Prim and proper socialite? Check.
Handsome, wealthy groom? Check.
Storybook wedding shower? Check…?

Except that I found my fiancé in a closet canoodling with the caterer. And now all of Manhattan's glitterati—my guests—are witness to my humiliation.
I've always strived to be the perfect, well-behaved daughter my parents raised. I never draw too much attention, I'm agreeable, and above all, I'm going to fulfill the Greene family tradition of getting married before the age of twenty-seven.
The problem: I don't want to spend my life on country club autopilot, playing the role of a cookie-cutter wife with the man my parents arranged for me to marry.

But it's fine! I’m fine. My wedding day will bring me a fifty-million dollar trust. The silver lining on my unhappily-ever-after.

That was my plan.

Until Matthew Hudson, a dreamy philanthropic entrepreneur and my long-time office crush, declares in front of everyone that he loves me and offers to marry me instead.

Our agreement is simple. Convince my parents that we're in love, that Matthew is fit for high society, and tie the knot. I'll get access to my trust, he'll get half the money, and then we'll get a quick divorce. Easy Peasy.

However, my parents have a major business deal riding on the marriage they arranged for me. And all of this pretending that Matthew and I are in love might not be so pretend after all…

4.5 ★ - this book is such a gem!!

- fake dating
- forced proximity
- coworkers
- only one bed
- age gap (she’s 26, he’s 36)

molly, billionaire heiress, needs a husband before she’s 27 to access her trust, but the man her parents set her up with is truly the worst 🥱 so her hot, quiet, nerdy coworker who she may or may not have a crush on, swoops in to save the day. matthew & molly then have to spend two weeks on a pre-marriage retreat to make sure their relationship (who nobody knows is fake, oop!) is the real deal 💍

i really loved this one from start to finish! it gave me all the cute, silly, twirling my hair feelings that come with fake dating, while also having such real and relatable characters who communicate !!! i loved the open discussions of anxiety and mental health. the tension and development was soo good, and also!!! they are hot together!!! so hot!!!!

MCs:
- Matthew, 36
- Molly, 26

Book info:
- No cheating, owd, third act breakup
- Coworkers/Friends-to-lovers
- Fake dating
- Male infertility
- Age gap
- Forced proximity
- One bed
- Non-virgin MCs (both celibate for years)
- HEA

Notes:
◾OMD. Molly was engaged to someone, but they never really had a relationship; it was merely for their family reputation and business partnership.
◾HEA. They got married and decided to be cat parents in the meantime. Though they're both open to discussing adoption in the future.
◾He took her surname when they got married.
◾They've been working together for the last three years, and both are secretly crushing on one another.

Tbh, the plot was intriguing. An heiress fake-dating someone to have access to her inheritance to build her dream inn and to step away from her controlling parents. Typically, the MMCs are the wealthy ones needing a fake someone, but that's not the case here. Anyway, though the plot isn't something new, I was still looking forward to it. Yet, the book was so underwhelming; it could be a me case, but that's how I honestly felt.

The story-telling didn't appeal to me. The MCs chemistry is nowhere to be found; even the sexual tension isn't palpable. It's actually confusing because this is steaaaamy and there are a lot of explicit scenes here, yet I didn't feel anything reading those. 😐

Nothing really happened in the first half of the book, but I persevered for some reason. The second eventually picked up and improved a bit. But the whole story still fell flat and was so dragging. I hoped for it to get better eventually, but it didn't happen. I was tempted to DNF this on multiple occasions, but I'm so invested in how this would pan out.

I remember I DNF the first book in this series. Like my issue here, I didn't feel the chemistry in the MCs there either. I can't connect with them, but I did try to get through to them.

Maybe I'm the problem, and other readers might find this up their alley. Or maybe these authors books aren't really for me. 🤷‍♀️

this book was everything I wanted and more. I absolutely love kels & denise stone’s writing style, it is so fun while also bringing attention to the deeper aspects of the character’s story. on cloud nine definitely stole my heart & became my favorite of their books!

molly is the definition of a mirrorball girl!! i connected to her immediately and found myself relating to all the little pieces of her character. i loved seeing her journey throughout this book, kels & denise did a fantastic job of showing us how she evolved and truly got in touch with herself without the people pleasing tendencies she was used to. i love how real and genuine her character was, it made reading her story so special.

matthew, oh my goodness he was phenomenal. they truly crafted a perfect book boyfriend, i loved how he was so honest, caring, loyal, humble, kind, and loving. there were so many components of his character that made him remarkable, it was an absolute delight. his infertility issues were handled with such a gentle care, i applaud kels & denise for being able to display such a hardship in a wonderful and enlightening way.

