Malay A. Upadhyay grew up in the Eastern provinces of paradoxical India. It was a childhood of anomalies - a different spacetime, where he could not understand a friend's passion for books on one hand even as he wrote for school elocution on the other. Today, all his non-fiction works constitute matter(s) inherent to the society, organizations or the world around us.
A Duke of Edinburgh awardee, Advisor to The George Washington University School of Business's CX program and one of pioneering business leaders 2021 according to Mirror Review, Malay works as a Marketer, advisor and online instructor with an equivalent tilt towards Artificial Intelligence and its responsible usage. He conceived many of the techno-economic ideas described in his fictional book - Kalki Evian: The Ring of Khaoriphea - at Bocconi University in Milano. His extended profile can be seen at www.theupadhyays.com.
At other times, Malay is a fly who loves to travel with Mrs. Fly and discover the elusively effervescent, ephemeral connection among beings across space and time. That is after all, a belief that underlies every piece of literature ever written.

AI has been a revolutionary development in technology. And as a human being we should be updated day-by-day with the technology. Malay Upadhyay explains clearly how Generative AI can improvise out marketing skills and how it can make life easier. Having said that, author doesn't directly start with the matter. he first starts with basics such as what is AI, and evolution of Marketing and leveraging AI with marketing etc.
Author also explains what is the purpose of AI in marketing and its significance. And also the amount of risks when AI comes-in is very high. The author also emphasizes on compliance system and how it can be integrated here. There are two important aspects in AI - automation and future prediction which has made AI even more beautiful. In marketing that is what more required. This book was really helpful to understand about Generative and its features. A must technical book for techies.

Generative AI for Marketing is meant to position current and future marketers to become those leaders and lead their organizations in the AI era.

This is the third book I am reading from Malay A. Upadhyay

This book elucidates the evolving role and needs of Generative AI in marketing, providing a blueprint for businesses to thrive in an ever-evolving business landscape by achieving the agility and adaptability needed to sustain growth with AI.

Tailored for marketers and business students alike, readers will gain a commanding set of tools to master the trifecta of foundational AI knowledge, its applications in Marketing, and the know-how to automate growth without increasing costs.

The author demystifies AI for marketing professionals while introducing a revolutionary functional structure for organizations looking to embrace the future. By shifting traditional functions into project areas and reimagining marketing organizations around three core functions—Content Creation, Automation, and Insights Generation— this insightful guide embodies the principles of frugal innovation.

It enables companies to navigate the dynamic landscape of AI, fostering agility and strategic alignment, and enabling innovation that is faster, better, and cheaper. A must-read for anyone seeking to harness the full potential of generative AI in marketing and stay ahead in this rapidly evolving field.

Previously, AI most books focused solely on the ‘how to.’ By contrast, the author looks at the evolution of marketing to predict where it is going and the evolution of AI to see the next logical steps in its evolution. He then blends those analyses to give readers a glimpse of how AI will be applied to marketing in the future. The result is a power user’s guide. Whether the predictions prove true or not, the issues and questions he discusses are ones that every marketer should consider.

As marketers embrace the AI evolution, they’re rapidly researching, generating, distributing, and optimizing multimedia content at unprecedented rates, all while maintaining high editorial standards.

This book empowers creatives to unlock GenAI-enabled product potential through team optimization and process automation.
We live in a world of cause and effect. To leverage generative AI in marketing, we must first remove the organizational barriers that limit returns from AI initiatives. For those barriers to surface, we need to understand the structures and processes they reside in, and how and why they came to be the way they are.

A comprehensive understanding of marketing often has two prerequisites. The first is to understand the interconnectedness of marketing, sales, and customer success and how they act like one entity. The second is to understand the different elements of marketing involved in manifesting this connection—an ongoing cyclical movement of strategy reformulation and its execution. The author proposes a structure that can better leverage AI to suitably predict, automate, and adapt marketing initiatives to stay ahead of the market.

In deconstructing what underlies the intelligent entity we seem to be creating; we have progressed from the ancient technique of visible pattern recognition to tracing invisible patterns that allow us to predict ever-greater details of the future.
Generative AI is powerful because it brings together linguistic analysis, self-learning, and the ability to process information the way a human brain does. But while it can work in tandem with other techniques, these are not always prepackaged tools that one can simply plug into any use case.

