantasy that makes you grin and blush at the same time then you can't go wrong with this offering. 💖

Fashionable Dead Down Under by Robyn Peterman
2nd book in the Hot Damned series. Paranormal romantic comedy.
Astrid is in Hell. Literally. But it’s unlike anything expected. She’s tasked with finding a sword but interfering relatives make it almost impossible. Watch out for Mother Nature’s fury and the Seven Deadly Sins and, of course, those Baby Demons. Astrid just wants to get back to Ethan buts she’s a little busy at the moment.

Hilariously crazy and wonderfully zany. Expect the unexpected. And watch your back for those baby Demons. They can pop up anywhere and love to watch the action.

This is the second book in the series and I was excited and nervous when I started it. I loved the first book and this one lived up to my expectations. The author's writing is consistent, funny, smart and unpredictable.

Astrid
Astrid has been dragged to hell after getting rid of some unstable villlains.
Astrid is entertaining, a loose canon who fears and respects no one. She goes through momentary panic which is always followed by the thought, what next.

Satan
The Satan in this book is the Best Satan Ever. He's gorgeous, sneaky, witty, he cheats, he's cunning and ruthless.

“I am Satan, I have a reputation to uphold."

He's an involved father who believes in on the job training. And....Satan threw the best parties ever, period.

Hell
Hell was definitely not what Astrid or I expected. It was beautiful, had great weather and the music band Journey was a huge there.
I loved the vamp world but a change of setting did make things better.
Hell was dangerous, magical and twisted.

The Seven Sins
They are depicted as ancient, beautiful, powerful girls with no control and a bizzare sense of humour.

"How in the living Hell am I Sponge Bob?” Lust demanded. “There isn’t one sexy thing about Sponge Bob.”

description

"Things like this make me wish I’d had a vasectomy,” Satan bellowed."

Ethan
He was absolutely perfect for Astrid. He was possessive, protective, gorgeous and sweet. He constantly supported Astrid through all changes and held his own against Satan. I loved that he had eyes for no one but Astrid.

"You are my wife and my mate and everything that matters to me. Always,”

Astrid's Journey
Astrid was in Hell to learn about her heritage, her being the Vampyre Chosen One was just the tip of the iceberg. She has to find a powerful stolen weapon which can bring about chaos. She meets Dixie, a nice demon with a sense of humour and a mysterious past.

I love the author's writing. The story was fast paced, I put my reader down at 50% because the battery ran out. She twists mythology so that it suits the needs of her magical world. She weaves in popular myths and characters in a clever manner to create a fascinating world. This series is amazing and I can't wait to start book three.

Well that was far better than the first and not as predictable as I thought it would be. The world building is far fetched but I thought the author did a great job syncing it all together. This book was super steamy not as hot as it could be but you can’t have everything lol.

It actually took me a while getting around to finishing this book. (I've been having a month long readers block.) - and also because it's been many books in-between this one and the first book Fashionably Dead, so I needed a re-read to refresh my memory..

Bad idea

 photo tumblr_ml2enfmG4F1s4cl9mo1_500.gif

^^^ This is me on the inside. Right now.

I didn't enjoy it as much the second time around. I saw the flaws that my book brain didn't pick up on the first time, and this newly found idiot brain followed me through to the second book.

 photo tumblr_lyhcl9x2Xe1r0qp6so1_500.gif

Now let me just inform you. I've been waiting months for this book. Wanted it more than most. I was even stalking Robyn Peterman for updates on Facebook! I without a doubt was ready to sign this off as a 6 star rated book before even reading it.

And in satisfying my memory blocked brain, I destroy my fuzzy lovin - No flaws - feeling for this series.

 photo tumblr_mjrhi2DZA41s5lf2ro1_500.gif

Now that's all off my chest, I did still enjoy the book.

..It just wasn't up on the pedestal that I had placed it.

Yes, it was as weird and unique as the first. Made me giggle and snort, even question the authors state of mind.

But the humour as funny as it was, was at times overdone.
It seemed as though the author was trying too hard to fit in a little funny. Sometimes it worked, other times not so much.

I think what makes this series stand out from the rest, is it's weirdness. It's completely different from anything else I've read. It's what saves this book from being a flop in my eyes.

