Charlie Santa Lucia knows all about trouble; that’s what happens when you’re a secret Robin Hood targeting corporate greed. For Charlie, being able to spring her father from prison for a crime he didn’t commit was worth all the trouble in the world. But it appears she’s gotten sloppy; a handsome PI is on her tail, and he chases her all the way to the only place she can find safe harbor—with her friends in Firelight Ridge, Alaska. When she takes a job at stunning Fire Peak Lodge, she’s promptly plunged into a mystery that finds her embroiled in even more trouble that she’s used to.

Nick Perini never leaves a job unfinished, but Charlie has so far bested him at every turn. The brainy beauty gave him the slip in Alaska…which is a place his newfound teen daughter happens to want to visit. Chasing Charlie, getting to know his daughter, and solving mini-mysteries for the locals makes for a pretty hectic “vacation.” When Charlie gets him tangled in a case involving the area’s most majestic mountain, his holiday goes from hectic to downright hazardous.

The deeper Nick and Charlie dive into the mysteries of Fire Peak, the closer they come to unearthing forty-year-old secrets that some will do anything to protect—and one secret that others will kill to claim.

Fire Peak was amazing! I couldn't stop turning the pages once I opened the book!! Bernard has proven once again that she is queen of small town, suspense romance!!

Charlie Saint Lucia and Nick Perini were on a hunt for answers. Answers to questions that were decades old, but all began because Nick was originally hunting down Charlotte, or Charlie as she prefers to be called. But let me backup...because yes, you read that right-Nick was hired to find her, however let's move forward from that case because after their meet-cute the rest of the book is where the story is at. It's a month after that initial run in and now - Nick has returned to Alaska where his trail ran cold in his hot pursuit of Charlie, but this time he's back with his daughter for summer vacation and this time he's just on vacation.  Nick actually ends up finding Charlie and he also ends up with multiple police or investigative adjacent type cases on his hands. It's so funny...no matter how often he tries to tell people that he's not actually a police officer, it doesn't seem to work. He learns very quickly the people in Firelight Ridge, Alaska beat to their own drummer. 🤣

As for Charlie, she's completely fallen in love with Firelight Ridge. It's the first time in her life where she feels at home. Even with Nick sniffing around. Charlie is a woman who has always taken care of everyone and everything around her. She's quick minded and quick solving in just about every situation. To have both Nick and Charlie working together is like a dream team of investigators, if only Charlie was working on Nick's team and not against him...although when the mystery actually turns into more than just the one that originally brought him to Alaska...well...these two are just adorable and quite intoxicating! 😍

I have to say that Bernard breathes life into small town characters like nobody else I read. She adds light, humor, passion, and depth, especially to a remote part of the world where you wouldn't expect it to shine and I can never get enough. Fire Peak is adventurous, full of mystery and charm and the perfect summer read.

Fire Peak by Jennifer Bernard, book two in her Firelight Ridge series, was an amazing romantic suspense, filled with charm, intrigue, and twists and turns that kept me engaged and guessing right up to the very end.

The company Charlie Santa Lucia’s father was working for, when she was young, set him up to go to jail. As she grew older, Charlie became a self-appointed Robin Hood hacker targeting the worst corporate wrongdoers and secretly redirecting funds toward non-profits that needed them. While trying to get her sick, innocent father out of jail, she may have gone too far; taken too much. Nick Perini a private investigator, was hired to investigate Charlie, as the company her dad used to work for wanted to talk to her. Accidently running into each other when each was out jogging, the two became friendly; until Charlie recognized Nick spying on her when she was visiting her father in jail. Believing she needed to get away, Charlie goes to Firelight Ridge, only he’s hot on her tail. With the quirky and protective residents of Firelight Ridge hiding Charlie, Nick leaves the small town; only to return a little while later, off the case and with his teenage daughter, Hailey, for a summer vacation. Yes, only a vacation, despite residents believing he is really the police and asking for his help to with their own troubles.

Charlie is working at a lodge near Fire Peak and has totally fallen in love with Firelight Ridge; being the first time in her life where she feels at home. When Nick and his daughter have dinner at the lodge, he and Charlie end up putting out a smoke bomb in the dining room. That is the first incident indicating there is a threat and related to a decades old mystery. Nick and Charlie find themselves on the hunt for answers before anyone gets hurt; especially as their feelings for each other grow. As incidents escalate and become more dangerous, Nick and Charlie are forced to involve some the residents of Firelight Ridge, to help them get to the bottom of the situation.

