Electra Montrose is a fighter. After clawing her way back from a career disaster, she’s now on the brink of landing a game-changing account.

But Victor Jackson believes the account is his for the taking. He’s worked hard to overcome his own troubled business past, knowing this win could secure his future.

When they lock eyes in the conference room, the tension is electric. Their shared history is fraught with conflict, and now they’re forced to collaborate, tearing open old wounds and unearthing unresolved grudges.

Then, something unexpected happens. Sparks ignite.

Hate turns to something even more intense, and the two must navigate business, pleasure, and their distrust of one another to win something even more important than their client's love.

Ten years ago, Electra and Victor were fired under a cloud of suspicion that has followed them professionally and has tainted their names in the consulting industry. She blamed him, he blamed her and, from that moment on, they became mortal enemies. Even with time and age, nothing has changed. Electra and Victor still can’t stand each other but, they are forced to work together once again when they both land the StarTech account for their individual consulting companies. They try to put their dislike for each other aside to get this money but, that’s easier said than done. It was literally static from the moment they got on the plane to NYC and it never let up. The heavy hater energy was on ten with these two. The way Electra and Victor couldn't stand each other was top tier comedy. The insults, the name calling, and the sarcastic back and forth was pure entertainment. ‘This was DEFCON 5 level sex. The type of sex your uncles warn you about. That crashing out, turning on locations, driving by, popping up, making excuses, overworked, going broke, losing all your friends, crying in the dark, listening to Jodeci, begging on your knees type of sex.’ LOL!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Listen, these two loved to hate each other and they did it well. I really liked this book. Starcrossed was a good time from start to finish. I loved how the characters transitioned from enemies to lovers so seamlessly. I loved how the author highlighted the struggles of being not only a woman but, a black woman in corporate America and the biases we face. I loved the updates on Savanah and Taurus. I loved that we got to see them have their baby and get married. 🥹🥹🥹🥹 When I started Starcrossed, it was a solid 4 stars but, as I got further into this book, it just kept getting better and better. And, I picked the perfect time to read it because, Isaac’s book comes out today. If you have not indulged in this series, do so expeditiously.

Electra x Victor

This gets an A from me. Enemies to lovers is one of my absolute favorite tropes, so this story was a delight. The banter, dialogue, chemistry, and transition from enemies to lovers were all excellent.
Both Electra and Victor exuded sexiness in everything they did. I enjoyed the first book in this series, so I had high hopes for this one, and the author delivered!
I loved getting to know Victor and Electra.

A good enemies to lovers!

I'm so glad Shae came back to this series with this fun enemies-to-lovers and with a splash of office romance! Victor and Electra were on sight with each other from Chapter 1, but that hate would never outweigh the curiosity they had for one another! I enjoyed their banter and was rooting for them from the first page! I will say Electra got too much dip on her chip at times trying to be messy and I understand as a girl who loves mess 😩. My sis had to learn a lil lesson lmao! Victor stood on business in the end and in all ways and I'm so glad we got the results we deserve! I was a bit confused about the previous company sabotage but as the story unfolded it seemed to be bigger issues than just Victor and Electra. I loved the real workplace politics, being black and a woman in tech or corporate, and other themes Shae highlighted in this book! Those moments felt very real and relatable to me! The updates on Savanah and Taurus were great! Even Isaac! I can't wait to see if Issac’s story will be told but either way, this was a fun read!

Hate so good

Shae always delivers and this was no different! Lawd the pettiness and insults between these two was hilarious. Loved the way the chemistry evolved and how things ultimately played out - realistic although I would’ve loved to get some closure on the Nexus situation BUT like I said, realistic in that you don’t always get the answers you wanted and have to choose to move on anyway. Really looking forward to Isaac’s story and welcome to the world Christopher Taurus Jackson!

This quote sums up this book...“Do y’all ever get any work done, or do y’all just be f*cking and arguing in front of that old lady?”

It wasn't until the 80% the back and forth took a turn from just hate sex and miscommunication. But there were some interesting parts sexism in the workplace and even childbirth mortality rates for BW. Overall, you have to really enjoy enemies to lovers to like this one. I can't wait for Isaac's book.

Really a 3.5 but rounded up

CN: wrongful termination, sexism, microagressions, miscarriage, mention of drug use, isolation, go into labor

Nice

It took a while, but.... We made it. The Jackson brothers have the correct name. They carry my name well..😁 The story took a while to get to the lovers part, it was okay with me. A good read.

Tussling to Hunching 🤺💦🍆🤭🥰

Victor and Electra really couldn’t stand eachother. It was literally static from them laying eyes on one another. Electra met her match when it came to Victor. They little back and forth banter I was here for. In my head I’m like “just hunch already” lol. Like yall know yall want to and lowkey feeling eachother.

What I would’ve loved to see was them getting down to the nitty gritty of Nexus but everything worked out for the best.

Loved the updates on Taurus and Savannah. I can definitely see a Isaac story in the future. This was a entertaining fun read.

a good enemies to lovers story

Really enjoyed Victor and Electra’s love story. They met years ago and hated each other, only to have to work together again. Whew they really didn’t like each other but the sparks and the attraction overshadowed the intense dislike. I’m glad they worked through their trust issues to get to their HEA.

Whew!!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

I devoured this book!
This enemies to lovers was done perfectly. It made sense. It wasn't too over the top, it was believable and relatable.
I enjoyed the characters, their banter and their chemistry.
I laughed and blushed so much while reading this. Definitely a must read!

