A sexy, small town, grumpy sunshine, single dad, sports romance from USA Today Bestselling Author Willow Aster

I fell in love with his little girl first.

From the moment nine-year-old Becca Fox and I hugged, it was like we’d known each other forever. Precocious, sweet, and kind, I just knew this little girl was exceptional. Her dad, though? Not so much.

Bowie Fox checks every box in the looks department—rugged, intense, and the kind of man who makes you forget how to breathe—but his personality? About as warm as a snowstorm.

That is, until we’re seated together at his best friend's wedding, and then…we dance.

For hours.

Beneath that gruff and hard exterior, I catch glimpses of a man who wants to let loose and enjoy life.

After the wedding, when a hotel mixup leaves me without a room and stranded in Landmark Mountain, Bowie invites me to stay in his room. In his bed.

It’s innocent at first. Until it’s not. A sizzling one-night stand for the books. Then I wake up alone and when I see him at breakfast, he is as distant as ever.

Bowie lets me know his life revolves around Becca, his teammates, and football. He makes it perfectly clear that there is no room for anyone else—especially the bubbly coach of his daughter.

As much as our paths keep crossing, I know the broody linebacker isn’t ever planning on falling for me, but when I find out I am pregnant—I wonder, Can he fall for us?

Wicked Love is book four in The Single Dad Playbook series. Each book can be read as a standalone.

1 star is for BECCA my precious Becca.

This is every single wrong thing about grumpy-sunshine single dad books.
It is where the FMC does all the work in their relationship.

-the sunshine character is just a code word for doormat
-the grumpy character is just a code word for mean, hot then cold who dismissed and ghosted the sunshine character plenty of times.
-the sunshine character is always horny and keeps humiliating herself with how much she bend over with the grumpy character’s mood swings.
-the grumpy character only has to say a meek “sorry” for all the mean shit he said and did and the sunshine character will eat that shit up and lust over him repeatedly like the embarrassing woman she is.

I watch, entranced, as it falls back to his chin, and I wish I could be the skin that it touches.
Poppy! Stop lusting over this man and be firm.

—> Her thinking this after him ghosting her for the 123rd time 🤦🏻‍♀️

oh bowie, becca and poppy you will always be loved by me!!! 😭💜

the way this series just keeps getting even better and even more sweeter, i cant!! i think i have said it for every book so far but this is by far THE single dad series in my eyes, there are just not enough words to describe how much i love everyone in these books 😭

its so funny to me because apparently the surprise pregnancy aspect of this book just went way over my head during trope reveals bc BOY WAS I SURPRISED LMAOOO. literally just had me thinking, oh she took a bad fall earlier maybe its just a concussion and then i had a thought “well… i mean the pregnancy talk in this book has felt a bit foreshadowy”… next page, boom pregnant 😂 i DIED laughing bc how is rhodes responsible for not only one but TWO accidental pregnancies, why are people still taking condoms from this man!!!! in all seriousness, the surprise pregnancy was honestly so much fun and added a lot of depth and room for character growth 🥹

becca, light of my life, the star of this show oh how i loved her!!! the bond between her and poppy was just so beautiful to watch grow. i was immediately hooked on these two from the end of reckless love, there is truly no one better that could have come into hers and bowies life than poppy. everything about these three is so special to me 😭💜

all of the men through out this series have been soooo *chefs kiss* but even though theyre all perfect in my eyes no one has been able to beat out weston for top dilf spot yet and well… sorry wes, bowies grumpy ass has dethroned you 🤭

the character growth this man went through during this book my goodness, was he an amazing man before? yes. is he even more perfect now that poppy is there? YES.

im having such a hard time conveying just how much this book (and series) is everything to me, willow has such a way with words and brings so much gentleness to things that could be considered hard topics for some people

i just cannot believe we are already almost at the end (i think??) with penns book 😭 i am SO excited to see his journey with growing up and leaving his bachelor life behind, how he will grow and navigate life with sam and just how this mystery woman will end up playing a role in everything!! (my theory is sam’s social worker or attorney he will need to hire 🤭)

i simply cannot recommend this series enough to all of you who love hot but also emotional/plot driven single dad romances, if you havent started any of these books yet you NEED to jump on it asap

This was so sweet! Willow Aster always hits me in the feels! I was so hooked on Bowie and Poppy. Add the edition of Bowie's adorable daughter, Becca and I am an absolute mess! This had so much of what I love in a Contemporary Romance. A single dad, found family, grumpy sunshine, and loving community and I am a happy gal.

