HOSTILE TAKEOVER: BOOK ELEVEN IN THE MAD MICK SERIES by Franklin Horton is full of action, suspense, mind-blowing twists, at times you'll find yourself laughing, while other times you'll feel sad for the loss the characters go through trying to save what's left of the U.S. after terrorist attacks have taken out the infrastructure and the collapse of the U.S. government.
Franklin Horton has written another well written book in this series, with characters of government contractsor specializing in wetwork that are well defined and they will keep you on your toes throughout the book hoping they will survive the challenges thrown their way has they try to restore the government back to something that might pull the country back from the pre-industrial stage they are right now.

I laughed, I cried, I sipped my Bojangles tea... and that was just while reading reading Horton's plans for the rest of the summer.
Seriously, I consumed this in no time and I'm still emotionally raw from the last few chapters. I need time to digest it all. What I can say is that the action is non-stop, the writing is superb, and the characters are like old friends. If this is a goodbye to Mick until his prequels come out then I have to say it will be a bittersweet but appropriate parting.
Oh, and the ice cream loving president? What a great touch.

That's it!
I absolutely loved this series. Every book took me for an adventure that I didn't want to end. The series started with a 'sign' and ended with one. Looking forward to Franklin Horton's next book.

Need more!
As usual, Conner and company are in the thick of things. Tons and tons of action, great plot, and absolutely fabulous characters. A few heart rendering parts but overall an excellent book.

Much Faster Pace, Couldn't Put It Down
I must admit that I've had my doubts that the author could keep the storyline interesting, but he has managed it and left me wanting more. While the last several books in this series were a little slower, with the group relocating and figuring out what to do next, this book starts out at a fast jog and quickly turns into a full sprint.
Still not sure how I feel about the ending, though. I'm hoping that the author has more planned for this series and isn't going to leave it at that, especially considering the tie-ins with the Borrowed World series. Plus, Connor Maguire never backs down from a fight.
The bottom line is that if you enjoyed the earlier books in this series, you'll definitely enjoy this one.

Franklin is a master.
This series is non stop series that draws the reader in. Another one of his series you should read is The Borrowed World. At one point both series come together. I always wait with anticipation to see what happens with the Mad Mick, Ricardo, and the rest of the family. I only hope what.Franklim has built in this world never happens. Unfortunately there is a chance it could. This series is a must read

Wow. Another incredible adventure for Connor and the gang. Action packed with unexpected twists and turns. Word to the wise... Don't stand in front of the door when you unlock it. Ella gets a high five.

Next One??
I have blazed through all 11 books of this series and truly hope there is another several more to come. I loved the characters. I hope in the Ragus gets a break in his luck. Really enjoyable. Book 12 hurry up!! Thank you Franklin, I really enjoyed all the books thus far.

Another great one for Horton!
I've read every book in this series, and enjoyed each and every one of them! If this is the end of the series, I will miss the exploits of Connor, Barb, Ricardo, and the rest of the characters that made this series fabulous! If it's not the end, then I await to be thrilled by "Jewell Ridge (Cyprus).

Always moving fast with interesting characters. I absolutly know who Demo Dick is. If you want to know visit Fort Pierce, Fl.

Fantastic
This MM story moves like something out of a John Wick movie, all action, blood, and guts. I’m so glad I started reading Franklin Horton. He’s definitely one of my favorite authors. Make him one of yours too. You will not be disappointed.

Good book...I hope it is not the last. The Mad Mick is too fine a character to just retire. Hopefully Mr. Horton is working on the next in this great series. Bravo.

I absolutely love the Mad Mick series, Franklin Horton does a fabulous job with the stories and intertwining them into a powerful and exciting adventure. It is one of the few books where I find myself laughing out loud every 3 or 4 pages because of some smartass or sarcastic remark made by one of characters. Franklin Horton must be a smartass and sarcastic in real life to be able to come up with some of the remarks. This story revolves around Mad Mick and his friends and family finding shelter in the mountains of West Virginia. They are then sent on a mission to bring back Ella Ford (you need to check out the real Ella Fords, one is a writer and the other an actor), who Demo Dick thinks can help bring America from the brink. It starts out well but ends in the Team getting captured and then being presented to one of their enemies. Of course they escape and then go to meet the President, who turns out to be an imposter. The Chinese end up attacking the West Virginia compound, during the battle the Team loses a number of members and a number of others are severely wounded. Mick is one of those wounded, when he wakes the Team has decided to leave America and move to Israel and start over. When Mick wakes up in Israel, he finds that Ricardo and his Team have purchased property in Cyprus to restart their company. The benefit is that this can be the end of the story or the start of another in Europe. Can't wait to find out.