This is one trip to hell you don't mind taking. From the quirky mind of one twerking and hilarious Robyn Peterman. This is the second book and poor Astride is headed to hell to meet her side of the family. Satan is her uncle and the sins are her cousins. Oh yeah God is also her uncle and don't forget Mother Nature is her very hormonal grandmother , who is in dire need of medication. She is in a constant state of WTF and WTH when she meets her cousins , who are addicted to Facebook name generator games. You all know them and I know you all have tried to figure out your Easter bunny name or you leprechaun name. Admit it . I know I do lol, Ok now back to the review

There is something going on in hell and when Astride finds her mate Ethan at the mercy of Lust well all hell breaks loose and her half demon side comes out to play. They are safe for a moment. But Ethan has only a limited time in hell . But Satan has a few things to do before he lets them go, She has to find a special sword , try and keep MR ROGERS from cheating in poker. Yes Mr Rogers plays poker in hell with Dante and Hemingway. Mother Theresa also enjoys a good game also. Also her hormones are bouncing all over the place and sexy vampire mate Ethan doesn't help those at all. All she wants to do is take him to bed and keep him there for as long as she can. But the couple can't catch a break. Blue balls are in abundance in hell . Oh yeah the demon babies get into trouble in hell too , the strip club in hell will never be the same

Robyn's books are a great read and will keep you reading all night long. You will laugh you butt off most of the time. Her books are full of snarky fun loving characters, you will fall in love with. There are new characters in this book that you will fall in love with. Dixie the eighth daughter of Satan, is just the sweets girl you could imagine. I am hoping that the third book is about her time on earth and Astride and Ethan play a part in her story. So if you love funny snarky characters and the occasional asshat slipped in . Check out these books , they are fricken hilarious and you won't be disappointed. Great for those lazy summer days in the hammock

For a second time Robyn had me laughing out loud and earning odd looks from my family! Who knew Satan like Journey?
Astrid and Ethan are both back in this story. We also meet the Fates, and it is a neat twist on how they act too! Hell hounds that smell like brownies doesn't make Hell sound like a horrible place!
In this book we are following Astrid's journey in Hell and meeting her family that lives there for the first time. So many things happen and the book moves along at a great speed too.
If you are a paranormal fan, you have to read this. And you know that you want to read about Mr. Rodgers visiting Hell too!

The premise and the characters in the first book were outrageous. This second book is both more and less so. More so because of whom Astrid is related to and less so because once you accept the first relationship revelation, the easier and funnier the rest are to accept. Expect surprise after another.

In the last book Astrid had been kidnapped and taken to the Underworld since she’d just killed her demon king father. They want her to take his place. He wasn’t exactly who the vampyres thought he was. The fun and revelations begin not long after she arrives. At the end of the last book Ethan had also gone through a portal to find her or die trying. Vampyres can only survive up to a week in Hell. Astrid wants nothing more than to find Ethan and get back home. But she can’t go home until she finds a missing sword as its use could cause utter chaos throughout the realms.

The story is once again over the top, as are the revelations, relationships, the swearing and the sex. But if you can accept those, you’ve also got one incredibly funny story. I enjoyed this one better than the first book.

WOW! Ms. Peterman does it again! This book was so amazingly funny! I love her whole take on Heaven, Hell, Angels, Demons, God, Satan with Vampyres thrown in the mix. Its such a refreshing change from other books, plus you add the comedy effect, the crazy, sexy, hot love scenes and you have the makings for a very interesting, page turning book!

I absolutely adore Astrid and Ethan's relationship, they are so devoted and loyal to each other. They have such blinding faith and support one another 100%, its beautiful! I can't find anything wrong with their relationship except how poor Ethan kept getting co*kblocked at every turn, but that wasn't his fault...lol!

There was a lot going on this book, it did become a little confusing at times to keep all the information, names and prophecies together but it all came together nicely at the end.

I would like to know what happens with Satan and Amanda, the Seven Sins, Dixie, Cole, Astrid's baby demons and I missed many of the characters from book one, I hope they make appearances in book three! (Fingers crossed)

I realllyyyy loved this book. The first one was amazing and this was even better. I love me some Astrid and Etahn. Best couple ever. Astrid is getting powerful and so is the baby. She's like an awesome Neo. Well in this one we get to meet her crazy ass family in hell. Satan and God are her Uncles, The Sins are her cousins and those bitches are shady as fuck except for Dixie, Jesus is her cousin, Mother Nature is her freaking Grandmother and a Sprite Demon is her Grandpa. Now I thought Ethan's family was fucked up but damn Astrid takes the cake especially with her bi polar Grandma....ahem...GiGi. This was a fun read and I love the mixture of action and sprinkled with a little hot sex. I cannot wait until tthis baby is born. :D TWO YEARS??!!! OMG.