Now Bowie is a very jaded man, and he doesn't get off on the right foot with Poppy. He is protecting his heart, and his only focus is on Becca. She is on the spectrum of Autism and she is his whole world. He has been burned before with love, and I completely understand him. He also has a complicated relationship with him dying father and his partially estranged mother. So, the dynamic with that was heartbreaking at times.

Poppy brought such light and energy into his life, so it was understandable that when they both got a little carried away at a wedding out of town, he can't help himself. He does reject her a bit too quickly afterward, which is always a bummer to see, but again, I can chalk that up to his fear for his daughter.

Once we have the surprise pregnancy, enter the story, which is a bit of a ways on, he was all in, and that won me over from there on out. Ths was truly a lovely romance, and it was tied for book 1 for me in terms of my enjoyment.

This was also narrated by the excellent Samantha Brentmoor and JH Harding, with a special guest of Lily D. Moore, who voiced Becca, whenever she appeared. It was in dual narration for the main couple, but Becca was always performed by Lily. Very beautiful and I was truly touched by the performances.

Wicked Love by Willow Aster
4/5⭐
2,5/5🌶️

This is the fourth book in the series, and I have to say, it’s a delightful read! It centers on Bowie and Poppy, and even though some people shy away from pregnancy tropes, I found it so enjoyable. The chemistry between Bowie and Poppy is undeniable, and I was cheering for them right from the start! Bowie is a football player and a devoted single dad. After his ex left him and their daughter, Becca, he decided to focus all his love and energy on Becca, football, and his friends. Then there’s Poppy, who’s new in town and works with children with special needs. When she meets Becca, they click instantly! Poppy is drawn to Bowie, but he’s made it clear he’s not looking for a relationship. That is, until they end up spending one night together, and a few weeks later, Poppy finds out she’s pregnant.

What I loved most about Bowie is his dedication to Becca. Being a single parent isn’t easy, especially with Becca having Down syndrome, but he handles it so well. He truly believes he’ll be single forever until Poppy walks into his life. At first, he tries to keep his distance and comes off a bit rude, but the more he gets to know her, the harder it is to resist his feelings. Poppy has such a sunny personality and is amazing with kids, and it really shines through when she and Becca connect so beautifully. Their bond is special and brought a few emotional moments for me.

Bowie and Poppy’s journey isn’t without its bumps. They both have to learn to trust each other and open up, especially Bowie. When he finds out about Poppy’s pregnancy, he’s understandably shocked and needs time to process everything. But I loved that once he took some time to think it through, he truly committed. Watching him lower his walls and start to trust Poppy with Becca shows his growth, especially when he realizes she isn’t anything like his ex. The themes of friendship and found family really shine in this book. I adored the moments when the previous characters hung out together; those scenes made me laugh and warmed my heart. This book is such a fantastic addition to the series, and I can’t wait to dive into Penn’s story next!

3.5 stars! Wicked Love is book 4 in the Single Dad Playbook series, the whole series has been super cute and pretty low angst. This one is a single dad, grumpy x sunshine, small town, sports (he’s a football player), surprise pregnancy romance (it’s in the blurb)!

Bowie Fox is linebacker for the Colorado Mustangs and single dad to his 9-year old daughter Becca (Down Syndrome rep). Poppy enters their life when the story starts. They end up meeting at his best friend’s wedding, sitting at the same table and dancing together. They hit it off and even end up sharing a room that night, when a hotel mixup has her without a room after the wedding. What was meant to be only one night, leads to a whole lot more! She is a part of his daughter’s life and also finds out she’s pregnant from their night together.

This was a cute, found family romance. His daughter is an active part of the story which I liked. The friend group he has with his teammates and their single dad playbook entries was so sweet. A very easy, cute, surprise pregnancy romance! I’ve enjoyed others in the series more, but another solid addition.

I received an audio ALC, all thoughts in this review are my own.

Wicked Love is here! The most hard fought but most rewarding single dad HEA to date! Willow Aster continues to deftly weave effortlessly charming and endlessly swoony magic with the most delicious single dad yet and with the best single dad surprise 😉 I just loved my Bowie and Becca (the star of the show) and how they find just what they both need in Poppy- the perfect heroine for them both and the missing piece of their family puzzle.

