This is a book well-deserved for teens to read! We do not realize the peer pressure we have to face even as Christians and abiding to our beliefs, still was tempted to engage in sexual behaviors. Perry did not want to remain a virgin once he was turning 18, and wanted to spend it with his girlfriend of two years. She refused due to her beliefs, but once she thought Perry cheated on her with another attractive teen girl, lead her to sin. I was amazed that since she was so hard on Perry, to give in to sin with another man who did not give a hoot, only wanted the goodies. Some girls give into the bad boys, why?

This was an inspiring read to stick to your beliefs, since Perry watched his homeboys suffer from their consequences from engaging into sexual behaviors. One friend, has herpes, and the other friend got a female pregnant, where they had to face a decision of what to do with the unwanted pregnancy.

Ready to read the next one in the series. It encourages me as an author to write these types of books for our young generation, without explicit graphic scenes and profane language.

It was very good. Very relatable to high school. Perry is the most wanted football player all over the nation for his position and he also is top of his class in academics. He and his girlfriend have been dating for three years and have kept their relationship pure. Perry is the only player on his team with his virginity and feels ashamed of that so he begs his girlfriend but she stays strong in her faith and keeps her value. Perry breaks up with her because she wasn't satisfying him in the way he wanted. Eventually perry almost gives it up to a random girl at a party until his ex girlfriend catches him, she runs off crying and perry could see the hurt in her eyes so he quickly left to chase after her. Meanwhile Perry's parents are going through an affair in which Perry walked in in his dad cheating on his mother. So what everybody sees to be a Godly and safe home is a disaster for Perry until at the end everything begins to transform better than ever before!

This book is called Prime Choice (Perry Skky Jr., #1). The book was written by Stephanie Perry Moore and it was published in July 1, 2007. I really like this book because it make you visualize whats going on in our lives as teenagers. Its explains how hard life can get when we go through so may trials and temptations. The struggle of staying on the right path spiritually when there is so many negative influences like drugs, money, parties, and sex. This book tells whats all going on with our lives in high school. This book is very informative on how things can go wrong in life very quick.
This book is about a teenage African American boy named Perry Skky Jr. He's an all star football player in high school and all people in his school admire and envy him because of popularity. Many coaches from other schools are begging to recruit him. But Perry is having relationship problems with his girlfriend Tori. Apparently, Perry wants to have sex with his girlfriend Tori but Tori wouldn't try it out because of her christian beliefs. This frustrates Perry more because he wants to try out things that are tempting. His two best friends Damarius and Cole are also influencing him to make bad decisions. Perry struggles to keep his trouble making friend Damarious out of trouble. Perry is trying to go the right path but so many temptations are pulling him back from making the right choices.
What I like about the book is the drama. The drama is very interesting in the story and its very attention grabbing. The plot of the story is also great. There were also some character development in the story including one of the characters Perry. But it is a little boring when you read the middle part of the book so just keep reading and it will be interesting again.
You must try to read this book because this book is very good and it will teach you some life lessons.

The book that I have selected to read is a series called, “Prime Choice”, the Perry Skky Jr. series. The author of this book is a lady by the name of Stephanie Perry Moore. Stephanie was born in the state of South Carolina and was raised at an early age in the state of Virginia. She goes from church to church to visit the youth children to read them some of the series she made. She is currently married to former Georgia Tech athlete Derrick Moore.
Perry Skky had plenty of issues that he had to deal with.. After his recent problems with his school grades, Perry has just came back from his leg injury. With the season coming up he was scared not knowing how he was going to handle the situation. He was also stressed about the problems that him and his girlfriend were having. He was also dealing with peer pressure with having sex with his girlfriend. He was a good christian boy and she was a good christian girl but he was ready to move faster than her. He continued to get teased by his friends about being a virgin but still showed them who he was on the football field.
The purpose of the book was to tell young student athletes that school comes first. You shouldn’t let anybody talk you into doing something you do not want to do. When you are in school focus just on that and let everything else fall into place.
This book is a great one to read. I can relate because this was written specifically for people my age. I also have a couple friends that are not good with handling that type of peer pressure. Me, on the other hand, can handle these type of situations very well because I am my own person and I am very strong minded. This just helps me keep my head on right for the bright future that I have coming to me.
I would recommend this book for all student athletes. The reason I would recommend it is because you never know what can happen when dealing with peer pressure, school comes first. It proves just how much more important you should keep your head on straight if you are an athlete because people may try to use you into doing things. When thinking of doing bad decisions, ask yourself how that would affect your future.

