Not great not terrible, the lightest of light novels around (130 pages). This one focus a bit more on world building and some of the fights are kind of fun. There is some character growth but not much. Another irritating character added, to replace the preexisting irritating characters that have somehow grown a tiny bit

Much like previous installments, light, fun, quick and entertaining. We get more new characters, some big ol' battles in the Phoenix tournament and learn a bit more about what's going on. Plans within plans...

So yeah -- the Phoenix Festa *still* isn't over in this book. I think I said before that they might have benefited from being longer books... but it doesn't really change that they are entertaining.

Verdict: If you've liked the series thus far you know what you're in for. Certainly not the place to starts, go pick up The Asterisk War, Vol. 1: Encounter with a Fiery Princess to start the series.

Not that this particular book was bad, but this tournament arc seems to be lasting longer than it actually has (2 volumes). This took me so long to read because I couldn’t get invested in the story; half of the 140 pages were fights, it seemed. I’ll probably be taking a break from this series for a while so I don’t feel the same way for volume 5.

Awesome action scenes

I know this series revolves around a man made island where the main cast is constantly fighting. But I can't say it enough how much I love the way the author describes the fights in this series. They're so well done I feel like I'm there. The character development is also amazing.