i love how these two paired together brought out the best parts of each other and were able to grow & create this genuine relationship built on trust and care. they are adorable together & knew exactly what the other needed, which was so beautiful! this book has so many little details that made it a true five star read for me.

fake dating + marriage of conveniences get me giddy & this was no exception!!

on cloud nine follows matthew & molly as they have to fake date and (hopefully get married, if her awful parents approve) so she can get access to her trust. they set out to her family’s luxury resort to do couple’s activities and prove to her parents that they’re a perfect love match.

this book was so much fun. there’s tension, healthy communication, and my favorite: no third act breakup. their small crushes and friendship turned into something more was such a ride to read. matthew was absolutely flawless and I’ll hear no criticism on him everrrrrr.

thank you sm to kels & denise for an arc! it’s out tomorrow 💖

thank you to kels & denise for the arc, per usual this was absolutely everything i needed and more!!

I LOVED THIS BOOK.

molly is such an incredibly written and well-rounded character. she was so kind, funny, generous, and inspiring. she is so smart and so lovely and i just want to hug her. her personality/character was so relatable for me!!! i related so strongly to the way she handles conflict, her family struggles, her anxiety, and her insecurities. getting to see her character grow throughout the book, find her voice and do what SHE wants for herself rather than what others want her to do for them, made me so happy. she is genuinely one of the most genuine and realistic fmc's ive read!!! I LOVE HER.

MATTHEW HUDSON!!! what a man. i loved him to death. he is so well written, i LOVE HIM. he is so kind, funny, generous and relatable. his depth was so great, and learning about his past struggles in relationships made my heart hurt for him. i loved seeing his character growth throughout the book and seeing him overcome his insecurities and fears in a relationship, it made me soso happy. he is absolutely, without a doubt, one of the most swoon-worthy men ever written. i adore him, i love him, i want to hug him and hold onto him forever.

molly and matthew's relationship was so lovely. they love and care for each other so deeply, they are SOULMATES!!! i knew it from WUTB. their banter, chemistry, bond, and overall dynamic was perfect. you can tell how infatuated they are with each other. it was so nice to see each of them find someone who understands them, supports them, and stands by them no matter what. the comfort they found in each other to be themselves was soso special. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THEM MY LITTLE ROMANTASY READING BABIES.

the smut in this book was unreal (per usual). K&D know how to write some damn good smut! the tension and chemistry between matly was literally PALPABLE. they explored each other and indulged each other. the way that they embraced themselves and their desires was EVERYTHING to me. GOD. it was so good. i love it i love it i love it.

the writing was so good, the pacing was perfect, and it gets right into the story. i was immediately hooked from the first page, the writing was easy to lose yourself in, and its easy to fall in love with matthew and molly (individually and together). i loved the way that kels & denise handled the age gap in this story, it was acknowledged but not made a focal point of the story or their relationship!!

this is a fake dating, friends to lovers romance, with forced proximity/only one bed, mutual pining, age gap, and a billionaire heiress FMC. filled with spice, love, longing, and lots of laughs!!

this is such a beautiful and lovely and amazing book!!! i cannot recommend the entire perks & benefits series enough. these characters and these couples are so near and dear to my heart, i am so happy to have finally gotten matly's story!!!

please read this!!! I promise you will fall in love!!!!

thank you again to kels & denise for the arc!!! so proud of you both!!!!

On Cloud Nine by Kels & Denise Stone 💖

This book had so much of what I love in a romance. The characters were lovely, the tropes so good, and the way the romance played out had me flying through the pages. Molly has always aimed to be the perfect and pleasing daughter, avoiding unnecessary attention and agreeing to fulfill the tradition of getting married before turning 27. Her family is extremely wealthy and she is engaged to someone purely to please her parents and their business plans. She has a plan though, to get her fifty million dollar trust and avoid her awful fiancé at all costs. Until Matthew, a philanthropic entrepreneur and her long-time office crush, enters the picture and offers to marry her instead. Now all they have to do is convince her parents they are in love and get their approval.

Y'all this was so good. Molly was such a relatable character with her always trying to do whatever she could to please those around her. She's sweet and soft, while also strong willed and stands up for herself when the time comes. I loved seeing her grow into herself and become more comfortable sharing the pieces of herself she kept hidden with Matthew and others. Matthew was an absolute dream. He's a cat dad, does daily crosswords in the newspaper, and just an overall top tier book boyfriend. I love how he encouraged Molly to do what makes her happy.

