Dive into the gritty adrenaline-fueled world of Miami's cocaine cowboys era. Movies glamorized it, but I lived it on the front lines against the ruthless Medellin Cartel. In Cocaine Cowboys Uncensored, you'll experience the obscene wealth, violence and constant threats I faced fresh out of college as a DEA agent in 1979. It's a firsthand account of matching wits with the cartels most dangerous while my life hung in the balance.
If you crave an unvarnished, action-packed look at the drug war's frontlines filled with dark humor, this memoir is a must read. Academic degrees in Pre Law and Economics took a back seat to sheer grit and survival instincts as I learned daily harsh truths of how the drug trade worked and how to survive.
Now retired, Chris recounts those linchpin years when the Colombian drug trade was at its most sinister with the highest stakes.
Good easy read. The book linked and referenced many of the books that focused on the Miami Fl drug scene in the 80's and 90's. The author's story was weaved through all the reference material. Excellent overview for someone looking for more leds on books that cover this material. Would have enjoyed more of his actual experiences.