The audio is SOOOO fantastic and wonderfully produced. Samantha Brentmoor simply sparkles as Poppy. Samantha Brentmoor always delivers so much emotional range- and she captures Poppy’s loving heart so beautifully in this performance. And JF Harding is simply delicious as Bowie. He has all of Bowie’s grit and edge but also brings his vulnerability out in this performance. And the star is hands down the fantastic Lily D Moore as Becca. Becca is such a charming and endearing character who steals every scene she’s in- and Lily brings her to live with vibrance and so much heart. A fantastic audio!

Can we believe Penn is the last man standing?! (Get ready yall- man goes down HARD…)

3/5🌶️

I just love this series by Willow Aster and I had to continue with this next book, which is the 4th one. They are all interconnected but it can be read as a standalones too. Thank you Willow and Valentine Pr for this awesome e-book!

This book follows single dad football player, Bowie Fox and beautiful Poppy Keane. Bowie's little girl, Becca, was such a cutie and had an awesome personality even though she was suffering from Down sindrom. She was definitely the main star of this book, having so many sweet and fun appearances.

Bowie was reluctant in having someone new in his life because of Becca, who needed somebody who had that natural connection with her and to know how to treat her. Becca's mom wasn't in their lives, not wanting to have this role. Poppy was the one all Bowie's friends thought was perfect for him, these two already having a crazy connection from the start.

I just had a blast reading this book! I laughed a lot, I felt emotional because of all those sweet scenes with Becca and Poppy, all being mixed with some super hot scenes which were delivered by Bowie and Poppy. Their one night stand had definitely changed their lives, not expecting, for sure, to have that little accident. That wasn't really a factor in everything that was building between them, because they had an insane connection from before. Having such a great relationship with Becca was for sure a plus for Poppy and something which melted Bowie's heart.

I just loved this amazing book, especially because of these 3 and because of the appearance of the other characters from the previous books, which made this story even more fun. Of course, these big gangs are something I love, their connection being more like family than friends.

𝑴𝒚 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔:
Our fourth single dad is here and he does not disappoint!

Bowie has a nine year old daughter, Becca, and since her mom left when she was a baby he had trouble opening up to women. But then Becca meets Poppy and it's love at first sight for these two. Becca is in dire need of a mother, Bowie is trying to push her off but he's very much interested in her.

Bowie lets loose at his best friend's wedding, they spend the night together, but then he's closed off again. He's giving Popy very mixed signals but when Poppy finds out she's pregnant, things might change for them.

I've been looking forward to Bowie and Becca's story. She's such a cute girl, and my heart was aching when she kept on asking for a mom. Seeing Bowie so grumpy with everyone except for his daughter showed how much love he had to give and I was here for it! The fact that Poppy becomes part of their group of friends and ends up everywhere he is was very fun. He can't escape her (and he doesn't really want to).

They both have insecurities and I love the way their characters are developed. We learn about their fears, past traumas, their regrets, and it makes them trying to be together so damn sweet. They balance each other really well.

I can't believe we're at book 4 of this single dad series. It just keeps on getting better and better. Penn is last, and I'm so excited to get his story!

Wicked Love is the 4th book in the Single Dad's Playbook Series. It can read entirely fine as a standalone, but characters from previous books definitely have a big presence in the story. All of the members of the found family have a beautiful part in this. This was absolutely adorable, sweet and it just stole my heart. Willow continues to deliver amazing stories, scorching chemistry, beautiful romances and unforgettable characters. Once I started I couldn't stop, I fell in love with Bowie, Poppy & Becca.

Poppy is such a fun character, she is adorably clumsy, and has the most beautiful heart. She was just a true light in this book. Bowie, my poor damaged hot daddy. He went through a lot and I loved how the author approached it with care, how he grew from that trauma and fears. The strength with which he loves his daughter is so beautiful, it just made me fall for him even more. Becca stole the show, she was the absolute sweetest little girl, she just wanted to be loved by a mother and the relationship she developed with Poppy absolutely warmed my heart in the best way. Let's not forget the love story and chemistry between Bowie & Poppy, it was absolutely beautiful and explosive.

Overall, I absolutely loved this installment of the series. The single dads just keep getting better and better. I can't wait for the next book!

Okay how does this series just get better and better.

