Merin, the only living male Arcana Seer, has always known he was different. Raised in the foster care system, he found solace in the woods and a strange connection to the world beyond the veil. But when a chance encounter with the enigmatic Margareth reveals his true identity, Merin is thrust into a world of magic, prophecy, and danger.
Roman, a half-fae, half-bear shifter, knows what it means to be an outsider. Exiled from his pack and wandering alone, he found purpose as the Seelie Court's emissary in the mortal realm. But when he meets Merin, a spark ignites—a recognition of shared pain and longing that could turn the tide of destiny.
As an ancient evil stirs in the heart of the Unseelie Court, Merin and Roman find themselves on a collision course with a fate that could destroy everything they hold dear. To unravel the secrets of Merin's past and unlock the power within him, they'll have to learn to trust each other—and the love that burns between them.
But the road ahead is dark and twisted, and the forces arrayed against them are as cunning as they are cruel. With the help of unexpected allies and the strength of the bonds they forge, Merin and Roman must race against time to uncover the truth—and stop the rise of a darkness that threatens to consume the world.
In this epic conclusion to the Willowbrook series, secrets will be revealed, hearts will be tested, and the power of love will be the only light in the shadow of eternal night.
From the moment I finished Enchanted I wanted to know Merin and Roman's story. Through all the other stories, their sly glances and quiet whisperings, you knew they were meant to be, and finally we get their story. Merin was special, the only living male seer, but what was his origins. Living in foster care he did not know much but as the story develops we learn more about him. What we do know is that he has a big heart, he can do amazing things with his magic and he is totally head of heels in love with Roman. Roman was half fae and bear shifter, shunned by his bear family when his fae side started to manifest, he needed someone to love and be loved and Merin was his man. As we read a lot about this couple in the other books, reading this was like meeting up with old friends. The camaraderie they had with the others, only would happen with a group of friends who loved and respected each other. When these two finally admitted what us readers knew from the start, I was with Dominic and cheered. It was good to meet up with the rest of the crew and seeing what was happening in their lives. This book was so much action packed then the others and by the end I felt as I had run a marathon. Following them into battle fearing all was lost had me turning my kindle pages like a women possessed wanting to know if they could defeat the evil entity that was trying to take over the world. This action filled pages made it a fast paced book and I had to make sure I finished it before I turned in for the night as I knew I would not sleep until I finished it. As like the other stories it is written from both Merin and Roman's point of view and there was no confusion who story was being told. There are some heartfelt moments in this book broken up with some funny one liners thanks mainly to Valen. I am sad to see this series end, but I was glad to read all about these brave character who went out to battle evil. Now I only hope that there is a Steve and Larry story out there as I would love to know their history. If you are looking for a good v evil action packed series then this is the series for you. A good story and a great ending for this series
Well, the war is finally over with the ultimate enemy finally defeated. As usual for this series, this book had some serious writing issues. I'm too tired to name them this time around though.