These two were perfect for each other. They had great communication and the no third act breakup fits them so much. They bring out the best in each other in every way. There are some more serious topics brought up and I really, really appreciate how they were handled. And of course balancing the seriousness with some amazing spice... the painting and snow scenes!! I loved it all.

This is my new favorite of the series. While it is the 3rd book, I think you could read this as a standalone (and then go back and read the other two cause they were so good as well)!

Tropes:
🌹 fake dating

🤍 age gap (10 years)
💵 she’s a billionaire

I wish I had dnfed this book early on. It started out slow but I wanted to give it a chance and get into it. Turns out getting into it made it worse. Here's all of things I didn't like about this book:

1. The characters. If there was one way the lead characters Matthew and Molly were meant for each other, it would be that they were both extremely annoying. Molly had a victim complex and somehow a superiority complex at the same time? On one hand she constantly twisted everyone's words to make everything about herself but she also put herself down repeatedly. Matthew was interesting in the beginning but his overly flattering saccharine dialogues made him annoying.

2. Why is the name of the brands of everything Molly wears mentioned constantly? It’s been established she’s rich, we get it but I don’t need to know the brand and the exact product names of all her clothes, footwear, bags in every chapter.

3. Matthew and Molly constantly over sexualised each other. It was all they thought about like a bunch of preteens going through puberty. There is a thin line between establishing sexual tension between the characters and straight up being creepy. Unfortunately the characters objectified each other so much that it definitely was in the creepy category.

4. Molly is a romance fantasy reader and relates everything Matthew does to romance book hero and it made me cringe.

5. I feel like this book should've been much MUCH shorter. The author didn't need to write down their whole life story. From fake dating to actually dating to both the characters establishing their business, the fight and conflict resolution between Molly and her parents', the proposal, the wedding, the opening of the inn...I feel like I read a trilogy.

I'm actually quite sad I didn't like this because I've read the previous two books in this series and especially loved the last book so it's unfortunate that this ended up being the worst out of the bunch.

This is just bad, it's trying to be something that it isn't.
The writing is mid at best, the core of the story is presented in the first 2 chapters, and it's just stupid, not funny and silly hihi haha stupid, but like really stupid stupid.
Even though we get both POVs, I see no difference between the characters.

I would not recommend this book to my worst enemy, I wouldn't want to see another soul suffer...

here’s my problem with the book.
Okay, that’s not a great way to start a review. Let me rephrase that and start by saying I’ve read the two previous books in the series and have to admit this was probably my least favorite one.

The writing, as always, was good and I’m usually a big fan of Kels’ and Denise’s story telling, only this time it didn’t catch me. Like at all. I had a hard time connecting to the FMC and it made enjoying this book so much more difficult. I didn’t like Molly’s over the top quirkiness and her background made it hard for me to let go of the spoiled rich girl impression. The plot was interesting though and I thought it brought more action to the story.

Everything else though - the MMC, the found family, the self growth, the spice - it was all perfect, in theory. The MMC Matthew is the (hot and older) nerd with a level of understanding and care that makes him one of the most fictional-man-written-by-a-women ever. They communicate openly, trust each other and always stay a team even when life hits them hard, allowing them to have a pure and deep connection. Not only their dreams but also their *cough* fantasies align which leads to a lot of spicy scenes. And in theory that’s all I could ask for. In theory.
Because in reality, the spicy scenes made me cringe, their communication annoyed me a little, I hated how Molly kept naming the brands of her clothes and something vital was missing.

I don’t know what exactly the something is, maybe the FMC or some missing chemistry, all I know is that I didn’t like this book as much as I wanted to. And I really wanted to love this book. 3.8 feels harsh but I couldn’t bring myself to give this a full 4 stars. Maybe that’s just me though?

what an absolute astonishing book 🥹

MATTHEW AND MOLLY !!!!!! these two are literally so endearing and you can’t help but want to give them a smoosh <3

On Cloud Nine is so beautifully written, this age-gap, fake dating, forced proximity, spicy, tension-filled book will have you turning each page giggling and kicking your feet. Molly and Matthew are so endearing and watching their love story play out is a treat. Molly and Matthew are soulmates! and their love story is one for the ages, the characters are divine, the plot is stirring, and the spice is sensational. Matly are the perfect balance and they bring out the absolute best in each other, and this book just makes your heart swell. This is another wonderful Kels and Denise Stone book, and a wonderful addition to the perks and benefits series.