I have loved all the guys, but Bowie and his daughter Becca stole my heart, and when they both fell for Poppy, it just hit me all in the feels.

What I love about this series and this book in particular is that even though they are all single dads, their experiences and circumstances are so different.

Bowie is our grump, the quiet guy who has a child with special needs and he has been hurt before. And he wants to protect himself and his daughter from that agin. But Poppy is a literal gem and slowly wears down his walls. I also appreciated how the surprise pregnancy aspect was handled in this as well.

And how Poppy and Becca bonded, it brought me to literal tears.

Also the quickest way to my heart is a big tough guy with a little ugly dog and Martha the Chinese Crested was absolutely fantastic.

Now bring on Penn. Because he is a NEED

While I’ve really enjoyed every book in the series so far I’ve been looking forward to this book the most because of the glimpses of Bowie and Becca shown in the previous books. I knew their bond would be special and it was just about the cutest thing I’ve ever read. Before he meets Poppy, Becca is about the only person who can get Bowie to let loose and have a little fun and seeing him just be happy and content was so sweet. Becca is adorable, pure sunshine and innocence and she reminded me of my own son. He also has special needs and he lights up every room he enters, so she was such an important character to me and I appreciated the beautiful disability representation. I loved Poppy as well and her bond with Becca was cute and special. The audio was perfect, I have listened to so many books narrated by Samantha lately and she nails it every single time somehow. J. F. is fairly new to me but wow, so so good and the addition of Lily as Becca was beyond perfect and charming. If you want a low angst adorable listen with some amazing tropes this was fantastic.

This is the fourth book in the Single Dad Playbook series and could be read as a standalone if you preferred, but the characters from the first three books are mentioned a lot and play a key role in Bowie and Poppy’s relationship.

Bowie is a single dad to nine year old little girl, Becca and she is quite literally his entire world. She was born with Down Syndrome and her mom left when she was very young. Now Bowie doesn’t have time nor the desire to find love again…or so he thinks. 🤭

I loved these characters so much. Bowie is grumpy and protective and such an amazing father to Becca. Becca is just the sweetest little thing and Poppy, she is the perfect addition to the family. Becca adores her and she adores Becca! I found this story to be the sweetest of the series so far. It didn’t feel like it had a ton of angst, which was nice in my opinion. I overall just enjoy this really sweet read.

Bowie, Poppy, and Becca were everything!!
I loved learning about Bowie and his past. What keeps him so grumpified (poor guy has a lot to unpack) Becca one hundred percent steels the show with her happy personality! Poppy with her endless patients. Honestly, I loved every minute of this book! I wouldn't change anything. This series has made my heart so happy and will be a series I re-read in the future. Wicked Love burrowed deep in my heart, and I am not mad about it in the slightest. My review won't do this book justice. 10 out of 10. Would recommend 100 times over.

NARRATOR THOUGHTS:
•Narrators: Samantha Brentmoor, JF Harding and special guest. Lily D. Moore.
•Dual Narration
•Listening at a 1.5 speed.
Those audiobooks that have the perfect pairing of narrators? This was that audiobook. JF and Samantha nailed their characters, and truthfully, I am not surprised! Both Smamantha and JF have finaminal talent, and I would love to see them paired up more. The wide range of emotions they depicted in this book was so well done. This audio was chefs' kiss! Lily D Moore was absolutely perfect! She captured Becca's happy and cheeriness personality!! This book is already perfection but add in the audio. Top tier! Loved it!! You need this booknin audio.

Recommendation Note:
I always encourage people to read what makes them happy. If it sounds good, read it! My reviews are just that, my opinions. I do, however, hope they are helpful and provide a little insight in helping you to determine the next book you chose to read.
Happy reading, friends.

This follows Poppy and Bowie. Poppy is the local owner of Twinkle Tales Bookstore, while Bowie is an NFL player with a beautiful daughter named Becca. One day, when they visit the bookstore, Becca can’t stop talking about Poppy. Now, every time Becca sees Poppy, she can’t resist saying hello. But can her grumpy father also be charmed by Poppy?

This was an enjoyable, feel-good romance, and I highly recommend the audiobook if you want to pick it up! I loved that Becca was also part of the narration, and all the narrators were brilliant. I appreciated that these two didn’t connect instantly. There was some hesitation, and they were unsure about one another, gradually forming a relationship over time—it wasn’t an instant spark. Bowie struggles with relationships due to being burned in the past, so he isn’t sure how to handle Poppy in the beginning. This added more character depth and patience. Poppy didn’t dismiss him right away but was upfront about the initial situations. I loved Poppy as a character and how accepting and loving she was toward Becca. Also love a good pregnancy romance at the moment. Enjoyed this one.