Perry Skky, Jr. is a very talented high school football player, and he's being recruited by the best colleges. He's an A student and a popular guy in school. It seems a lot of girls want him, but he's not like his player friends, Damarius & Cole. Perry's heart belongs to one girl, and that's Tori. He desires to share all of himself with her, but Tori's Christian beliefs keep him from getting what he wants. Being a Christian himself, Tori's decision is the right choice for both of them, but Perry's relationship with the Lord is a bit off track, so he doesn't always have God's will in mind. He does, however, get to where honoring God becomes his top priority... eventually, that is.
I don't know the first thing about football, so the many chapters about college recruiting and football games weren't interesting. But that's just me. However, Stephanie Perry Moore has enough knowledge about football to hold the attention of every reader who has an interest in this sport.
Perry's relationships with his family, his boys (their situations helped him to start appreciating being abstinent), and the opposite sex (quite a bit of drama there) - that is what kept me turning the pages. Perry rededicates his life to God during the story, getting his walk with the Lord back on track. He intends to put God first in all that he does, and by the end of the story he is beginning a relationship with a girl who feels as strongly about pleasing God as he does.
After reading this first book in the Perry Skky, Jr. Series, I did not hesitate to purchase Book 2 - Pressing Hard. I'm interested in finding out how well Perry resists temptation with his new girlfriend; someone he became attracted to when he claimed he was in love with Tori.
I recommend this novel to teens and adults who love to read YA fiction. And as for young people who are reluctant readers, this could be the one that ignites a passion for reading.

The book "Prime choice" was not a good book. I didn't like how the story was set up. It's about a boy who is named Perry and he is a football star and a scholar. Every collage wanted him. He was the main character so I was suppose to be in his side the whole story. To me he was just ungrateful. He had a cute loyal girlfriend who he cheated on multiple times because he wanted sex. He had great football team but he thought he was the team. I just didn't like the character. Even as his friends got fought up in stupid things like STD's and bad grades he somehow drags himself into it.

Another thing I didn't like was the lack of action. The most action in the book is when he hurts his leg. He has an overprotective mom and his dad is just mean. This was a horrible book. Someone had an abortion because of their stupid mistake. Then no matter what's going on Perry complained about the littlest things. It wasn't the complaining that annoyed me it was more of how he thought nothing was hi fault until he lost something. I can't stand people like this. He was always trying to fight people and was rarely friends with his closest friends.

I wouldn't recommend this book to any one. It's terrible and just sends a bad message. It's saying if things don't go your way then complain and then try to fix it. He fought people who were smaller than him but never he same size. He was a punk in my eyes. He had tons of collage offers but couldn't make up his mind. So instead of doing some research he just complained ! Then he meets a girl named Savoy and he is just ready to leave his girlfriend who he has been with for 2 years. Another thing is he says he wants to please God but the whole time he is just trying to have sex. I know for a fact that God does not approve of havering sex and your not married. This was a bad book. Don't waste your money one it.

Perry Skyy Jr is the most popular kid in his class. He is the best football player in the state. The top college’s recruiters are scrambling to get him on their team. This book is one of my favorite books because of the lessons it shows you. In the book, Perry Skky Jr. is a teenage boy who is an A student, he's the star of the football team and he believes deeply in God.

He has a deep desire to have sex but he has his faith in God and not trying to disobey his laws. He is torn between his faith in God and his desire for what he wants. Like him his girlfriend, Tori has that same faith in God and want to wait until marriage to lose her virginity. She believes that Perry understands which he does until she ends up disobeying God. Turinig her back in her promise.