Ms Bernard wrote another incredible suspense romance that will keep you on edge until the very last page. Filled with humor, passion, romance, mystery, and beautiful scenery, the reader is taken on a journey to a remote part of the world. I am so looking forward to reading more about this distant, interesting, beautiful yet isolated township with its wonderful mixture of fearless, independent characters; as well as more about this group of strong female friends.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

What a great character Charlie is! Tall, blonde, smart, and loyal to her father and her three best friends, she’s lived her life not getting close to anyone else, even her best friends don’t know exactly what she does for a living. When her father gets sick in prison, she’s tired of waiting around and hatches a plan to get him out and treated for his illness. Unfortunately, this puts her on the radar of the company that used him as their fall guy and they send Nick Perini after her. After meeting her, Nick has his questions and doubts about the people who hired him. When Charlie flees to Firelight Ridge in the middle of nowhere Alaska where two of her best friends have settled, the town rallies to hide her from Nick. Funnily enough, the town (and Charlie) have grown on him and he brings his newly discovered daughter back for summer vacation, getting accepted into the towns fabric pretty quickly. Charlie has also hung around, getting a job working at an exclusive Lodge halfway to Fire Peak. When strange things start happening, Charlie turns to Nick for help in figuring things out.
Jennifer Bernard had created a fun new world with Firelight Ridge. Full of fun characters, romance, and intrigue, it was hard to put this one down. Yes, it’s the second book (I am sure there will be at least four! One for each friend!) but it can be read as a standalone novel, you won't be lost if you start with this one.
Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the novel. All opinions are my own and freely given.

Another trip back to Firelight Ridge and this time Charlie is in trouble! None of Charlie's friends were ever quite sure what Charlie did for a living but none them would ever have guessed that she's an computer hacker that likes to play Robin Hood. In trying to help her father, she's gotten herself into a bit of a pickle and that pickle's name is Nick Perini! Nick has been working as a private investigator for years and prides himself on always getting the job done. That is until the job leads him to Charlie Santa Lucia. She's unlike anyone he's ever been tasked with finding before and the more that he gets to know her, the more intrigued by her he is. The chase leads them both to Firelight Ridge and all the quirky characters that live there. When Nick returns after losing Charlie the first time, he brings his teenage daughter along for the trip. These three stumble into a mystery revolving around Fire Peak and the residents of Firelight Ridge that has gone unanswered for decades. Will they figure out the mysteries surrounding Fire Peak and the lodge built at it's base? Fire Peak was told from dual POV and was a light and easy romantic suspense story. There's very little angst, lots of laughs and just a bit of heat. It truly stands alone in the series but if you want to know more about the supporting characters, I recommend going back and reading Ice Falls to really get the full story about Firelight Ridge.

I definitely enjoyed this 2nd book in the Firelight Ridge series!

Charlie is such a great character and I love how she stands up to problems. The storyline makes the small Alaskan town of Firelight Ridge come to life with a collection of unique characters, suspense, interesting history and some danger.

Charlie and Nick had a meet-cute in Indiana before she realized he was following her. She goes on the run driving her friend Molly’s cherry red BMW convertible to a remote town in Alaska. Nick catches up to her, but doesn’t actually catch her. These two go from friends with potential, to adversaries and back to friends with potential before the storyline really kicks into a higher gear.

Nick and his daughter are vacationing in Firelight Ridge for the summer when he starts asked to help solve various mysteries and other miscellaneous things. Charlie is working at Fire Peak resort and trying to keep an eye out for Nick, still trying to stay way under the radar. Mysterious events keep happening near Charlie and Nick that have them questioning what’s going on and teaming up to figure it out.

I enjoyed how the local residents are part of the storyline and the four best friends are there to assist es h other regardless of the situation. I’m looking forward to the rest of this series and have fallen in love with small town Alaska.

I received a free ARC from the author and 1852 Media; and I am voluntarily leaving an unbiased review.

