Colonel Mateo Larra is gone, whisked away by the Kin. With only the hope of his superior’s safe return, Lieutenant Colonel Hanif Najm is granted temporary charge of Joint Base Sagittarius Arch—and all the challenges that come with command.
Kin constructs continue sneaking past sensors, wreaking havoc on the SATO diplomatic conference. Fear and dissent only play into the League of Sol’s plans to stall intergalactic trade talks and create chaos following an alien leader’s kidnapping. Repeated operational disruptions generate a constant juggling act for the bereaved XO.
But the mission must go on.
Colonel Larra is still out there—somewhere—working behind the scenes to broker a lasting peace for Sextens B. But hope falters when unexpected truths emerge. Faced with undeniable evidence of their past, the Kin will stop at nothing to keep the hive mind intact. Now the thinly stretched Coalition must gear up for war.
I have read a lot of these books and don’t mind the religious bent. I especially like the fact that all Abrahamic religions get along as well as others. It is what should happen. What I disagree with is the confusion between statist and socialism, plus the fact that it only sees Republicans as worthy. That’s wrong. If you strive and do make the world better than you left it, you are worthy also. That is why I haven’t given it more stars. The author needs to broaden the definition of those who make humanity better.
Totally enjoying this series. The stories are interesting enough to have kept me engaged and reading on to see what will happen on each following chapter.
