The paranormal and the realm of the unknown have always been an intriguing aspect of our existence. Even in modern life, with its technological advances and scientific certainty, there are experiences and phenomena that simply cannot be explained away by science and facts. Strange sightings, possible hauntings, monsters and legends continue to fascinate our curious minds. The Paranormal Files shows that sometimes we just don't have all the answers, covering such cases as:
•How extrasensory perception can beat the odds •The lingering traces of the assassination of President Lincoln •Crop circles and ley lines that mark the landscape •UFO attacks on Washington DC
From the domestic to the epic, The Paranormal Elles explores the world of the unexplained and the uncanny, with case studies from around the world from ancient folklore to modern times.
Contemporary photos help set the scene and introduce you to the key figures in the history of the unknown.
I enjoyed this book. I thought the Aliens (Shy Visitors) and Creatures (Wild And Wonderful) sections were really good while the Ghost (Haunted) section was disappointing. The last section called Strangest Things was hit or miss, but enjoyed the Bermuda Triangle and Crop Circles part. As a natural skeptic on a lot of things, what I did like about this book is that after all the story and explanation parts, they had a skeptics section where things are attempted to be explained naturally.
An interesting look at a range of paranormal events including UFO incidents, hauntings, unknown animals and other phenomena. This book is nicely laid out with supporting pictures, case notes and descriptions. An enjoyable read!
An interesting read on all things paranormal, my favourite chapters were surrounding anything haunted, or reading about the 'paranormal creatures' like mermaids, Bigfoot and the Yeti. Phenomena such as The Bermuda Triangle were also fascinating.
Surprisingly I found the UFO chapters to be quite dull.
I'd say this could have been a more informative book, featuring more photo documents, and to include cases with more solid evidence, because there are lots out there than what was provided. It was a decent book to read but nothing to shout about.