Fashionably Dead Down Under By Robyn Peterman

5 STARS!!!

Another amazingly awesome hilarious read by Robyn Peterman. Her writing is so easy and fun to read and I from now on will read every single book she ever writes.

Fashionably Dead Down Under is book 2 in the series so I highly recommend you read the first book before this or you will be completely confused. It continues right where book 1 left off and this book was so flippin funny!!!

Astrid is seriously one kick ass girl well vampyre. If you really liked her in the first book, she will blow your mind with this one. Her unfiltered mouth is the best thing in the world!! Who in their right mind would ever talk back to Satan or better yet call him and God a pansy ass? Yea, see, she is awesome!

I won’t talk too much about this since it is the second book in the series and I don’t want to spoil a single thing for anyone. This was full of new characters from the seven deadly sins, Hell Hounds that talk with their eyebrows (hilarious), God, to Mr. FREAKING ROGERS!!! There is our old favorites too which include Astrid (of course), Ethan and the adorably hilarious boob loving baby demons. The connection you feel with all these characters blew my mind. By the end of the book I felt as if I have known Astrid my entire life.

I love the way the author writes. Everything flows perfectly and there is never a dull moment. I am a HUGE fan of this author. She has made me fall in love with paranormal all over again. I can’t wait for the next book and to start her other series as well.

This series is a must must read! I love it and the author just informed me that book 3 Hell on Heels will be out in August and it will be Dixie’s story. The first book is still FREE on Amazon so there is no reason you cant give this a try. LOVED this one even more than the first so give it a try!!!!

Marie's Tempting Reads Review:

Fashionably Dead Down Under is so FREAKING AWESOME that it left me in a pile of contented goo, smiling and still laughing over the funny situations Ethan and Astrid got into while they were in Hell. There was so many surprises and unforgettable moments that I am sure this book will be my #1 for a LONG time!
So Fashionably Dead Down Under leaves off where Astrid is dragged to hell, and is worried she will be in BIG trouble for killing the King of Hell, her father, only to find out that her daddy was NOT the big cheese but the BROTHER of Satan. And that Satan is her uncle! FOR REAL! Oh and that the Seven Deadly Sins are her cousins.
I read along as Astrid finds herself...a guest of the underworld and she desperately wants to get back to her mate, Ethan. Only to find out Ethan is in Hell as well and has only a limited time to be there before he turns to dust. Lucky for Astrid she knows a few people that can help with that problem.
Ethan is so freaking gorgeous, and downright possessive and protective of his beautiful, powerful mate. Heck, that is why he is down in Hell to begin with. Gosh, I totally love a man..er vampire, that takes protecting his mate seriously, plus he sure knows how to seduce his mate.
In FDDU we get to meet some new characters, and learn a lot of new things about Astrid and why she is so stinking powerful. I LOVE the fact that I never knew what to expect in the book. Ms. Peterman made sure to add a TON of surprises where you least expected and it kept me entertained and charmed till the very end. I gave Fashionably Dead Down Under a FANTASTIC FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! Heck, it deserves a TEN! This book was a fun, outrageously hilarious, sexy read that will keep you guessing, and laughing till the very last page.

We welcome back Astrid & Ethan in the 2nd installment of the Hot Damned Series. It picks up right where the last one left off. You learn all about Astrid's family tree. And you can't help but laugh out loud with each page turned. You root for her while she bonds with Uncle Satan, giggle when Mister Rogers shows up for Hell's weekly poker game, and watch mortified as Mother Nature took her advice to learn pole dancing. This is just the tip of the iceberg with this book and Robyn has a winning series on her hands! Can't wait for Hell on Heels.

This story took right off where we left off from the last book. Lots of interesting information comes to light and it still has its laughable moments. However it didn't have as big of warm fuzzies at the previous book did.