After her 50 million dollar trust, Molly Greene (fantasy lover and billionaire heiress) agrees to marry a man of her parent’s choosing… until she finds him smacking lips with the caterer at their wedding shower. Cue Matthew Hudson (sexy environmentalist and cat daddy extraordinaire… and Molly’s office crush) who jumps in to save the day by professing his deep love for the ex bride-to-be. To prove their relationship is real they have to visit a couples retreat, attend couples classes, and share a bed…

While there are spicy art classes, and fun times in the snow, there is also heavy relatability within the characters. Their struggles are so authentic and were handled with such care and grace. Molly Greene is a mirrorball girlie who feels the pressure to always perform and be on top of her game, she is anxious and struggles with her people-pleasing tendencies, but she is also generous, kind and incredibly caring. Watching her character grow and learn to take the things she wants felt so genuine and it’s so wonderful to read. Matthew Hudson is so passionate, kind, and understanding. Matthew has infertility issues and has been burned before in a previous relationship, and seeing him overcome his insecurities and anxieties was so heartwarming. Seeing these two grow not only as individuals but together is inspiring, there is so much love pouring from these words and it is just such a huge credit to the authors for being able to create these characters and invoke these emotions. This book is so amazing and you will absolutely fall in love when you read it.

another absolutely beautifully written romance book by kels & denise 🥹 I think this is officially my favourite book of theirs!! I love their writing style, it feels like walking on a cloud (pun intended) I’ve been looking forward to Matthew & Molly’s book since ‘Water Under The Bridge’ and it did not dissapoint!!

what I loved most about this book is the RANGE!!! the plot is so cozy and fun with private jets, luxurious resort stays, and family christmas shenanigans, but also covers deeper topics and integrates them seamlessly into the story. the healthy boundaries and open communication between Molly and Matthew was healing a part of me I didn’t even know I needed healed. the mutual pining for each other at the beginning and the love declarations at the end were just PERFECT

Matthew is a green-flag, healthy boundaries, consent KING and treats our Molly like the queen she deserves to be, and later realizes she is. he always had her back and was there for her through all the shit her family put her through. Molly was such a relatable character. she was raised to think that she should only shine to appease others, and not for herself, and Matthew helped her fix that and showed her what true love looks like. I loved loved loved the two of them together 🥹😭

it wasn’t just a beautifully written book, but SO funny too. the banter and the jokes between them??? top tier 👌🏼 also the smut???? 😮‍💨😮‍💨 they really exceeded all of those aspects with this book

I loved this entire book and all the little details in the story made this read so exceptional. I loved all the scenes with lily, avery, luca, nico, and the whole ORO gang. I highly recommend you check out this book and all other books by kels & denise! 🩷

Sometimes I think I’m not a romcom girlie anymore, but then amazing books like this have me changing my mind!

Matthew & Molly have been co-workers and friends for a few years before they suddenly find themselves a situation where they have to fake a relationship of convenience. They have to be more fluent in each other than ever before, and I would have to say they do that PERFECTLY!

Molly is such a relatable heroine, and she has qualities that I believe everyone can relate to in one way or another. Seeing her grow into herself and finally embrace who she really was had me feeling so proud of her.

Matthew is a new book HUSBAND for me. He is literally the definition of “HOW IS HE SO F**KING HOT… AND RESPECTFUL”! I was swooning and melting at every single thing this man did and said. All he wanted was to take care of Molly however he could, and he’s truly the REAL MAN that everyone deserves.

My favorite part about this book was the incredible connection and COMMUNICATION between Matthew & Molly — I truly cannot stress how AMAZING it was. I believe with my whole heart that they are soulmates. They both needed someone to finally be wholly themselves with and were always there for each other even through all their struggles, and I felt like their relationship was just so pure and tender. I love them so much.

Overall, Matthew & Molly’s story was such a good addition to this lovely series, and I’m so grateful to have read it. If I were to think of the words “cozy” and “comforting,” they would be one of the first couples to come to mind. I also adored the the past character appearances and the fact that they were both readers — Matthew literally listens adoringly to all of Molly’s book ramblings and reads and loves her favorite books. If that’s not goals, I don’t know what is!

Thank you so much to Kels & Denise Stone for an ARC of this book 💌

kels & denise stone are quickly becoming some of my favorite authors because every book of theirs i read i love more & more <333

matthew and molly have always had a great friendship as coworkers, but when matthew steps up to help molly acquire her trust through a marriage of convenience they are forced to pretend to be more. when they go to spend 2 weeks at the on cloud nine resort to prove they are a true love match (with only one bed involved 🤭) both of their long time crushes start to blur the lines.

this book is SO sweet but also SO spicy so you get the best of both worlds in my opinion 😌🌶️

both of these characters have so much depth & we get to see so much of their love story unfold :,) there are also the cutest holiday scenes so now is a perfect time to read this book!

i can’t wait for final book in the series, but at the same time never want it to end!