The fourth book in the Single Dads Playbook series, this is a beautifully romantic grumpy/sunshine, single dad, surprise pregnancy story. It has all the feeling and build-up of a slow burn romance, and the heartwarming emotion of a broody tough guy falling really freaking hard. It’s a sweet and sexy feel-good read, and I loved it.

Bowie is an NFL star and one of a group of football players and best friends who have settled together in a small town. He is gruff and quiet, showing little emotion, but the man is an absolute marshmallow for his eight year old daughter, Becca. Becca has Down syndrome, and her mother is not in the picture, and Bowie is protective and adoring of his little girl. He has his daughter, his friends and his career, and has no intention of bringing anybody else into his little circle. Becca and his friends have other ideas though.

Poppy is a sweetheart, and from the moment she and Becca meet, they are both completely smitten with each other. She’s also growing close to the wives and girlfriends of Bowie’s friends, so she’s constantly in the orbit of the big broody man that she’s crushing on madly, but he wants nothing to do with her. Which is embarrassing, because their friends seem intent on setting them up. When they are seated next to each other at a wedding and end up spending the whole evening together, it culminates in a steamy hook up, and it looks like things are about to change… until Bowie runs.

It's a frustrating situation for both of them. Bowie is feeling things he never wanted to feel, he’s terrified and is determined to keep his distance, and while Poppy longs for something real with Bowie, she knows he’s not interested so she tries to respect that and stay away. But Becca and their undeniable chemistry keeps pulling them back together, and I loved watching them both fall so helplessly.

“Trust me. It may not have been obvious, but I am so into you.”
My face flames and I lift a shoulder, pretending to be oh-so-chill when inside, my heart is shimmying all over the place. “It seems like you’re into me about twenty percent of the time.”
He shakes his head and points at his face. “Resting dick face…it means nothing.”

When Poppy discovers that she’s pregnant from their night together, it adds to the intensity of all that is happening between them, and I was SO on board with it all! Watching the reluctant, grumpy hero open his heart and show his soft, vulnerable side is absolutely gorgeous.

“Poppy,” he says huskily. “What are you doing to me?”
“What do you mean?”
“How are you doing this? You’re burrowing into me like a persistent whisper I can’t stop hearing,” he breathes, his voice taut with emotion. “Your goodness is,” his forehead rests against mine, the warmth of his breath fanning across my cheek, “consuming me. Your beauty. Your gentleness with Becca. The way you feel in my arms.” … “I can’t think straight when I’m near you, and I can’t think straight when I’m not.”
… “I’m terrified,” he admits. His gaze drops to my mouth, then rises again, locking on my eyes. “And I don’t want it to stop.”

I do love a surprise pregnancy book, and what I especially loved about this book is that it’s not just the pregnancy that brings them together. The feelings are already there, and they had found their way to each other, the baby just brings extra emotion, intensity and excitement as we wait for the big reveal and their reactions, and is the cherry on top of this beautiful love story.

There’s no unnecessary drama, no stupid behaviour, and no third act breakup. We see these two find their way to each other and stay that way, and the latter part of this book reads like a glorious epilogue as we see them living their happy ending, with all of the key moments that romance junkies like me crave.

The rest of the boys, and their girls, are a big part of the story, encouraging Bowie and Poppy together, having their backs without question, and being their supportive, yet playful selves. I loved the group chats and the teasing, and loved seeing them all happy and together.

This is another gorgeous read from Willow Aster. She can be relied upon to bring the swoon and leave me with a big smile on my face, and I loved this one.

4 stars.

4.5✨

This single dad romance was exactly what I needed. Sweet, heartwarming, and low on drama, it pulled me in from the start, and I’m pretty sure I had a smile on my face the entire time.

This is an interconnected standalone. Each book in this single dad football series sets up the next, so while you don’t have to read the earlier ones, doing so definitely enhances the experience.