Fire Peak by Jennifer Bernard is another winner. I am really enjoying this series. It takes me back to the traditional mysteries I used to read. And the mystery surrounding Fire Peak just keeps getting better. We have met the four childhood friends Molly, Lila, Charlie, and Ani. In Fire Peak, Charlie is on the run to Alaska to be with Molly and Lila who are already there. Nick, an investigator, is chasing her down. Charlie, a computer whiz, might have done some illegal or questionable computer hacking. With good intentions, of course. Nick has been hired by a big firm to catch her and is waiting outside Firelight Ridge for her to arrive but Charlie disappears into the depths of the town, thanks to her friends. Charlie quickly hires on at the exclusive, remote resort outside town. Of course, the two eventually meet and that’s when the fun begins. Nick’s stay in Alaska sort of snowballs on him because he mistaken by the citizens of Firelight Ridge for a policeman and they all seem to jobs for him to investigate. It’s hard to really review this book without giving away too much of the exciting plot. The story is funny and tense and exciting all at once. The HEA is cute. I do hope we find out more about a few of the characters in this book in future books. Fire Peak is well written and well edited making the book easy to read. Jennifer Bernard is one of my all-time favorite authors and Fire Peak definitely lives up to Bernard’s artistic writing skill.

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly I can get through one of Jennifer Bernard’s books. It is one of those books you can never seem to put down and keep telling yourself just one more chapter. This book and series are set in a small wilderness town of Firelight Ridge. Like most small towns there is one main road in so folks know when you arrive and. When you leave. In this book we follow the life of Charlie Saint Lucia. She is trying to get her father out of prison while getting herself out of trouble for making companies pay it forward by skimming money from them in a no conspicuous manner. She has gotten a little sloppy though which causes some red flags as well as a private investigator who ends up tailing her to Firelight Ridge. EnterNick Perini who has been hired to find Charlie to bring her in. Nick always gets the person he is after but Charlie is good and happens to slip between the cracks. Nick does not let that stop him though he is slowed down a bit because has most recently accepted joint custody of his daughter. His “vacation” turns intl a mystery when he gets thrown in the middle of everything trying to catch Charlie even though it is no longer officially requested by his employee but Nick never gives up so when he follows Charlie to Firelight Ridge he thinks his chase will come to an end. Instead he finds himself in the middle of a mystery of minerals that have been discovered in this small town. Throw in he somehow has fallen for Charlie and you fjnd yourself engulfed in a story that will have you turning g the page just to find out what happens next.

If you never have read anything by Jennifer Bernard I highly recommend you give her a try. I do not think you will be disappointed you did.

Good second in series book. Great writing, good plot, excellent characters. Jennifer Bernard does not disappoint.

This book is about Charlie, a do-gooder Robin Hood hacker that never slows down or lets anyone in except for her three closest friends. When her latest actions of trying to get her father free from prison backfire, it puts Nick on her tail. Nick is a PI that was just hired to find Charlie and get her to talk to her father's former employer. But Charlie doesn't know that so she flees to Alaska to the remote town of Firelight Ridge where two of her friends currently are. The town bands together to hide her so eventually Nick leaves and lets it go, especially since the whole investigation didn't sit right with him.

Fast forward a few months and Nick is back with his just met teenage daughter to get some bonding time. Everyone wants to use his services however so it is not a restful vacation. Plus he has an intense connection with Charlie and she seems to find trouble pretty easily. As weird warnings and things keep happening, both Charlie and Nick get pulled in. Arrows (literally) fly, smoke bombs are thrown, kidnappings occur and old time miners with guns run rampant. There's a secret on the mountain to uncover and a 40 year old murder to solve.

Definitely a lot packed into this book!

This is the second book in the Firelight Ridge Alaska series, and it was just as good as the first. The first book left us on quite a cliff hanger wondering what trouble Charlie Santa Lucia, a best friend of the first books main character, had gotten into. This second book in the series takes us back to learn how things started and catches us up to present day. Charlie is a gorgeous and intelligent Robin Hood who has spent her life skirting the law taking from big corporations to help those in need. However she has finally taken it a step too far, and now the law is after her. Nick Perini is a PI tasked with trying to hunt down the illusive beauty on behalf of a big corporation. Nick does not usually get to know his targets, but something about Charlie just gets to him. As Nick and Charlie play cat and mouse, a second mystery arises that forces them to combine to help some of the residents of Alaska. This book was filled with romance, mystery, and beautiful scenery, and once I started reading it, I could not put it down. After the ending to this one, I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I received an ARC, and this is my honest review.

I have loved this author’s books from her very fist one. This series is a little edgier and I am SO hooked!

Charlie Santa Lucia is such a strong character and is always taking care of someone or some thing. Case in point: Goldilocks, the goldfish! It was hilarious, to me, that she took this fish “on the lam” to Alaska. I mean, who does that? And she talks to...her...