He realizes that he needs to stay to his faith and not lose control. He is the reason why I like this book because he reminds his situation to mine. He wants to stay to his faith to God. And I believe in the same thing. Not a lot of teenagers would believe that a football player can be like this type of guy.

I would love to have a guy like this in my life because he respects people's faith and decisions. He is the type of guy that I believe every guy should be like. I love the character Perry Skky Jr. because he is the guy you would want as a friend.

Think is GOOD! I enjoyed every minute of the book, it has so many things that goes on at once and for some reason I liked that. I liked it more because it gives you a lesson to learn from, like he talks about God and says things that get you think and there are a lot of shocks in the book. The way the aurthor wrote this book is by telling you about a part and keeps you curious about it so that you would want to read more into the book. It's a series so, this is the first book and it's about how he want to give into his desires with his girlfriend Tori, that he has been with for 2 years now (almost three) and he think it's time. Or is it? Theres always something that keep him from doing it. There is a lot going on especially that it's his senior year and he want to do things he never done before, being a football star at his school everybody knows him. More problems accure when his friend got caught up into something and wants to help him. Will he?

Recruited by top colleges, high school senior and football star Perry Skky Jr. is on top of the world. Except for one thing: he is still a virgin. He turns to the Lord for guidance. This is a quick read-- not my style, pretty predictable, but it wasn't a slow read. Perry believes in God and prays, but hasn't fully committed to a Christian life (i.e. no sex before marriage). His friends who are sexually active suffer consequences (gonorrhea, herpes and pregnancy for pete's sake!), so it's total propaganda. According to reviews on Amazon, teens seem to like it, so I wouldn't just write it off.
Useful quote:
"I prayed to God: 'Lord, this is hard. As I smell my girlfriend's sweet perfume, I want something from her that You tell me I shouldn't have now. I'm struggling and really need You to help me keep my feelings checked.'" (p. 5)

Perry Skky Jr. is in his last year in high school. He’s the star receiver on his football team, the envy of all of his friends, the top college recruiters are scrambling to get him on their team and, most definitely, a virgin. He is working on his relationship with God, but the peer pressure and all that life throws at him is making him question his belief and his choices.

This is a Christian, young adult fiction novel and it pleases me to see a strong adolescent male character who learns from his mistakes and tries to choose the right path. The characters are well developed and believable and Ms. Moore’s story is a pleasure to read. I believe that young adults as well as “older” adults will enjoy this coming of age novel.

This book shows alot. This actually reminds me of the health ed class that we have at school because it talks about the things that teenagers go through. The things I'm talking about are pure pressure, sports and life decisions. In this book Perry Sky Jr is in high school and he is the big man on campus that everyone wants to be. He is the best football player in the state,he has wonderful grades and is doing right by God. But when Perry's feels him and girlfriend Tori are ready for sex he is not following his christian beliefs. I'm not telling the story by saying but i feel that if you are a christian you will wait until you are married. But does Perry feel that way?

I read the book Prime Choice by Stephanie Perry Moore. The main characters in this book are Perry Skky, Tori, Demarius, Justin, and Cole. The setting of the book is a town in Georgia. This book is about a boy being a great basketball player. He is now in the 12th grade and just like everyone else around his age, he is going through some things. I really like this book, because it fits into the genres of books that I like reading. All the drama that goes on between Perry, his family, and his friends makes the book even more interesting. I recommend this book for anyone that likes teen fiction and drama, because Prime choice is full of it. I rate this book a 4 out of 5.

The theme of this story is trust God with anything that life throws at you.The book focuses on how the choices you make can have an affect on you. This book uses real life sistutaions, and real life events to open the eyes of the reader. I think that this book opens the eyes its readers who make careless mistakes. High school romance, decisions to have sex for the first time or consequences of being sexually active at a young age, football, scholarships, SEC Football, pressures of being in a relationship, a religious read, and setting goals/dreams.

Recommend for 8th-10th grade boys, students involved in youth groups or FCA, discussion read for a coach or father, and a read for girls to learn more about boys and relationships.