Have you ever read a book and there is a side character that you just fell in love with? Well that’s what happened to me when I read Franklin Horton’s Locker Nine series. A quick blurb about a guy named Conner his witty daughter Barb and a singular adventure that lasts one moment in L9. He stole my heart and I just went on with the L9 series. I loved Mr. Hortons writing style, wit and ability to not shy away from the truth of humanity as a whole but the violence that surrounds us daily and frankly the idiocy that we willingly choke down from both our local and federal government.
Franklin Horton isn’t afraid to take you on a truthful “what if” adventure. As you all know I’m a no spoiler gal so my review for these Mad Mick books will all be the same. I was lucky that I discovered them just now so I was able to read the first 11 back to back and now I’m like most fans sitting and waiting for the next adventure.
I will say this is an in your face series. There is violence but it’s all to be expected. There is no food - people are going to come for your food. You get it. I highly recommend the entire series.

The Mad Mick and crew are on a new mission to save the United States. They are sent to find someone whom the country knows and can respect, which ends up being a country music artist living in Nashville, Tennessee. A straightforward mission turns into an unexpected adventure with disastrous results.
I enjoyed hearing about Nashville and the Tennessee cities they passed through on their travels, as I am familiar with them. I think this is the last book in the Mad Mick series, and I am glad. I have enjoyed Mad Mick and his family, but I am over reading about the Chinese takeover. This book has an unexpected event that occurs, which was very sad, but the ending was inevitable and hopeful.

This book is confusing, introducing several new characters and plot lines that appear to have come out of left field and then felt rushed to close out the book /series? All the others ended with some cliff hangers or an agenda that still needed finished, this one did not. If this is the last of the series, it’s a bit of a disappointment. Hopefully I’m wrong as I thoroughly enjoyed the entire series and flew through the audiobooks. I will definitely be giving other series by Horton a listen!

How many shoot 'em up books have characters that become like family? Or you feel like a part of their family? The story lines are always exciting with unexpected events with unpredictable outcomes. Characters are all colorful and fully developed. I've read all 11 and they are my guilty pleasure. I especially love the critically dangerous situations and reading about how they are concluded when it seems there is no way out.

Loved it. I can't help but thinking this book might be prophetic in a way with the state of our great county. The Mad Mick pushed out by the Chinese, willing to let them have America. An America no longer worth fighting for for. Damn sad thought. Great book, great characters, and man did Ragus get the short end of the stick.

Well, I have loved every page of every book! BUT, leaving us (American Warriors) hanging as if we would EVER abandon our Country kinda ticks me off! Mr. Horton, I hope you’re well on your way into completing book 12 where every American comes out and kicks butt! Not cool sir to stop with us turning tail like that!

Too good to put down!
I read all 11 books in less than a month. A great read! I've on!y written 1 other review usually a star rating. The characters are so real when reading g about them. Mr Horton weaves a good tale. I love to read. I feel strange if I dont get to read everyday. I'll definitely read more of his books!

Great!
This 11th book was really great. It even had a good ending, though parts of the story were quite sad. As with previous Mad Mick books, this one had many, many annoying typos, missing words, duplicate words, misused words, etc. It could definitely benefit from a good editing.

Best series out of 100's I've read
I've read lots of good series but this one is exceptional! I really hope for more more! Even another series that follows Barb and Ragus, would be interesting. I loved the series that ran parallel to this one as well. Can't get enough of these.

Great addition to a great series
Getting each new addition to the Mad Mick Series is always a great experience and Hostile Takeover is no exception. Although there are some sad parts of the story it still is an amazing book. Please keep the Mad Mick books coming!!

Terrific mad max saga
Reviews a lot about how are Nation news today And I understand moving to Cyprus instead of sticking around for the Dreadful fall of the USA. On the side note I hope trump makes a difference I don't care what any of these readers think about that

100% amazing
Just like every book in this series, or ever written by Franklin Horton, great and amazing, doesn't describe the journey it takes you on. If this is it, I'm sad. If there is more.. I'm excited.

Another Horton thriller keeping me enthralled and skipping work to keep reading. He is a very creative thinker and writer, memorable characters, believable scenarios. You can't go wrong with a Horton book.

While not quite on par with the previous 10 installments of The Mad Mick, still better than most post apocalyptic efforts. Conner's sense of humor cracks me up. Worth the read, but damn, I hate waiting for #12!

Love Mad Mick
I don't want it to end. Such great characters. Such an adventure. Wow. Some gruesome detail in just the right way. A merry band of Assassin's. Connor being the most charismatic. I love them all. Thanks for that. Great books. I am recommending them to everyone!!