There’s a thin line between love and hate. Vic and Electra learned that quickly! They brought heavy hater energy to the work place which made the banter so good and extra petty. Eventually that energy has to be spent somewhere, and well you know how that goes.

Loved Taurus and Savannah reappearances. Man is running a tight ship to keep her happy. Love to see it lol.

it was okay….but good if you like this trope

This novella helped me realize that I do not care for enemies to lovers in romance books, give me all the feels with no crazy drama.

So with that being said if you truly love the enemies to lovers trope then you’ll truly enjoy this book bc these two hated each other with true disdain like no other!!! I believed the hate more than the actual love when he came around, wish we spent more time on the lovers portion like we did in the enemy side of their relationship. So for me it didn’t really do much but if this is your favorite type of trope then this is the one for you.

Also wish we would have gotten a resolution in the whole Nexxus thing

Okay, this was everything I love in an enemies to lovers romance. Real vitriol rooted in a legit conflict, built up tension and attraction that exploded into some real hot shit, and a good balance between the figuring out the romance and conflict resolution of the issue.

Vic and E were petty boots and I live!!!! The names they came up with, even when they were feeling each other showed a true commitment to the petty and how much they genuinely liked each other once they let their guards down. They simultaneously hated and loved each other and it worked for them. They also had each other’s back professionally which, given the context of their conflict, was mature on their part.

I also appreciated the attention to the obstacles and sabotage non-white people face in corporate America, especially Black women, and how they have to navigate so many expectations to the point of changing a person. They also got the one-up on them at the end, which was even better✊🏾

I love some good old fashioned hate

I loved Electra and Victor, like they really couldn’t stand each other. I could feel their disdain for each other and the transition from disdain to a specific type of tension was so seamless. I was glad we got to catch up with Savannah and Taurus as well. Looking forward to whatever Isaac’s story brings us. If you are looking for a REAL enemies to lovers you definitely want to check this out!

Starcrossed

This was a well written enemies to lovers story. Victor and Electra kept me laughing with their insults and I loved when they finally started working out their sexual tension. They definitely met their match with each other.

This was a tougher Jackson Brothers novel for me to get through than the first one. I think it just boiled down to the fact that I was less invested and/or moved by Victor and Electra's story than I was Savannah and Taurus'. The corporate espionage storyline wasn't something I was all too interested in and its only just now as i'm typing this up, that i'm realizing, that particular mystery or storyline was never actually tied up.

All in all, this was just an "ok" book for me. Not likely something i'll remember in a weeks time. But it wasn't bad...and I'll definitely be reading the next book that was just release recently after I've read a few other books that are on my radar.

🌟🌟🌟🌟💫 4.5 stars rounded up — this may be my first enemies to lovers romance and this trope might be a new favorite of mine. Some of the consulting jargon threw me off and made the beginning a little slow for me but I'm glad I stuck with it. Once I got past this part, the story found its rhythm, and I was hooked.

The tension between Electra & Victor was unmistakable and their back and forth throughout the story was very entertaining to read. The tension also made their chemistry undeniable. "Hate sex" is new to me but whewwww it was spicyyyyy, ya hear me! 🔥🌶️ Shae be doing the damn thing when she is writing some erotica! I really enjoyed the evolution of their love story because it was paced very well, therefore more authentic.

The Jackson Brother banter was another high point for me in this book. It added some much needed humor as well as character development for Isaac, Taurus, and Victor. I can't wait to read about Isaac in book 3!

3.5 ⭐️ and 2🌶️

Vic and Electra. This was definitely a hate to love trope.
I’m not sure it’s a favorite trope for me because once the love comes in, it’s hard for me to believe in it because it seems like it just switches overnight.
•I do love how they showed up for each other during the important events in their lives
•I wish we would’ve found out who sabotaged them at Nexus
•I loved the scene with Vic and Ny on the way to the hospital. That was so sweet and a very valid concern for an 8 year old. I’m thankful Vic didn’t dismiss her feelings.
•Loved catching up with Savannah and Taurus 🥰

Great Job!

Enemies to lovers tropes can go either way. It’s tricky because the climax of the story usually happens when they hook up, so most authors keep the couples apart as long as possible which makes it a frustrating read for the reader. However, Ms. Sanders successfully managed to get Electra and Victor together while not together. It was interesting to see them back peddling into a relationship. It felt organic. Great job Ms. Sanders, you are 2 for 2. I can’t wait to read Isaiah’s story.

I really liked this. Vic was more reasonable than Electra, but you gained a little insight as to why she was the way she was. The funniest parts were the evil names they would refer to each other in their minds...had me cracking up!

This one resonated a little more with me then Taurus' book bc I liked that Electra had more professional aspirations than Savannah did.

(I'm hoping Isaac gets a book. I feel like his will be the most intense, but meaningful.)

Enemies to Lovers!

I honestly didnt think Vic and Electra would make it to stop being enemies!! Lol These two went at it ya hear me!! I guess that much anger means you definitely have some feelings deep down. Vic was more open than Electra, but he had zero problems moving her in his direction. This was funny and sexy all at the same time. I do wanna know who exactly set them up at their old company Nexus. Hmm..

The fact that stayed up on a work night to finish this story should let you know how weak in knees I was for this story to unfold ! Somewhat familiar to the brother and sister -in- law relationship start up, but it gave funny and nasty!

I wanted to gear more “auntie clocking” from Nora.

I have it 4, because it was page turner, 5 stars would have been in they tapped into the darker side of the bedroom a little more. 🫶