A deluge of AI experts has granted us the luxury of enjoying robust models suited to any unique use case our organization may have. Yet, it is not the models but their management where returns on investment tend to become evasive. Initiating AI journeys entails Several components— from checking an organization’s readiness to use AI, given its requirements, to the very decision of whether to use AI to solve a problem.

Having checked the AI readiness levels and decided whether to invest in AI, the author discusses how we begin to deploy our chosen solution and drive its adoption within the organization. Before we embark on that journey, we must understand the risks that AI brings and establish certain guidelines to manage them. This is also important for successful ROI generation. How success is defined needs clarity across the organization, which necessitates finalizing the metrics to measure AI and its users’ performance. And, of course, the deployment journey itself has a few nuances to take care of for a smooth adoption curve.

AI brings many intraorganizational risks that mandate careful governance. These can include obstruction to existing systems and processes, unforeseen dependencies, and collateral costs to other lines of businesses, to the employees, or even to causing irreversible market repercussions. The author suggested accountabilities and measures to establish policies that govern both the AI initiatives and their collaboration with the workforce. It also explained the careful buy-ins that must form part of the deployment process to ensure the solutions work and are used well. At the end of the day, a team should be able to measure not only the AI’s performance but also that of its users and the overall business impact. Metrics, pitfalls, and innovation will form a key component of the next part of this book as we now dive into the specifics of how AI-driven marketing can operate successfully by leveraging generative AI.

From an organization’s perspective, content creation is, in itself, a journey. Content resources involved in the different project areas therefore need a clear strategy and plan to align with. This corresponds to the type and consistency of content as well as the process and volumes that can be sustained by the content resources available in this functional group. The first step for a marketing organization, therefore, is to assess its content maturity.

Whether it’s text, images, videos, sounds, hybrid files, codes, or entire entities, the author demonstrates how different content types can merge or even help generate each other with generative AI. These impressions can not only help produce effective material at scale—from planning to execution— but also allow improved audience engagement. Such optimization brings us to the doorstep of automation and insights enablement.

AI-enabled automation encapsulates what makes AI so powerful: a system that can perform tasks autonomously at an unmatched scale and speed. This attribute of generative AI is not limited to generating content alone; in fact, it has a greater impact on processes. The author introduces vital cogs in the application of generative AI, for some measure of process enablement is always involved in these initiatives. As a first step, we come across how the author discusses identified opportunities for automation in an organization from the many possibilities that are typically available.

Predicting the future is a fanciful job. Even if it’s an informed estimation, it is rendered meaningful only by the strength of its underlying patterns. A generative AI future can go in many directions, impacted by macroeconomic factors we may not yet foresee.

What we do know is the large-scale operational automation it is likely to bring to companies, thanks to improvements in its underlying models. Those same improvements will also give birth to novel applications that were elusive earlier. All of that will inevitably result in a socioeconomic shift, similar to what the first Industrial Revolution, the arrival of cars, or the rise of social media did.

A host of macroeconomic or geopolitical events can prolong its trajectory but we are likely to keep heading toward an artificial general intelligence reality.

This book is written to help those in marketing (students, managers, and practitioners) maneuver the ins and outs of AI, and how to utilize it to help them see growth without increasing costs. I, personally, am just interested in learning about AI for my own knowledge. I use Alexa on a regular basis for many things, and I’m not sure I could get around without WAZE leading me away from construction zones or traffic delays due to accidents on the road. Many worry that AI will take away the need for humans, thereby hurting employment rates, but that is not the case. As the author states, humans are needed to actually work the AI, and monitor for malfunctions or mis-steps. Just as any type of technology, it helps more than it hurts.
This would make an excellent textbook for marketing students. Part one is a brief history of marketing. Part two gets into the statistical usage of AI and how it can help with data driven decision making. It is like a mini-crash course on what AI is all about. Part three dives a little deeper. Does your company need AI? Or not? These are questions you have to know the answer to before going full steam ahead and investing in AI for your business. The author recommends using the TUSCANE approach (timely, usable, structured, complete, accurate, not biased, and enough in volume). I found chapter five to be the most helpful in addressing the pros and cons of using AI.
This is the second book I have read regarding AI in the past month, and I thought this one was much easier to understand. It is written clearly, like a textbook. In fact, the more I read, the more I felt it would make an excellent textbook resource for any marketing class at any university. There were a few elements within the book that did not make sense to me because I do not have a marketing background, but it was a wealth of information for what I wanted. I learned a ton about AI, and I highly recommend this book to anyone else wanting to learn more about AI. For those who actually own a business and rely on marketing and are considering investing in AI, this is a great resource.