It's actually quite funny because since Astrid is half demon we get to meet her Demon relatives. Lucifer, also requests that Astrid locate a sword before she can go back to earth and back to Ethan.

Still enjoyable because she gets into some shenanigans.

Pet Peeve, overused words. I have read the most recent work from this author and loved it. This series is a challange so far, it seems so immature for what I know of her work. The main character acts and thinks like a preteen most of the time and damn it she giggles all the time ! Many of the characters find themselves giggling at really weird moments. The giggles didn't fit with characters, were so overused it distracted from the story.
The story, the MC is this all powerful all connected Mary Sue of epic proportions, I mean epic, over the top, are you kidding me level. With a future character in the pot that is supposed to be another amazing all powerful one.
I don't know if I want to continue, I wanted to read her early series to watch her develop her skills but, yes there is a big but, GIGGLES. I've read 2 books and still don't really care what happens to the characters or their world

This book had me cracking up. I loved Astrid but her cousin Envy was kind of funny also. Satan and God were fun. Mother Nature was a hoot and so was her grandfather. Talk about a fun family tree! The little demons were adorable and the hellhounds as well. Overall, the book was just plain fun and I can't wait to read more.

Fashionably Dead Down Under by Robyn Peterman is book 2 in her Hot Damned series. This really isn't a stand alone book. I highly recommend you read the first book, Fashionably Dead first. Because this book continues right where the first book left us hanging, readers may be completely confused.

Astrid had been taken to Hell by demons. She is as smart-mouthed and independent as she was in the first book. She also has new powers that are developing rapdily and she is often unsure how to handle them or herself as she is tested.

Ethan is on his way to Hell to rescue Astrid but gets waylaid by one of the deadly sins. Astrid and Ethan has some remarkable sexy times but they also become so much more in their relationship in this book.

Yes, there are a whole new cast of secondary characters who really aren't secondary at all. Astrid meets Satan, the seven deadly sins, Hell Hounds that talk with their eyebrows and smell like brownies, her cousin Dixie, Mother Nature, Mr. Roges, Dante and God. Each one of these characters are fully developed and pivotal to this storyline.
Astrid and Ethan has some remarkable sexy times but they also become so much more in their relationship in this book.

You can expect surprises, and plot twists and turns as Astrid and Ethan meet each new challenge. The pace is quick and will keep you reading until you reach the end.

I love Astrid and Ethan! Review to come.

This review contains minor spoilers for the previous book in the series.

Fashionably Dead Down Under, book two in the Hot Damned series by the brilliantly funny Robyn Peterman picks up right where Fashionably dead left off, with Astrids painful "Journey" into hell, where things are not quite what she expects. Throughout this book we are introduced to an amazing (and rather well known) cast of characters, who are all treated to the same snarky sass we have come to expect from Astrid. While she makes more than passing acquaintance with a host of the most powerful beings in creation, we are able to relive the personality that made us fall in love with her in the first book. She will do anything for the man she loves and the people she cares for. Her set of powers continue to expand, and she learns to use the without losing herself to the power.

Peterman does an amazing job of pulling the reader into the story and getting us invested in the characters, and u am always left wanting more! I anxiously await the third installment of this Fashionably Awesome series.

I've been checking to see if this has been released almost everyday. When is this coming out ?!!!

I am left highly unsatisfied. There were the same characters, the same amazing jokes, and I still felt that something was missing.
For now I'm giving three stars, on Monday I will write a full review.

Okay, i tried to read this again but it's to soon.

The book starts off with Astrid arriving in hell. She meets Satan, and his daughter Dixie. He tells her she has to learn about her demon side so she has to stay.
I loved the whole idea of her in hell, learning the ropes, and meeting the demons.
After Astrid leaves, Ethan follows soon after.
I loved the seven sins, and how the Author incorporated them into the story.
I am a fashion lover at heart, I'm glad that Astrid stayed true to her Prada whore ways.
I loved Astrid's little demons, they make me laugh like crazy.
I thought it over and I'm updating my review to 4 stars.

Another quirky installment to the Hot Damned series. This one picks up right where book 1 ends. Astrid is in hell and gets a crash course in the old family tree. This one wasn't quiet as funny as the first one was but still an enjoyable read. I did miss our Oprah look alike angel though. We get a new set of characters in hell, like Dante and Mr. Rogers lol. I'll be picking up book 3 soon.