I adored Bowie, Poppy, and of course, his daughter Becca - who completely stole the show and played a huge part in the story. Becca connected with Poppy right away, and while Bowie felt the spark too, he tried to resist, leading to loads of chemistry and the perfect slow burn. I love a good broody hero, and their dynamic gave off strong grumpy-sunshine vibes, especially when he pulls away after their one night together. I loved how his devotion to Becca kept pulling him back toward Poppy. I honestly can’t remember the last time I rooted this hard for characters to end up together.

There were so many touching moments, and a few times I braced for miscommunication or a third-act breakup, but it never went there. I love when a story surprises me. The tension was just right, emotional, but never overdone. Their accidental pregnancy wasn’t used as a plot device to force them together; it felt like a natural progression of their growing connection.

I may have also gushed when the cover connects to a particular scene in the book.

The ending set up for Penn’s book - ugh…I can’t wait!

3.5⭐️ Single dads 🤝🏽 me! Give me all the single dad romances, every day & I’ll be happy. This one is no different!

In this one we follow Bowie, the single dad to Becca with amazing hair & a banging football bod & Poppy who is new in town and immediately had a delightful connection with Becca. As Bowie opens himself up to love, him and Poppy go on a whirlwind romance leaning on their friends along the way.

I think that Willow does such an amazing job at really exposing her characters to hardships & real life moments that you can’t help but fall in love with them. Poppy, Bowie, & Becca were no exception! They were so easy to love. The conversations flowed, the romance sparked, & the single dads who aren’t really single anymore supported each other with heartfelt moments! I found the relationship progressed a little weird timing wise, the pregnancy part seemed like it was kind of the saving grace & made the couple get together when they really didn’t want to before that? Maybe that’s just me, but it took me out of the story quite a bit. However, I’ll read any single dad book Willow writes! Can’t wait for book 5!

🎧 the audio of this one was so good. I find myself loving JF Harding so bad in this one. He perfectly portrayed the grumpy football player. Samantha Brentmoor can truly do no wrong. Her male voice is absolutely top tier. I loved Lily’s moments narrating Becca as well. It was so sweet & the most perfect addition to the audio. 5/5🎙️

Wicked Love is book 4 in the Single Dad Playbook series. I enjoyed Bowie and Poppy’s story so much. I loved the connection and chemistry between Poppy and Bowie, and Becca just has my whole heart.

The audiobook was so good. Samantha Brentmoor and JF Harding perform this audiobook in dual narration and did an amazing job.

One of my very favorite tropes is the single dad. I just swoon hard for them. But a WHOLE series of single dads that play professional football? This is my dream!

Sweet little Becca Fox is enamored with Poppy, a woman that is full of sunshine and works at a center that Becca wants to visit. Bowie is Becca's father, a football player with a gruff exterior and not looking for any sort of relationship because the one he has with his daughter will ALWAYS come first. But when Poppy is invited to a wedding that Bowie is a part of, walls start to fall and we get to see a part of Bowie that he lets so few see.

Wicked Love is the fourth book in The Single Dad Playbook and dare I say it's my favorite so far? Bowie is father to Becca whose star shined so bright in this story that I couldn't help but fall for her and Bowie as her father. She brought a lightness and happiness to the story that just made me want to hug this book. Becca has Down Syndrome and is the light of Bowie's life. He does everything for her and in his eyes, she will always be his number one. Her happiness comes before all else, including his own. But what's that saying? You can't make others happy or healthy if you are not happy or healthy yourself? I think that was what endeared me to Poppy. Because she never wanted to take the place of Becca. In fact, she may have fallen for Becca before Bowie. Although his looks (and hair #iykyk) did help him. :)

"We're all cut out for love, Bowie. Every single one of us. If you think you don't deserve it, it's probably because you deserve it more than anyone."

I really enjoyed this story and the thoughtful Down syndrome rep. While I loved Poppy and Bowie as individuals, I really adored sweet Becca. She was almost the glue to everything. I loved how kind and thoughtful Poppy was and how she fit seamlessly into the lives of Bowie and Becca and his friends who have become his family. I think that's another aspect that I've enjoyed so much with this series. The friend group and how each man has been "taken down and out" by a woman and making them the "not so single dad" group. If you've read the previous books, you'll enjoy watching each man's journey and the way they show up in the other guys books, but you don't have to read them in order. Just jump in and enjoy the great group of characters that have all become a tight knit family with some great advice and thoughts they keep in their "playbook".

If you enjoy....

