This is a good introductory book on discussing and planning finances. If you already have a good handle on finances and investment this may be too basic for your needs. But for those looking to broach financial discussion with a partner it gives some good places to start.

I’m a fan of Jason and his podcast, Trading Secrets, which led me to his book (more out of support than necessity).

I’m not new to personal finance and my husband and I have a healthy relationship surrounding money management. With that, I think this book would be great for couples starting out or those who are financial novices. I will definitely keep it on our book shelf to share with others or even as a tool as we educate our children on money management.

As for the action steps in each chapter, even for me, I think these were fun exercises to make sure everything is right and tight. Money management is a constantly active exercise and revisiting books such as these from time to time keeps things top of my which is so important!

Overall, great book concept. Happy to support J!

I feel like most people, I found Jason on The Bachelor but have continued to follow and even became a listener of his podcast. I think this book was fantastic coming from someone who has dated/lived with a few partners with 100% opposite financial literacy and goals. I bought this back when I was living with one of those partners and just now finished it. After being in that whole experience, I think it would be a fantastic book to apply to your financial relationship with your partner; even if you are not sharing expenses completely. Being on the same page is soooo helpful. This is a fantastic book and I would recommend to anyone taking those next steps with their partners.

Really a 4.5⭐, rounded up.
This was all basic information, but presented well. I like how he tied it to communicating all of it with a partner and how to talk through the material.

This would be a great book for either someone who's family never talked about money to get a basic grasp on how to actually talk about it without being defensive, or for a couple who is just on the stages that they're getting to the point they talk about money.

This book nicely blends finance advice with pop culture tidbits. While Jason Tartick discusses the importance of these 8 financial topics in relationships, they're really just good pieces of information that everyone should know about their own finances. If you are a fan of Tartick's, I recommend the audiobook since he is the narrator!

Overall it was a good refresher of tasks and exercises to do to check your financial health as a couple. I would argue a lot was common sense but I know that is relative. Honestly, it was a little bit of a confidence boost that I am not that bad. Definitely has some exercises I’d like to revisit and do.

Good financial advice for people of all ages and walks of life, but particularly young couples. The advice is clear and backed up by research. Humorous anecdotes from the author’s own life and easy to understand analogies help make the material more interesting for the reader.

Solid book for anyone who is in a marriage or getting into a serious relationship, and isn't sure how to approach the financial conversations that need to be had. He goes over a number of different topics that you NEED to be talking about and explains why. Worth grabbing.

As a beginner in understanding finances but has automatically contributed to a 401k or Roth “just because” this was very helpful. I also love the approach in how it can help navigate financial conversations with a partner.

I don't really review non-fiction, but I do think this is a great book to help get on track with financial goals and how to open that door with your partner. Also having Jason narrate it definitely helps!

Some of the financial advice felt kind of basic to me but I suppose it depends on where one is at in their journey in life. Some details were informative also.

Physical read 📖 Got a few good tips and thoughts out of this. Not bad for a non fiction book about money.

It was ok. If you have never had the walk with your S/O then it is a good starting point.
