I've been working my way through this series primarily because I enjoy the art style but the last couple of volumes have done a lot more work to establish the characters and a reason to get invested in what's happening. Getting a glimpse of the world before the pulse and actually seeing how things changed was interesting, although it feels like the stuff from before the pulse should have been in full colour, since my understanding is that part of the conceite for this story is that we're actually seeing a fully colourised story but the world itself is just mostly monochrome.
The panels flowed much better this time around too, made it much easier to tell what was happening in the action sequences.
ugh what a heartwrenching and bittersweet volume. the fights were EPIC and we get to see avidia kick it up a notch as he rushes desperately to save chie. arnoy's betrayal and chie's transformation were crazy....I was so happy to see her confront ms. kagami in the cathartic final pages. can't believe next volume is the last!!!

Loved the use of colour throughout this volume especially with Chie being taken in by the colour and the whole few pages of the volume having the stunning displays throughout the whole part of Chie flying once taken in by colour.

I loved getting the backstory and Chei's chromo-god design. I have a few theories as to why some things happened but I'm not sure they're going to be explained in the next book.
