Krystal Ball is a bubbly almost 10 year old girl who just happens to be a fortune teller. She gets visions and has prophetic dreams, but the dreams she's had lately have been nightmares, and she isn't sure how to interpret them.
I thought this was a fun book for the 6 to 8 age group it is intended for. Krystal wants to fit in with the other kids, but she is definitely a unique little girl, and I'm glad to see that.
I'm giving this book 4/5 stars, and recommend it to anyone with a child who is into fun chapter books.
I received a copy of this book free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
Krystal Ball is a soon to be ten year old who has a secret only a few know....she has vision of the future. When she sees bad things in store for her birthday party, she panics! What's a girl to do?
This was a cute read that I think 3rd-4th graders would like. The main character is very bubbly and the idea of super powers is usually a good draw for all kids. It was very girly though- Krystal is very concerned about her outfits throughout the story and doesn't like her hair because it is curly. This last part is kind of glossed over, but I'm guessing it is meant to show that all girls have some insecurities. Would have been a nice touch to show Krystal loving her hair though. Still- cute read. I just got it in my library so I'm interested to see what my kids think.