Grumpy Sunshine
One Bed
Single Dad
Found Family
Sports Romance
Sweet daughter that just wants the love of a mother
With low angst and the best all around characters

Then make sure you pick this one up and be prepared to swoon and fall in love with Bowie, Poppy, Becca and the whole gang.

This audiobook is truly exceptional. We are fortunate to have Samantha Brentmoor and JF Harding as narrators, and Lily D. Moore brings Becca’s voice to life. This is how an audiobook should be done! I was immediately moved to tears by the first chapter. Willow’s writing is impeccable when it comes to romance, and the trope of a solo dad to a child with a disability melted my heart. Enter Poppy, a beacon of sunshine and everything Becca and Bowie need. This is a heartwarming story that will evoke deep emotions. I want to express my sincere gratitude to Willow and her team at Valentine PR for providing me with the opportunity to listen to the audiobook before its release on April 10th.

Book Overview:
I fell in love with his little girl first.
From the moment nine-year-old Becca Fox and I hugged, it was like we’d known each other forever. Precocious, sweet, and kind, I just knew this little girl was exceptional. Her dad, though? Not so much.
Bowie Fox checks every box in the looks department—rugged, intense, and the kind of man who makes you forget how to breathe—but his personality? About as warm as a snowstorm.
That is, until we’re seated together at his best friend's wedding, and then…we dance.
For hours.
After the wedding, when a hotel mixup leaves me without a room and stranded in Landmark Mountain, Bowie invites me to stay in his room. In his bed.
It’s innocent at first. Until it’s not. A sizzling one-night stand for the books.

Thank you MLA for the #gifted ALC!

When I hear there is a whole series devoted to single dad’s…. I hesitated. Becuade how many different stories can you get right? Wrong. Willow delivers again and again. I have loved every book of this series and I’m so glad we’re not done yet.

Expect 👉🏼 Single Dad, Only One Bed/ONS, Grumpy/Sunshine, Special Needs Child, Accidental Pregnancy, Found Family

It could have been fate. Poppy has seamlessly slipped into friendship with all the women in Bowie’s friend group. His daughter, Becca, is enamored with her. She’s beautiful and treats his daughter well. But Bowie will never again let his guard down and fall in love. If his past taught him anything, it’s that only his daughter and his career matter. So when their innocent sleepover turns into a night of passion, Bowie promptly informs Poppy that he will not give her anything more that the one night.

I am floored. Having a narrator just for Becca was PERFECT! I love that she got her own voice in this story.

Not going to lie… a man who is singularly focused on being the best dad ever? Hot as hell. Bowie was grumpy but I get it. I loved him. And I loved how poppy chipped away at his armor and loved Becca no matter what Bowie said or did.

The Found Family in this friend group is amazing. And the DUET narration of JF Harding, Samantha Brentmoor and special guest Lily D Moore was PERFECT!

Wicked Love is the 4th book in the Single Dad Playbook series, and it is my second favorite (Mad love is still my favorite). I have enjoyed every book in this series, and this one was a perfect accidental pregnancy, small town, grumpy x sunshine romance.

Bowie is a professional football player and single dad to the sweetest daughter, Becca. His daughter has down syndrome, and he has completely shut himself off from relationships since her mother abandoned her. Poppy is a new friend of the women in this found family of football players, and they end up having a one night stand at a wedding. They had amazing chemistry and a perfect night together, but Bowie kind of shuts things down after their night together. Poppy and Bowie had great chemistry, and they couldn't seem to stay away from each other, especially with how beautiful the bond is between Poppy and his daughter. Things get more complicated when Poppy realizes she is pregnant and how to tell him.

This was such a sweet, low angst book with outstanding side characters. I love the found family in this series, and I can't wait for the next book that was teased at the end.

This audiobook was narrated by JF Harding & Samantha Brentmoor and featured Lily D. Moore as Becca. I thought Lily did an amazing job bringing Becca to life, and she delivered a beautiful performance. JF Harding & Samantha Brentmoor are two of my favorite narrators, and they were perfection as Bowie and Poppy.

I have enjoyed this series and was excited for Bowie and Becca’s book, which is how I’ve been thinking of it the whole time. Bowie really took the grumpy in grumpy/sunshine to new levels. That man was barricaded behind so many walls it’s a wonder he could see anything beyond them.

I loved that despite how guarded her dad was, Becca was so completely open. It was truly a testament to the safety and love she felt from those around her.

