Bully in the Mirror: Making Hate Stop When You Don't Think You Can

Rate this book
Bullying is everywhere....and so is media coverage of bullying. In recent months, Ladies Home Journal, The Week, Redbook, and New York Times have all run articles on bullying. Episodes of Hannah Montana and Glee have dealt with bullying, and MTC launched a reality TV show called Bully Beatdown in 2009. Even the US Government is concerned; the Department of Health and Human Services has an interactive website dedicated to cyber-bullying. Bully in the Mirror can be a powerful part of the solution. The book blends facts about the negative effects of bullying with the author's views. Since Shanaya is a 13 year old girl who has been bullied, her experiences and those of her friends create an immediate connection with today's kids. Each chapter provides important facts along with tips and exercises Shanaya created. Readers learn how bullies operate and how to stop them in their tracks.

AUTHOR
MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER
Shanaya is an eccentrically eloquent entertainer and young extraordinaire. With a boundless, nonconforming imagination and perception of all her surroundings, she has an inclination to incite social justice through enthralling story telling in the form of fiction novels by using fantasy-like narratives to evoke awareness of common tribulations. Being heavily inspired by symbolism and how works of art in any form can be translated, Shanaya’s songwriting is ambiguous and spirited by humanity’s complexities and the vastness of Creation.
Ms. Fastje’s range of talent surpasses the perception of average. Being a songwriter and singer for most of her young life has challenged her to take a journey of self-reinvention – developing her strengths in music – to fulfill and continue her multifaceted, epic story of success.
When her career first came to be at a very young age as a National Motivational Speaker – speaking with great ardor each time (at venues such as The University of Southern California, California State University San Bernardino, La Vern University, and The Queen Mary, to name just a few) – it was then that she was distinguished and quickly evolved to be one of the youngest, most influential teens today as an International and national award winning writer of four books by the time she was fifteen.
With a unique niche of authorship, Shanaya signed a traditional publishing contract for her life impacting, International award winning book titled Bully in The Mirror; a self help/book for teens, parents, schools, and teachers, which helps with teaching to build stronger self-esteem and confidence for a desirable life, when she was age twelve.
In a remarkable turn of events, her self-help book “Bully In the Mirror” was voted worthy for “Books to Movies” by a panel of 126 judges by International Latino Literacy Now.
Today, Shanaya’s remarkable life is fascinating but nontraditional and frankly, not-so-average. When Shanaya was 13 years of age, she graduated high school with honors and nineteen credits over the requirement in Texas.
Her list of extraordinary achievements has been praise and awarded from by prominent figures, including U.S. President Barack Obama, Governor Rick Perry, Mayor John Cook – proclaiming Shanaya Fastje day in El Paso Texas – the city of Burbank (CA) honoring her with the Austin Cook Award, and many more.
Shanaya continues to captivate us all.