Spice 🥵🥵🥵

Kels Stone has done absolute magic again with writing such mature characters, their individual stories but also their growth as a couple together 😩🧡

This book is filed with:
🧡Sexual Tension
🧡Age Gap
🧡Fake Dating/ Engagement
🧡Forced Proximity (same bed)
🧡She is a Billionaire Mirrorball
🧡He is a Nerdy entrepreneurial cat dad
🧡Family Meddling but also Found Family feels
🧡RolePlaying 👀
🧡 Messy Scenes 🥵
🧡Honest Communication
🧡No Third Act Breakup

Matthew is a sweetheart with such a calm and composure acting as a anchor for Molly 😩 he is the greenest flag because:
🧡He reads her favourite Romantasy Series
🧡He calls her Darling
🧡Doesn’t mind spending time to make her ✨
🧡He annotates books
🧡He is her personal Cheerleader
🧡Dresses up as her book crush

There are so many things about Molly which made me connect to her, the feeling of loosing personal identity. But her journey for herself was beautifully crafted and created.

Matthew’s will to stand up for Molly and act perfectly as a man written by a woman made me swoon in every chapter because this guy is a gem.

His ability to notice each and everything that concerns Molly and attempt to make her feel that she can fly was so heartwarming.

I loved how the story was wrapped up where every chapter felt like an epilogue 😩🥹🫂

A journey of self-discovery, love, and friendship.

I was really looking forward to Molly and Matthew’s story, but it unfortunately did not deliver. I found this whole thing to be very cringe, intensely lustful, and the characters were just so unlikable. Molly and Matthew had a cheesy high school-like relationship that I couldn’t stand.

No hate to the authors! I love Kels & Denise Stone with my whole heart.

Hands down my favorite book of the series so far!!!! This book gives 2000’s romcom and I ate it right up!!! If that’s something you love mark your calendars for November 1st!

This book starts off with a bang with them getting into a relationship right in the first chapter which I personally love!!! What happens Molly Greene gets to her engagement party and finds her fiancé cheating on her with the catering staff? Well in steps Matthew Hudson, her coworker that she’s had a massive crush on for the last 3 years. Did I mention Molly needs to get married before her 27th birthday so she can access her 50 million dollar trust?

Matthew is the ultimate book boyfriend. The man is literally a green flag walking. He is caring, reliable, nerdy, and would bend at the knee for Molly.

Molly is the girl that is trying to come out of the shadows of her well known family. She will do anything to prove she is her own person with her own goals. I loved seeing her growth and how much she came out of her shell at the end. Also my little fashionista. I loved reading about all of her cute outfits she was wearing.

Both Matthew and Molly start this pact in order to get their own share of the trust. But it quickly turns real for both of them throughout their journey. I loved seeing both of them fall in love with each other.

Also loved the all of the Luca/ Avery & Nico/ Lily appearances. I love this friend group so much!!!!

Thank you so much Kels and Denise for this arc!!! I absolutely adore your guys writing style. I can’t wait for this to be out in the world.

AHHHHH I’m in love with Kels and Denise.
I think I said this in every review for their books, but this author duo is the best thing that has happened to the romance-romcom world in the last two years.

Their writing is the bookish equivalent of listening to Taylor Swift music. It’s feel-good vibes, comforting and a guaranteed great time.

I think there’s no trope those two write and do not end up doing a phenomenal job. We had the enemies to lovers office romance, the friends with benefits travel romance….

I now introduce to you: FAKE DATING FRIENDS TO LOVERS. And this might be the best book in this series yet. Molly and Matthew were a joy to read about. These two nerds are the most adorable characters ever and reading about them slowly growing their mutual crush into love was just AHHAHDBSKFKQN (=the best).

THEY READ ROMANTASY TOGETHER AND COSPLAY IT. They are cat parents and arghhh just the absolute cutest ever.

This book was written to be read snuggled up under a cozy blanket with a hot beverage of your choice. Enjoying a cozy day inside.
It’s for all my rom com gals and pals. Zero miscommunication, third act break up or other bullshit we don’t want in our books. Just 400 pages of sweetness, love and spice.
The autumn vibes are properly autumning. The romance will have you giggle and kick your feet.

I absolutely devoured this story and loved every part of it. I can’t WAITTTT for the next book. It’s been teased a bit and I’m superrrrrr excited.