She gets herself...entangled with Nick Perini, a sort of P.I. with a daughter. Charlie is so used to watching out for everyone else, she never sees Nick coming. To be fair, Nick never sees the impact Charlie will have on his life, either.

I love the intrigue and mayhem in this story! It all weaves around Charlie, her dad, her friends, Nick and even his daughter Hailey – and all the eccentric characters in Firelight, Alaska. Nick is smart, gorgeous, totally out of his element with his teen daughter – think clueless! – but he has so much heart. And the Firelight Ridge residents? You think you know them... Absolutely loved this story! It was great to visit everyone again and I can’t wait for the next story.

Oh my gosh...what a story! A romance, a who-done-it, a murder, and a kidnapping all in the backwoods of Alaska with no law enforcement handy. There are quirky people who populate the area, and four friends who will do anything for each other...as evidenced by them all being in Alaska, in the backwoods, backing each other up.

Now add in an investigator and his newly 'found' daughter, looking for a hacker who manipulates cash flow from the bad guys, but only for good reasons!! The hacker also returns a goldfish to it's rightful owner, after saving it from a flushing incident in NYC. This book is SO MUCH FUN, with enough of a thriller vibe to keep you on your toes and some swoony romance.

I so enjoyed this second book in the Firelight Ridge series by Ms. Bernard. The story flows and draws you in, while keeping your entertained. Fire Peak can be read as a standalone, although having the background of the town and the people who live there from Book 1 in the series, really adds to the enjoyment of the story.

A bit of a cliff hanger, but a fabulous lead in to Book 3! I can't wait!

Another fun book set in Alaska with a mystery to be solved and romance to be found.

Love Jennifer Bernard and she finds a way to make me smile and turn pages with every book she writes.

Charlie is her own version of Robin Hood with her want to help those less fortunate at the hands of those who have more than others and do not act in the best manner.

Nick is an investigator who was hired to track someone down. He didn't know why, but he was asked to find Charlie and bring her to a specific company for a chat.

Charlie ends up in Alaska where her friends Molly and Lina are to hide out. It turns into a job a the remote resort in town as the perfect place to lay low for a while.

Nick got fired from his task as he couldn't bring Charlie in, but comes back to the town with his daughter for a vacation. The vacation turned into nothing relaxing as all the locals asked him for assistance on various tasks.

Nick and Charlie have a cat and mouse game going on, which over time they realize they need to stop making up reasons to stay away from each other and work together for a common cause.

A fun little caper. Looking forward for the next one!

Love This Sizzling Suspense Romance
Charlie Santa Lucia is a self-appointed Robin Hood hacker who targets the worst corporate wrongdoers and secretly redirects funds toward non-profits that need them more. Only this time she has gone to0 far trying to get her sick innocent father out of jail. Nick Perini a private investigator working for the company that set her father up to go to jail and he is on to her. When she goes to Firelight Ridge to lay low, he follows her. The two of them end up caught up in a decades old mystery. Wow! I absolutely loved this well written riveting suspense romance novel. It captivated me at every twist and turn with the mystery, danger and suspense. The characters are exceptional with lots of banter and humor and on top of that Charlie and Nick’s chemistry is off the charts. The Alaskan scenery is described to perfection making me feel like I was right there. I cannot wait to read more about Firelight Ridge.

The second book in the series is a winner!

This is the second book in the Firelight Ridge series, and boy was it a good one! When the first book ended, we were left wondering what was going to happen to Charlie Santa Lucia when she blew back into town in Red and running from Nick Perini. I absolutely loved this book from the very first page to the very end. We got to learn about Charlie and what happened to her in her past to make her the woman that she is today. I thought Charlie was an interesting woman and I loved the things that she did for those that couldn’t fight for themselves. Then there’s Nick, he’s an investigator hot on Charlie’s heels but he’s unable to track her down in town as everyone is helping to hide her. He ends up coming back to town a few months later with his daughter and connects with Charlie once she learns that he is no longer on her case. I loved watching these two grow closer and how they worked together to unravel the new mystery that is happening in town now. This was such a great story that you literally won’t be able to put it down.

I am loving this quad of friends!!! Charlie has found herself in some trouble and finds a safe haven with her friends in Alaska. She has figured out the handsome man she met running one day is actually a PI who has been watching her. She didn’t expect him to show up in Alaska on vacation. I loved how Charlie got under Nick’s skin so much that he didn’t believe she could have done anything wrong. Charlie has a big heart and that’s what seems to get her into the most trouble. Her relationship with her temporary boss in Firelight Ridge is a great example. She wants to help her boss with the past hurts but could get un-alived at the same time.
Nick follows his gut. His gut says things aren’t as they seem. He wants to know why but he is also trying to get to know a daughter who he didn’t even know about. Taking her to Alaska seemed like a good idea. Running into Charlie again was a bonus.
I really liked both these characters. The chemistry is on point even though they have obvious trust issues. But working together to discover what is really going on forces them to do just that.