Poppy and Bowie were interesting together. I definitely understood that Bowie felt blindsided by Poppy’s decision to withhold information from him. That being said, the hot-and-mostly-cold attitude from Bowie didn’t exactly feel receptive. I was glad that they both moved on from this conflict pretty quickly.

Surprise pregnancy is not my favorite trope but I didn’t mind it in this book. I think we had enough plot and character development happening outside of the pregnancy so that this alone wasn’t the main focus. We still got a ton of relationship development beyond the pregnancy.

Bowie sure did a 180 from wanting nothing to do with Poppy! 😉 I think the growth that Willow writes for her fictional men is one of my favorite things in her books.

Review

Poppy was exactly the kind of woman that Bowie & Becca deserved to have in their lives. She was sweet, caring and had such a beautiful big heart that perfectly matched Becca’s. Seeing them become a family and Becca finally getting the mother she always wished for was so incredibly heartwarming. These 3 had my heart!

The found family in this series is top tier. I loved how everyone was scheming to get Bowie & Poppy together 😂 It was nice seeing Poppy fit in so well with the girl and loved all the group chat shenanigans between all of them.

JF, Sam & Lily were amazing! All the audiobooks in this series so far have been incredible but this one might just be my favourite 🤍

Thank you as always to MLA for the ALC ✨

I very strongly did not like this. I only finished it because I wanted to see if I’d be right about the gender of the baby (which I was) and then at that point I was about 80% through, so I pushed to finish.

I haven’t read any other books in the series, so I didn’t really get all the side character dynamics and wasn’t invested in them at all.

My main issue was that all of the characters read like they were in high school. There was a lot of blushing crushes, girl group hangouts, and cringey talk between the guys. None of the emotional aspects of this were handled with any depth. None of the characters had any real redeeming qualities for me. I was thoroughly annoyed by the writing the entire time. It read like a 2015 Wattpad book, in a very negative way.

Other book friends really liked this, which honestly great for you. I could not get past the characterization, dialogue, or lack of emotional depth.

I cannot stress enough how much I love this series by Willow!

I have been dying for Bowie's story since book 1 - and it did not disappoint! The chemistry between him and Poppy was soo good. I loved the character growth of Bowie in this one. He starts off SO closed off, jaded, grumpy, etc at the start of this story (with everyone except for Becca) so watching him open up was so beautiful to see. I also loved the relationship between Poppy and Becca. Becca was such a bright light in this story and I found myself smiling every time she was on the page. She really brought such a lightness into the story, that did have some tough moments. Poppy matched her energy and the 2 of them are exactly what Bowie needed in his life. They really are the sweetest little family.

What you'll find in this one:
- found family
- disability rep (Down Syndrome)
- single dad
- football romance
- one night stand
- surprise pregnancy

Content warnings:
- death of a parent
- abusive parent (past)
- mentions of alcohol abuse
- parental abandonment

Thank you so much Willow for an early copy of this book! All opinions are my own.

Book 4 in the Single Dad Playbook series is a friends to lovers romance starring Bowie Fox, linebacker on the Colorado Mustangs, and Poppy Keane, the woman who works at the school in town for special needs kids. Poppy meets Bowie's daughter Becca, who has Down Syndrome, first. She immediately falls in love with Becca, and her affection is returned by Becca in spades. Bowie is a tougher nut to crack. He can't deny his attraction to Poppy, but he's been burned by love and not open to going through that kind of pain again.

Much to Bowie's chagrin, Poppy keeps popping up everywhere Bowie is - Becca's school, the coffee shop he hangs out with, she becomes friends with the single dad wives and girlfriends - he can't escape her. They spend one night together, and Poppy ends up pregnant. Accidental pregnancy is not a favorite trop of mine, but it worked in this story. I fully expected Bowie's reaction to be something it wasn't, and I was pleasantly surprised.

Poppy and Becca were so great together. Becca was such a wonderful character, so full of love and life. She adored Poppy and always wanted to be around her. Poppy was so kind and caring with Becca. I loved their dynamic. Bowie was a tougher character to love, for about 50% of the book. Once he finally let his walls down, I liked him much more. He had a tougher background, with an alcoholic father who was dying. I empathized with him, but didn't love him as much as Rhodes or Henley, who is still my favorite!

This was overall a solid book. I am so excited about Penn's book, and I really hope that's not the end of the series. This is a really good one.