This is the third book I've read and reviewed by this particular author. The first two, each created as if they are textbooks, described what artificial intelligence is and then suggested methodology for implementing AI into marketing. This book, entitled Generative AI for Marketing, takes the process a step further by explaining how to incorporate generative AI into marketing. Author Malay Upadhyay first reviews the evolution of marketing in general, which gradually proceeds from brand identity creation to identifying potential customers to the forming of brand resonance, which is the connection between business and customers. And how is that brand resonance achieved? In this book, Upadhyay suggests the use of generative AI. Machines these days can be "taught" to write poems, tell jokes, create essays, etc, all which appear as if a human created them. Why not use that and similar artificial capacities to enhance marketing and build a personal rapport with the target audience?

As was the case with previous books, the author covers the "nuts and bolts" of marketing. For example, he describes the problems created by external marketing shifts engendered by the impact of shareholders, the difficulty of strained supply chains, and the impact of the pandemic, as well as internal shifts which include the need to hire people who are adept in building machine learning models. He describes the steps of content creation, process automation and insights generation, all of which are designed to assist the customer in the journey from brand awareness to loyalty.

Gone are the days when a company could simply create a product and let the customer figure out how to best use it, and this author is telling us why and how we've made the journey.

First of all thank you for making me read this book I really loved everything about it .
Now let's move on .
I never believed in the power of AI, I kinda did but only in sci-fi movies, not in real life. I didn't see any need for it or its value because I was doing just fine without it. I saw AI as a tool that could be misused, or something that could replace human creativity. But then, I read "Generative AI for Marketing" by Malay A. Upadhyay. The way Upadhyay explains the transformative potential of AI in marketing, how it can automate growth and drive innovation, it just blew my mind. I loved the clarity of his writing, his intelligence, and his deep understanding of the subject. Even his hard-headedness in emphasizing the ethical considerations and challenges of AI touched a part of my mind that was always skeptical, and always craving for a deeper understanding. Upadhyay healed the misconceptions I had and the writer drew stars around the possibilities that made me love each one of them. And I realized now it's not that I didn't believe in AI before, it is just that I had never encountered such a compelling and insightful guide before.
Side note : Al still freaks me out yet the book is really good . Thank you for reading my review .

Generative AI for Marketing is a technical book that is very much needed at this time where AI is becoming a highly used tool, not only in our work environment but also in our daily lives.

This book starts by explaining a little bit about the Evolution of Marketing and how we look at it but also gives insight about AI and it's rise, describing us different issues and situations about the Impact that we can expect AI to have in the Marketing area specifically, but also in Technology as a whole.
The examples used make it that much easier to understand and Connect to the Point the Author is trying to make.
The book provides powerful knowledge and advice for people that work or Study in this Field and therefore I highly recommend it.

Although it is a technical book it is very easy to read and understand giving us a very interesting insight about such a current and impactful issue that we hear about everyday.

Generative AI is something that's becoming more and more dominant in technology, and we hear about it all the time.

I think that AI, and its use, is something that will sometimes spark a debate, about how it should be used, and to what extent.

I found this a detailed and interesting read, and I felt the author used relatable examples to illustrate his points. It was interesting to read about how AI has evolved from the technology that was available a few years ago, and what it can do for us.

I think that perhaps I wasn't the right audience for this book, as I still find AI to be a very mind-boggling concept, and its potential is a vast thing to contemplate. Although we hear about it all the time, I think it's quite mind-boggling to grasp everything that it could be capable of in the future.

If you are interested in the use of AI and how it can be used in marketing and businesses, this will be an interesting read for you.

As marketers and business professional observe the the AI evolution, no one can dispute the change AI has brought on. Content creation and marketing analytics are, and will be radically changed forever. Those who don't embrace it will ultimately get left behind. What I liked about this book was that it took an average reader to a place of understanding regarding AI and marketing, and how AI can work for you. If you are curious about generative AI and want to learn more about optimization, creation, and marketing then I would recommend this book.