I adored Fire Peak! Jennifer Bernard knocked it out of the park with book 2! Charlie and Nick where amazing characters to read about, the plot intriguing and fascinating that kept you on your toes, with all of the secondary characters being amazing and the scenery was just as well explained as book 1 and seems so dreamy! Charlie was an amazing heroine and i was so intrigued by her personal story. She was a strong woman, who was confident in herself and her abilities. She adored her dad and friends and would’ve done anything for them. Nick was a great hero at too. At first you’re not sure because of the past between these 2 but he is an amazing man. He’d come across as self assured, confident and very focused. All of these things were true but there was so much more behind the man- he was loving, passionate and cared deeply. Seeing the relationship he was steadily building with his daughter and how he fretted over their relationship and what he should and shouldn’t do showed the level of care he had. Charlie and Nick’s relationship was a slow burn but once it lit it exploded in your face. The chemistry was there from the start and steadily just ramped up. I loved the relationships between Charlie and her girls (shoutout to Molly and Sam here), Nick and Hailey and Hailey and Elias. Loved Fire Peak and can’t wait for book 3!

This is book two in the Firelight Ridge series and it’s centered around Charlie and Nick. When Charlie needs to get out of town, she goes and gets Molly’s cherry red BMW to drive to Alaska. She thinks Nick has been following her and hopefully, she can lose him in Alaska. Charlie’s best friends are Molly, Ani, and Lila. When she gets to Alaska, Nick is right on her tail, but her friends and the locals hide her. Nick and Charlie have some amazing chemistry, but she doesn’t trust him. Can Nick win her over once he does catch up with her, after he’s taken off the job for not finding her in time? I’m not going to leave any spoilers, but I will say if you enjoy romance with a dose of suspense, you’ll definitely want to read this book. This author will have you flipping the pages to see what’s going to happen next.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Charlie's entrance into town was sure memorable! I loved how everyone had her back on the word of Molly and Lila and even after continued to do what they could to protect her.

The whole deal with Nick seemed shady from the start and even as we learned it all, it still seemed shady and like the company was still hiding things. I was glad that Nick left it behind when he was fired. Found it interesting that he showed back up in town for vacation with his daughter after all that happened.

It was funny to see the town react to Nick and how he got sucked in. More fun was when he and Charlie actually met again and started talking. Of course that ended up the start of all the drama to come. It was crazy what happened and why, you sort of were shaking your head at it all when the truth came out. I think things ended about the best they could.

It will be interesting to see what happens next in this town, that sure loves it's drama!

What a wonderful addition to the Firelight Ridge Series. From the moment I picked Charlie Santa Lucia and Nick Perini’s story up I knew I was reading something special but it was only after I had read the final line and the characters and their journey was still with me that I realised just how special Fire Peak really is. If you love small town, romantic reads that have a mix of love and mystery look no further than this gem.
Charlie and her father are searching for answers in Firelight Ridge, Alaska but what they don’t know is Nick is following close behind……
Will everyone get the answers they are desperately searching for ?
This book captivated me and I was intrigued by the blurb but it was the strong writing that took this book to the next level and I highly recommend it to all romantic suspense lovers.

Fire Peak is a fabulous read. I am really loving this suspense filled series of Firelight Ridge. This is book 2 in the series and should be read in order. This series surrounds four friends and a small Alaskan town. This is Charlie's book. Charlie is a hacker on the run and looking for shelter with her friends. All she wants is to get her father out of prison and live her life. When she arrives in Firelight Ridge danger is not far behind. Nick is a Private Investigator tracking Charlie. Nick is a charmer and knows things feel off. I love the chemistry and pull between Nick and Charlie as the truths come out. I love how protective Nick is of his daughter and Charlie. I love how Charlie is not afraid of the danger the pops up. I could not get enough of this one. I'm so looking forward to Ani's book next. Go one click this today.

This is a story that catches you from the first chapter and holds on for dear life. Charlie is a great kick tail now and take names later character. She is protective of her dad. She is so cautious with herself, her own heart, her time and her attention. I love that Nick sees so much more than what he is expecting. I love that he falls hard. I love his smart and independent daughter, Hailey. The story has twists and turns and depth. I love the way the town takes Charlie and her friends under their wing and treats them like their own, like they belong. Most of all I love the way Nick fits. I love that everyone brings him work. They all want his help. I love this book and I am so grateful that I received an early copy. I have so many more thoughts and love for these characters that I just don't know how to express them.

I loved the second book in this series and Nick and Charlie were the perfect pair for this storyline. Nick is a man who likes to finish the job he is hired to do, but there is something about the people who hired him that runs him the wrong way and something about Charlie that makes him want to help her. Charlie is fiercely independent and has had to rely on herself for a long time.

The mystery and intrigue in this book were fantastic and had me on the edge of my seat. Who keeps threatening them and why? I loved his daughter and how she became fast friends with Elias. I also liked the fact that she didn’t hesitate to help him when he was in trouble.

With the first two books in this series being this good I can’t wait to see what is coming. I highly recommend this series and this book. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.

Time to head back to Firelight Ridge and see what is going to happen next with this group of four friends. Charlie is the newest friend to end up in Alaska running from a little code job that she may have gotten caught for. Nick, is a private investigator hired but Charlie keeps outsmarting him. The company he is hired by lets him go and he decides that he wants to take his daughter up to the Peak to find out what is going on in the small town. So much is going on in this small town, you will have to find out for yourself since I do not want to give away spoilers. Jennifer Bernard continues to create this fun little towns, with great characters, romance and mystery. This newest series is just her latest and the latest group of characters have been life long friends. I can't wait to see what happens with the next two friends.

Charlie finds herself in a bit of a predicament when her attempts to help her father draw interest and she now finds herself trying to stay one step ahead of Nick. She escapes to Fire Peak so that she can be close to her friends however Nick is not far behind and now they might just find themselves on the same side when it comes to the suspicious activities happening in town.

Nick’s assignment is to find Charlie and bring her back so that she can answer some questions about her recent activities. When he comes to town his attempts to locate her are thwarted however the townspeople soon put him to work which causes him and Charlie to spend time together and that is when the romance and danger begins to heat up.

The town and its people are delightful as they embrace both Charlie and Nick into their fold as they try to uncover the mysteries and find love along the way.

I have been patiently waiting for the next book in this series I have enjoyed reading about a group of misfit friends and how they were always there for each other. They have been friends for a long time. I loved how the author wove a tale of such unique characters that pullled me into the story and the town of Firelight Ridge in Alaska. It was the perfect mix of romance, suspense, mystery, and surprises so that I could not put the book down. l also liked that there will be another book in this series and it sounds intriguing too from the last chapter I read in this book. Those compelling women who will always have each other's backs! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Jennifer Bernard is consummate storyteller and the second book in her Firelight Ridge series is another excellent example. This series is woven around four friends, each story stands alone, but you get more context by reading the whole series and it is well worth your time. This story centers on Charlotte (Charlie) and Nick. Charlie uses her computer hacking skills to right the wrongs of corporate wrong doers behind the scenes. but mainly she is focused on getting her father out of prison. He was wrongfully convicted based on the machinations of one of those bad corporations. Nick is hired by the corporation to find her. Their story revolves around their journey from adversaries to allies, and then more. Don't miss this book or any of the other stories in the Firelight Ridge series.

I am loving this series! The descriptions of the landscape are so vivid and beautifully drawn, and this, alongside captivating characters and a good plotline, make these books unputtdownable! Charlie and Nick's story manages to combine fun, wit, a great romance, a mystery and a setting which is fascinating I'm not an outdoorsy person, but even I am attracted to the idea of hiking here...though equally enticing are winter months, sitting by a fire that never goes out, with endless books. But I digress...Fire Peak has been everything I hoped for after loving Ice Falls. I am thoroughly invested in these books set in the middle of soaring mountain, eccentric characters, delicious heroes and people with hearts of gold. 💖💖💖💖💖

This is the second book in this incredible series, and this is Nick and Charlie’s story.
Nick is a PI who was hired to track down Charlie who is targeting corporate greed, to prove her dad has been incarcerated for a crime he did not commit. When Nick takes a vacation with his daughter in Alaska, he and Charlie end up working together to solving the mysteries of the past.
This is a well written story which is action packed, with family, friendships, mystery, suspense, intrigue, humor, twists and turns, and love, which leads to an entertaining, and unpredictable, small town romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
